Um yes it is. It's the whole gaining trust thing... TSAGod could be scum and didn't expect the bandwagon to get this far as well.

FOS Bertrand
Done a lot of scummy things so far considering how little has been posted.

Once again the caption shifts itself...

I want to see a claim from akonas. I also don't think it's that great of a wagon, but it's at the point where he needs to claim regardless.
Unvote, FOS: TSAGod

On scum starting bandwagons against scum: That's really a very WIFOM arguement, so let's ignore that for now. I do think that if TSAGod is scum, he was trying to get a quick lynch on Akonas.

I think if TSAGod was scum then he'd try to get a bandwagon that dies halfway...

Total Crap. If scum starts a bandwagon, it's NOT ON OTHER SCUM.

FoS pie, part OMGUS
It can be. Scum casts suspicion on spread-out day, thinking there's an already stronger wagon and will create a separation between the players. Town acts quickly on the scum, for the reasons given by the scum.

There we have it. Scum bandwagons scum.
Show me the other stronger wagon.

Well, I started a (short-lived) bandwagon on everybody. And since everyone cannot be protown (or the game would be over), I must have just started a bandwagon on scum. And since scum only start bandwagons on protowners, I can't be scum!

There you have it. The last person to vote for everybody is the lynch for today.

(and a final
Unvote, Re-Vote: Akonas
)

FoS: Bertrand
With all due respect, I think he's really, really acting like a n00b. Seems like he took the comment about him being a n00b and ran with it.

ROFL at pie. Bertrand, there is always the possibility of a serial killer or other roles. Also, scum do often try do distance themselves. While it may seem like WIFOM, that doesn't mean that you can ignore it. I know many a game in which scum have even run partners up and gotten them lynched, simply because they are then in a position of trust within the town.

I don't think that my claiming at this point in the game will help us catch scum. It is so easy to fake a claim, what with all the characters in the many comics. And many of them may be neutral, or win purely based on settling grudges with other characters. So I'm just going to say that one of my win conditions is to have all scum eliminated, and town win.

No one would claim different... I'm sorry but I really think it would help. Faking a claim is easy but sometimes claims can be proven... I think anyone saying they are on the town's side doesn't really count as a claim.

When you claim, if you have a role action, that makes it worthwhile. We can then test you with information. Simple rolenames do nothing.

Eh, Not so much. There are a few testable claims. I would, for one, advocate testing your claim to prove your alignment rather than just lynching you.

Pie, apologies, I saw the vote count and missed the vote

Akonas, there are other ways we can assess a claim also; for example we can look to see if there is some consistency between your name/role type/win conditions.

We can also assess how a person reacts to being asked to claim, and frankly, your "Woe is me, claims are useless" argument worries me.
I replaced into Chess Mafia for 6 months, and all I got was a win and this lousy sig.

QFT.
We aren't asking you to believe in claiming. We're telling you: we don't trust you. We want a claim, and that's where your best survival chances (if a townie) lie. Sorry.

Double posting to say:

I'm trying really hard to not be flaming here. I really do think Bertrand is a decent player, but he's been a little confused this game. I'm not trying to be one of those people who screams "OMG you n00bzorz" whenever someone disagrees with me. If it's coming across that way at all, I'm sorry.

He isn't saying all n00bs are scum or the Road to Rome would have a lot of very quick games... He said you are acting dumb and I was just asking you if you were acting. I don't know how someone can misunderstand what he said unless they were trying...

TSAGod talked about the stronger wagon, not me. But the very fact that you say starting a bandwagon on scum confirms you innocent is proof enough that it doesn't. The motivation for bandwagoning fellow scum is: It makes you look innocent in the eyes of the town.

Yeah, I got that. But when scum bandwagons scum they generally don't start a powerful wagon to get their partner lynched, they start a weaker one when the stronger one is going.

So you say you don't know what the stronger wagon is?

It may not be someone's intention to get their scum buddy lynched but if the wagon is stronger than they thought it would be, they are not going to suddenly declare they are wrong are they?
