Dealing with Chronic Lurkers

And your actual scummers who lurk/flake out on a game can be redeemed/beat with sticks until they repent of their evil ways, so there's no sense kicking them to the curb.

And if they do gain a reputation as an unhelpful lurker, then the towns they're involved in should help take care of it themselves by lynching them.

well my game has a shot clock and because of that the players take action aginst any kind of chronic lurking. with 2 weeks before a lynch every time you read you should help the town.

i am personally sorry for any lurking you have seen me doing recently.

and i am in the process of cuting my games to a small number. and hopefully ill get to my usual spamtastic self in the few games im in.

mish mash is 5
and modding is 3

the 4 games im in are high tension.
i am at the end game of a new york game, the wifom league, then two other games one is a fun theme and another is a theme i dont know about.

then mish mash i have a balance of both
big brother which is always complicated. then i have TAR which is weekly, checkerboard which is bi-monthly, and deathwatch is just waiting. and 10,000 is when ever i feel like it.

modding is me trying to keep freaktown at a quick and enjoyable pace, survivor trying ot finish, and TAR is weekly taking choices.


the moral of the lesson is lowering your games doenst always help. because i did that earlier this year and i am in this position where im neglating some of my games because i just shifted my projects around to man things.

dont get me wrong the four of us is solid. but me as the top poster for the R's is alot of responsiblity.

ok, my breif period of lurking has ended. today i was killed in my remaining games.


all i have is the wifom league, safari mafia which is in sign ups right now, modding freaktown, and trying to figure out a way to wrap-up survivor mafia.

*this doesnt include mishmash stuff.

Also, players need to realise that they can't just sit around waiting for something interesting to happen. Nothing will ever happen unless people post.

Trouble is, even good guys can get themselves lynched by making noise. As long as nothing is happening the town at least isn't losing, right?

thats right i make noise alot, or i used to before this brief lurking phase i went through, and i was killed many times. and i was town most of the times.


and deadlines are the way to go. even better, make it shotclocks like freaktown.

and give them posting mins. freaktown is 3 posts after a week, 7 posts by the deadline (2 weeks).
