In this claim method, the players choose by consensus one of the scummier players to claim first. As each player claims, they declare the next person to claim. The effectiveness of this approach is entirely dependent on how "close" the players are to finding the scum.

Popcorn is useful to force scum to claim as early as possible so they have less to work with. We have barely anything to work with and we're claiming information that, as far as I can tell, is pretty much useless (unless the mod messed up big time and chose one song from each year and scum are in the doubled years, in which case order won't matter anyway). Just having everyone claim in this case is better because it gets it out of the way without wasting too much time and without any fuss.

Anyway, theory time over, let's talk about real things like frogs and unicorns:

13 players, typical 10v3 setup, it is viable that there are no double years. I wanted all 13 year claims so I could examine this. if only 3-4 had double-claimed years, that would have been interesting information.

If you are indeed telling the truth that EVERYONE was given Maruchan-Confirmed-Town-Status, yes I will agree with you that Umbrage is scummy, why? Voting a fucking mod-confirmed innocent.

Okay, cool. I'll wait for a couple others to swing by and confirm what I said, but until then, we may as well try to get stuff done. Do you think there's anything alignment-revealing to be gained from this post? It's not exactly much of anything to go on (and I can't say I've managed to pin an alignment to it), but it has more schtuff in it than the other confirm posts. What do you think of it? Town? Scum? Null?

I think it has both townie cred and scum cred possibilities. The cred I ascertain to it however, depends on which he shows more of later.

It can show townie cred, because its shows he is at least ATTEMPTING to stem a bit more interaction then the general "/confirm"er, however it could be scum because scum would want to know why we should claim years, due to their year not being in the 80's. He could be wanting to know if I know something he doesn't about years of songs.

Overall, for now I'll call it null-town, and if others confirm your little tidbit that I am mod-inno, then I will call Umbrage scummy as fuck for (fake)voting a confirmed inno. Shows she probably doesn't know I am a confirmed inno (if I am), as scum PM wouldn't be told confirmed innos.


IF indeed I am mod-confirmed, I see what he meant when he said my custom-role could be overpowered. I told him it is only possibly over-powered in one situation, and that situation can't happen unless I am obvTown to the majority of the game.

It would imply our roles have something dependant/in common/reliant on each other which would be interesting.

It's possible the mod only told me, but the way it was put in the PM looked a lot like what innocent child usually looks like in a PM. If that's the case, I probably shouldn't have mentioned it though....and now that I think about it, that does make more sense, given Umbrage's vote. Meh. If you're only confirmed to me, what do you think of Umbrage?

I didn't say it wouldn't. I said I saw no more reasons for or against it, as now any third-party that might have gotten a 1980's number might claim a duplicate just to incriminate someone else. Maybe a Jester hoping to get them both lynched?

However, it still leads to the scum, as my role PM said I am aligned with the 1980's songs, so I am guessing scum don't have a 1980's number, except in fakeclaim.

As such, I see neither reasons for nor against doing it anymore.

If you read 10a in its entirety, it suggests to me that the flavor described in rule 10a would be kill-scene and lynch-scene flavor, not flavor in our role PMs. As we can't exactly ignore flavor in our role PMs, as the win condition is flavored.
