I did. I gave my opinion about a bad title for Hohum. There has to be at least one other characteristic that Hohum is known for other than pot.

Then again, I am too new and don't have the right to suggest titles.

I'm not trying to be a mean old bastard, but people don't seem to realize this doesnt have to be, and actually shouldnt be a very active thread. Going a couple days with zero posts here is a good thing and should be a rather common occurance

This falls into that category of THIS PERSON MODDED (A) GAME(S) BASED ON XYZ, THUS IT SHOULD AFFECT THEIR TITLE that I really don't like. It's on the same playing field as titles based on memes, or titles based on something a user posts all the time.

Also, SleepyKrew needs to just stop posting shit in this thread. I find you more bearable than most people, man, but every post in this thread is like nails on a chalkboard. You haven't even been here six months yet, and you're trying to discuss title nomination policies.

Just because someone has been here for a certain amount of time doesn't mean they should get a title, either, so stop trying to force one for hohum.

Now that I think about it, the nomination for AGM's title feels a little better once you consider it's in all-caps, considering the fact he enjoys jumping in the caps-play with everyone else and it's not just LOL HE MODDED A GAME ABOUT NUKES. But meh overall. It just feels forced for no reason.

He can be a screamer too at times, y'know, all nuclear and shizz. And the games are becoming iconic in more ways than one, I think it's deserved.

Nah - I figure that title should go to one of the players who actually started it (probably Gammagooey). I'm just waiting to nom someone for it until DEFCON 3 is done.

EDIT: Reck's objection seems off. There are some mods whose reputation will permanently be tied to a particularly iconic game or series of games (Percy - Stars Aligned, SpyreX - Star Control/Powerful Wizard, Tarhalindur - Mind Screw, Mirth - Congratulations! You are... Mafia, AlmasterGM - DEFCON, etc.). These users tend to wind up with custom titles that reference those games. I don't see a problem with this.

I suppose I see your point, but my original problem was that it felt too narrow of a title to only reference three games, one of which is still ongoing. It was the same thing as when people were trying to force a title for danakillsu based on the fact he ran one game about the Green Lantern comics. I'd say you, Tar, are a bit more well-known for making mindfuck games in general, not to mention you have a bit more of a legacy with Mind Screw and your other games than AGM does right now. Like I said, the more I think about it, the more I like the title because it has ramifications outside of just "AGM modded a game with nukes in it".

Remind me to actually play the next DEFCON game. But in regards to the title, AGM's DEFCON persona also made its way to CYS: A Monument of Sins (yes another AGM game but). A true friend and whatnot- he deserves nothing better than a title reminding people of their imminent deaths.

We don't need mass-spam titles for people for two-three months of being here.
While 2 years is alot, Parama's on the right track- Title should be more than just "LOL I MADE A JOKE" or something. A tribute to an amazing series of games, a site meme, a site icon, testament to someone's good (or bad or LOLbad) play, a nod to their meta; that's what titles should be about- something that resonates with the player for years. Not three months of being here and a "hey look can i haz title nao?"

And the Title Council is bad. Titles are for the community to decide not

some council of people to decide. Who better to decide how the community views the player than the community? Not some

politician

council who might be out of touch with today's going-ons.
