As for elvis, I didn't like the fact Bamboo refuses to disclose his room. I have a hunch if we all know what room people went to, we may be able to isolate and trap scum later on, so refusal to give us a history is very suspicious to me.

just a hunch. It seems to me a lot of the role choices and outcomes are based on who is where. Why else would we need to be in a room? I'm thinking if we have a record of who was in what room, it may be possible to narrow things down later, even if it's as little as narrowing down people who could NOT be scum at endgame based on room choices.

We don;t know right now, which is why I think NOW is why it is essential that we get the info for yesterday out there. Plus, scum may be afraid, and lie about the room they were in, and we may have a way of determining later on who was where.

I really don;t see a downside to revealing,m and DO see an upside. Again, it is all speculation - but why else do we need to submit room choices?

I thought you were saying that we'd be able to force scum in a room together if we find out past choices. To me, that's what your earlier post seems to imply (isolate/trap).

I can see a point to catalogueing room choices, since it shouldn't (at this point) reveal roles or anything hazardous like that. Of course, mine is already out there, so that's sort of a null comment.

Unvote
for now. Anyone see any downsides to looking at rooms retrospectively, but not revealing future choices? I still don't quite get Bamboomancer's objection...

I feel like I've been over potential downsides to revealing rooms already. So here's a new one. Anybody who admits to being in the Conservatory with Flay is almost certainly neither doc nor cop. That narrows scum's search for those roles rather sharply from the very beginning.

I simply don't understand what it will help for me to say wat room I'm in. I've read all the arguments and EVERYONE is assuming a lot of things that they have no place to. I do not want to play "outguess the mod" and as scuh, I've made that choice.

I see one downside: it may out the doc to the mafia while leaving the town in the dark (yes I know I'm still making assumptions about the doc, but like I said, it
may
not will)

Other than that though, sounds like it could work

We don't know exactly what the room choices do, but (as BJ said) we can quite fairly assume that they do
something
. What?, not sure yet, but it might be useful later. For now, it seems that the advantages of claiming outway the disadvantages.

The advantages seem to outweigh the disadvantages?! Has anyone suggested a single advantage to indicating where we went last night that isn't some variation on "maybe after a couple days there will be a pattern that we can piece together"? As compared to 1) making it easier for scum to find the doc and cop; 2) helping scum figure out why their kill didn't go through last night; and 3) drawing attention away from actual discussion of who has behaved scummily and should be lynched.

I'm afraid I don't really see how we could find fatterns and such. Just because I went to the billiard room today and flay and Elvis were in the conservatory and all that jazz, this says nothing about where we will be tommorow and whether or not we are scum.

I don't really see the room reveal as being something especially horrific, nor helpful seeing as power roles just want to reveal themselves (Flay... who has decreased in my minds especially after his heavily WIFOM logic, namely Flay 34). I don't think the rooms are a selling point so much on scummery, unless there is more information that we can garner from room choices, which may happen with deaths and protections, but I haven't seen it yet.

I'm fine with not revealing it, I've already done so so it didn't matter to me. The point about the doc being outed makes it not worth it, at least at this stage.

The thing we lose is later, in the endgame, we won't be able to go back and say "aha! but Soandso died in the Ballroom with the knife, why didn't you ______?", but that requires a foolish scum set.

Vote: elvis_knits
, still
FOS: BabyJesus
but I can wait one more day. Can we get a vote count (after the mod gets her caffeine?)

Wow, it was getting exciting in there for a minute. But now, it looks like we're at:

Unvote: Bamboomancer, Vote: elvis_knits
Mr. Flay in post 254 wrote:Happy with a lynch on either elvis or BJ today, though since it looks like BJ just claimed powerlessness, that may be the 'safer' lynch. bamboomancer's still giving me hives, but... where is everybody?
I didn't like the way elvis threw her vote on BJ, and then he didn't vote her back. He's voted everyone else at the slightest provocation... I don't really think either one is particularly scummier than the other, but BJ
has
claimed.

Yeah.. I don't see how BJ claiming matters.... Clearly no one character in this game is any more likely to be scum than any other (assuming everyone's character is a color character), so I'm more for lynching BJ right now than possibly outing a power role... BJ hasn't done much to convince me of his towniness even if he has claimed...

Claiming your role name is probably pretty useless, but claiming your role type (ie. cop, doc, etc) might make a difference. Though I don't really see why Mr Flay is voting elvis over BJ. I suppose maybe cause BJ already has a couple votes.

lynching townies simply to avoid outing a power role is not really a winning strategy in a 12 player game...typically we at least TRY and hit scum. You've reminded me why I thought you were so scummy before now.

That's not what I meant... you're misunderstanding me

I said I'd rather lynch
you
