Discuss.
I agree with this. They don't have enough time to get to know players if they haven't been on that long.
While you may see some of the key personality traits in 6 months, you do not learn a user's personality for years.
Okaay...And are we trying to understand all of the facets of a title candidate's personality or what's so distinct about their playstyles that it warrants recognition? Since we're talking "distinct", by definition such qualities shouldn't be too hard or take too long to discern.
I really hope you guys are kidding. Again, what is the reason for this? It's not really that you can't ignore a title suggestion if you feel it's bad. The "at least six months before title" is bad enough. Please don't make it worse. I feel it's working the kind of way it is now.

You have to know a person so much to come up with a title.
I think I've missed the deeper meaning in some titles here. To me it looks like it shows exactly key personality traits.

Because at the end you are just as likely to flake from the site if you've been here for two years. It's what we contribute that matters, and guys like you and Twistedspoon do need a title more than some practically unknown guy who have been here for two years.

Someone 'practically unknown' doesn't get a title.
It isn't 'I've been here 6 months I automatically get a title'. That would be stupid.
Look at Quagmire. Joined in 2003. AFAIK, all he does is troll. No title for him.

I'm amazed that you was able to miss my point so completely. As a last tip, check out the wiki page "Titles".

Are you talking about all the people that have titles but are no longer on-site? They were prominent people in their time, and probably deserved the titles, and all had to wait 6+ months as well.
vezok, no titles for anyone stupid enough to get banned from 62.

False. There's a long-term retirement bump, but the longer you're on site the longer you tend to stay, in general. Most dropoffs happen in the first couple of months.
Quag
had
a title. When it didn't work/fit anymore, he asked for it to go.
