You might as well just name them all now, Guppy. ani can't exactly bid 9, now, can he? (The rules say go as soon as you bid eight)

For a grand total of $5,778 cash and prizes and the championship, are those the eight people listed on U.S. currency?

YES!
Prof. Guppy is going to the bonus round!

Franklin D. Roosevelt is on the dime, Andrew Jackson is on the $20 bill, William McKinley was on the $500 bill, Alexander Hamilton is on the $10 bill, John F. Kennedy is on the half dollar, Ulysses S. Grant is on the $50 bill, Susan B. Anthony was on the dollar coin, and Benjamin Franklin is on the $100 bill.

animorpherv1, it's weird being defeated as champion and going home with nothing, eh? Well, I think you deserve some nice parting gifts. I'll hand them to you on the way out of the studio.

Bonus round this afternoon most likely.

Prof. Guppy, here we are at the bonus round. You have three chances to guess all six correct answers in the category. Pull it off and you retire undefeated and go home in a 2011 Chevy Malibu LS worth $21,975. Ready?

BONUS ROUND

Which of the following six people are
characters from the newspaper strip FoxTrot?

Okay, I couldn't gather much, but I did get something out of that.

As my final guess, I am going to say
Numbers 1, 7, 8, 10, 11, and 12
, reading left to right and top to bottom.

No, I was kidnapped :P

A couple of those aren't even from a newspaper comic. Chloë Fox really exists and is a politician from Australia; while Fletcher Emerson is from a webcomic called Panthera.

Of the other four wipeouts, Herb Woodley is from Blondie, Oliver Warbucks is from Little Orphan Annie, Mark Slackmeyer is from Doonesbury and Cindy Summers is from Funky Winkerbean.

Next game soon. I will reveal the rule change then.

Well, at least I had the numbers per column. Given how much crap I give about the Foxtrot strip (i.e. none), that's pretty good. And who wants to retire undefeated after one game anyway?

ROUND 1

One of the states you hear about a lot is California, and no wonder—more people live in California than in any other state. Can you name the 11
cities in California
on this list?
Image

Now, before I let you loose, I'm going to tell you what the rule change is: I've quadrupled everything. For the first two boards, the first answer is worth $100 and each subsequent answer is worth $100 more than the previous; while the first answer in the third board is worth $200 and subsequent answers there are worth $200. And since we've got more money in play, I think we might need room for another digit on those scoreboards...

Image
There.

Prof. Guppy, as champion, you get to go first in Round 1.
