I played in a game with a role like this once and it was really neat. The player had limited influence over the game and how it went. (Call of Cthullu, if you're interested, probably spelled wrong. Look in my wiki.)

I really really think this belongs in the worst roles thread rather then best roles thread.
How do you see this role improving the game?
It punishes optimal scumplay (kill good players / use kills to shape discussion) and ruins the Dead QT (which are quite interesting normally).
Routine day with a dirt cheap brush
Then a week goes by and it goes untouched
Then two, then three, then a month
Then the rest of your life, you beat yourself up

The role (though different than this) was really good when I played with something like it. It made the living players still get some influence in the game and it was really interested. (The players were pre-warned things in the dead thread might make it back to the game.) Scum lied and insisted they were town; (some scumflips WERE town), and everyone posted up a storm trying to influence the medium (other role name)'s 2 or 3 shot voting ability.
The medium knows who's town based off the flips unless the game included deathmillers in which case I hate you, the game, the mod, the person who reviewed the game and Chamber.

The point is, why should there NOT be two Dead QTs in the game?
One for the medium to talk with the dead and a separate one for the dead only.

- Each night you may target one player. If that player is the target of a kill, they are saved and you die in their place. If you successfully block a kill, and die, the mod will post your target's name in the thread the next morning.

I agree that if there were two dead QTs the role would be cool and probably fun, the fact that there are 2 dead QTs is a slippery slope asking for people to say something in the wrong QT.
I just thought of this and it has some interesting applications.
