1) Unsure, leaning Red given D1 play (Toog vote could be a bus, rest of play suggests Mafia "hunt Cult first" motivation).
2) Because you're giving your target a lifeboat rather than giving them the chance to out themselves as scum with their own words. I have trouble seeing a town motivation for that (and if you ARE town you need to quit doing that at once, so it's a win-win to call you out on it).

To more directly answer your question, I would vote for another player if I thought he was acting anti-town. For instance, if most people agree you are scum-mafia (and I agree with that), then I would definitely place a vote down on you.

If most people (read: you and your second head) think that muffin is scum (and I disagree), then I wouldn't place a vote on him

To Friend and GW: If I understand right, you suspect WLC as cult because:
(1) He hasn't posted much
(2) He attacked the idea that WL are anti-Cult

Is that the bulk of the argument? I see some merit to the second one, but I don't see the first one. Actually, my statement is imprecise; while he hasn't posted much, his posts Day 1 gave me a feel that he was actively participating, but probably overwhelmed by sheer post volume, and that he actively took a position in gunning for ooba's lynch. I feel like a cult player wouldn't be actively gunning for a lynch unless he had information to warrant such behavior.

Reviewing the low post players, I actually think Blackberry is more guilty of both offenses. I suggest you read through his post history; he begins with questioning Nikanor, he points out the Uncultable vs Unrecruitable role descriptor (could indicate he is interested in cult hunting, or could indicate he's cult and wants to know what he's up against), he fence sits regarding Nik vs Toast, but continues to post to discredit Nik (though admittedly, his criticisms are spot on). He contributes little content, and takes no official stances, while at the same time adding fuel to Toast and myself who had both voiced criticism of Nik's fake gambit, while keeping himself distanced. That rings to me as a non-commital cult-like play. Also, his criticism of Mr. S's gambit.

Peregrine's *3 posts* also worries me, especially as his justification for voting WLC is that WLC voted Mr. S

, and he didn't remove that vote after Mr. S revealed that it was a fake gambit. I think there's a good chance peregrine is cult, fake cult-hunting, and happy to push the WLC wagon.

I actually think vezok is more likely town than scum. But, given that his claimed ability name is "Freezer" and your vote was "frozen" yesterday, I wanted to verify whether he targeted you (also recall him mentioning that his ability is stronger given the fact it's a double lynch).

Anyway, two things:

1) Apart from the vezok thing, do you have any real reason to believe I'm scum?
2) It might be a good idea to test whether your vote is stuck again.

POINT 1: "Reviewing the low post players"... What is a low post player? Considering the fact that I just replaced into a position of someone who wasn't here, as soon as I joined I believe I've been active. Thus, comperatively, I would not be considered a 'low post player' IMO. Did you look at this at all? I just joined today and I am definetely not lurking, which is what I believe your intentions were of a 'low post player'.

POINT 2: If I was a cult, I don't ask about "what is uncultable vs. unrecruitable because I want to know who I can recruit. This isn't WIFOM, it's plain cut and clear, if you're cult, you ask about it in private and don't bring it up in thread. Thinking I asked that because I was a cult trying to get information is a bad claim.

POINT 3: Anyone who is smart probably could guess I wasn't just questioning Nikanor for nothing.

POINT 4: I am not fencesitting conscerning Toast vs. Nikanor. I think I made it very clear that I do not want to lynch either of them and brought it to the surface that the likely scenario is Nikanor is fakeclaiming (which he admits) and that Toasty is sincere and just missed the fakeclaim.

POINT 5: My intention wasn't to 'discredit' Nikanor, but moreso to get the truth out of him because I knew he was lying.

tbh, my vote on apok is a combination of poe, gut and a lack of genuine scumhunting from him (imo).

Although, in rereading his ISO, I think it's a lot more likely that he's red-scum than cult. This makes a hell of a lot of sense if you consider Apok's early vote on nik a chainsaw and Apok's vote on ooba joining a counter-wagon.
