banning swearing wouldn't work, it hasn't in the past and has just forced people into games where it isn't banned (people want what they want, and there will always be a mod willing to give it to them)

This must be done in formulastic terms: "The gentleman Faraday appears to be suggesting that..." and "I would respond to the respected JDodge that..."

balance isn't really an issue, as the large normal people are there now. or at least in theory it shouldn't be.

also that's the basis for a lot of games, anyway.

vanillaless set-ups can be made unbreakable via massclaim day 1, but they're obviously swingier and a massclaim can break it after a couple of powerful scum flips. but a massclaim can break most games if you get early scum flips. or help, anyway.
