Remind me to actually play the next DEFCON game. But in regards to the title, AGM's DEFCON persona also made its way to CYS: A Monument of Sins (yes another AGM game but). A true friend and whatnot- he deserves nothing better than a title reminding people of their imminent deaths.
^this is a good post. Thank you for explaining this.
jdodge1019: hasjghsalghsakljghs is from vermont
jdodge1019: vermont is made of liberal freaks and cows
jdodge1019: he's not a liberal
jdodge1019: thus he is a cow

It was the same thing as when people were trying to force a title for danakillsu based on the fact he ran one game about the Green Lantern comics. I'd say you, Tar, are a bit more well-known for making mindfuck games in general, not to mention you have a bit more of a legacy with Mind Screw and your other games than AGM does right now. Like I said, the more I think about it, the more I like the title because it has ramifications outside of just "AGM modded a game with nukes in it".
Yeah, funny story - I earned my titleveryquickly after the end of the first Mind Screw game. (Amusingly enough, the original suggestion for my title ["Sadist"] has grown on me over time.)
Maybe the title meta has changed since then (certainly the Mini Theme queue has, as evidenced by how Mind Screw II started a week after the end of Mind Screw I), but...
Andrius, there is basically already a title council of sorts, headed by Oman. I disagree with the thought of a Title Council as well, but one already exists. :/

Or we could form a 'Title Council' and somehow factor in the plebs as well.
No and No.
We don't need mass-spam titles for people for two-three months of being here.
While 2 years is alot, Parama's on the right track- Title should be more than just "LOL I MADE A JOKE" or something. A tribute to an amazing series of games, a site meme, a site icon, testament to someone's good (or bad or LOLbad) play, a nod to their meta; that's what titles should be about- something that resonates with the player for years. Not three months of being here and a "hey look can i haz title nao?"
And the Title Council is bad. Titles are for the community to decide not
rich bureaucrats
some council of people to decide. Who better to decide how the community views the player than the community? Not some
politician
council who might be out of touch with today's going-ons.
edit: Sorry for the doublepost- what I get for reading the thread backwards. Anyway, thought there was some srs discussion on changing policy. Why I commented.
Horrible. Some players who've not been here for two years are very respected and good Mafia players. I stand by my word, six months is bad enough. Don't make it worse.

done, and Gamma is most likely getting 'Glad Hatter'.
Yeah no, "IT'S PARTAY TIME" fits Gamma much better. (Or maybe Lady Lambdadelta, though I'm horribly tempted to nominate her for a Bernkastel-based title instead.)
Only if it's a Tea Party.
Yes my Lord, but questions are dangerous, for they have answers.
13 heads and counting now, plurality is adaptive. If our experience might help you,

You do realize that most players on this site haven't even established a consistent playstyle within 6 months? Or inserted themselves into the community in a way in which lore than a niche of the site knows anything about them? Just because you hold someone's mafia play in high regard doesn't mean that they are widely recognized by the community at large as anything more than just another poster. 6 months really is too short if titles truly are supposed to be a reflection of ones general character or playstyle, but that's where it stands right now and it won't be lowered any time soon.

I'll be honest, I just lost the argument. While I personally don't agree I can see the benefits of raising the time before title.
