I was reading the through through an unbiased perspective to find out who the scum were, and Fate pinged my scumdar the the hardest. Then for whatever reason I got logged out and in my saved username for the box filled in was FATE.

Jeez... this is embarassing.

Initially I could envisage a setup where I was wrong about the scum team call and both mine and Fitz's abilities could co-exist with Kast town but the scum signs of ABR\Fitz are so clear that I'm willing to take a risk here. (I'm nearly sure about Kast too but that can be reevaluated)

Zipping all around above their heads, she escaped all of their attempts at capture and avoided all projectiles hurled at her. She was too small, too fast, too quick-witted. She turned to taunt them, and was in the midst of jeering in miniature fashion, when suddenly,

Apparently, someone had been contemplating to themselves, and had decided that a gathering of all fairy tale heroines and villainesses together in the same locale was bourgeois and altogether unwanted. Mostly because, let's face it; nobody really cares about fairy tales any more, let alone the girls in them. Especially when those said girls are unnecessarily shapely and voluptuous, but with barely the wit to hold a candle to a smart pooch. And so, that somebody had decided to take matters into their own hands. And the first to go was someone that had been caught stealing, and could be up to no good anyway.

The unsuspecting girl never knew what hit her. All she knew was that one moment, she had been rather enjoying a nice, hot bowl of porridge, and had been dreamily daydreaming about hitting the sack upstairs in one of those nice, warm beds, because after all, it was such a nice, warm day, and she was very drowsy indeed. And then the next moment, her bowl had been upset violently; dashed angrily to the floor by a looming specter, and something sharp had penetrated her abdomen and slashed through her midsection.

She opened her mouth in pain, wanting to scream at the terrible agony, but only a gurgle came out; her mouth had still been full. Porridge dribbled from her gaping maw, dripping off her chin, mixing with her entrails now freed from their fleshy prison. She semi-consciously thought to try to hold her guts in, to somehow save her own life... but whatever strength she could muster in her severe shock was only enough to hold her hands in limp support of her intestines and organs as they exited her stomach amid the bright crimson spray. She tried to scream again, but blood choked her throat, bubbling from her lips with all the speed of molasses in January.

And it clicked in her mind then; she knew she would die.

She looked up into the face of her attacker, still gazing on from only a few feet away. What could she discern of anger? Nothing. Of motive? Equally nothing. Only the tightness of the lips betrayed any emotion, and that only a grim sense of satisfaction at watching someone die right in front of their eyes, having been mortally wounded by their own doing. And beside that, a tiny taste of contempt; nothing more.

After the girl had finished dying, the figure left the scene as they'd found it, albeit minus one busty blonde kleptomaniac.


And then the cock crew.

Dawn had broken, and with it... had come a reckoning. Today, fate would be known for certain, and somebody would be lifeless before the sun's retreat. Even the fate of Fate itself was uncertain on a day like this, and all acted accordingly.

I guess I'm willing to accept the modscene as confirmation of ABR's ability, though it certainly isn't what I had in mind when he first claimed it. It doesn't prove alignment, but I don't think RC would have put in that flavor on his own, so the ability seems legit.

I'd like Kast and Fate to claim their actions last night please.

Could be that ABR didn't ask RC enough about how his ability interacted with the opening flavor.

- I think the deal with the first para is that RC decided the best way to work it into the kill sequence is through the killer's thoughts. Otherwise, directly implicating ABR in flavor seems stupid
- Killer flavor clues: "something sharp had penetrated her abdomen and slashed through her midsection" - Nothing useful to go on

My interpretation is that RC's plan was for clever scum to subvert our observation in B&B1 that, unlike in most MS games, the flavor was actually relevant to the game itself by letting scum control it to an extent. I could see it result from one of the scum from the old game being frustrated by how flavor was used.

I think he's, falsely or otherwise, already directly implicating ABR in the flavor ABR submitted himself.

The real question is whether he's more likely to do this when ABR is scum or when he is town.
