The way I see it is this is the argument to lynching Guido here. Either you're sure he's scum(you being anyone wanting to lynch here btw), in which case, why not just let him live? The other faction will kill him AND that saves a townie's life ESPECIALLY if we also lynch a scum today. If you lynch mafia here, you do hit a mafia, but then you end up with the chance for two dead townies. Basically, if he's scum, he won't live to day 2 regardless, so why not go elsewhere with another scummy player?

You could swap out Guido's name in this post for any other scummy player. If we abided by this strategy, we wouldn't lynch anyone today. Therefore, it really sounds like you are trying to save him from a lynch.

Omg, I about cried in frustration when I got to page 20. This game is such a mess of poor play but luckily it appears that some of the scum are involved in it.

DK, I understand Amrun's feelings right now. The whole game is built upon the fact that townies do not know the roles of any other player. "I don't know your role" is not a suckish defense. For a townie, it is a fact. "I'm town so stop voting me" is a suckish defense. Townies are also interested in the roles of others "so they'll know who to lynch and who not to". Scum don't care who is lynched. Accusing other players, even other townies, is not a scummy act in itself. In fact, town on town attacks and votes are pretty much guaranteed to happen in any given mafia game.

Also, fuck letting the game sit until deadline.
