So Fate made a mechanic where you have to log in and out of Quicktopic to post or risk modkill, requires 0.5 seconds to break the anonymity (just agree to post a specific phrase at start of day) and is more or less functionally identical to:

It's much more mechanically annoying. Quicktopic doesn't like you having two names. You'd be very likely to have at least one post from "CES" or something in the topic, which would quickly be like 'jigs up' in terms of anonymity.

And then you have the fact it's functionally identical to a 'best fakeclaim' award.
Has very little thematic content (the person in question cheated Faye out of millions of dollars, they're not friends)

@ AGM: I highly doubt that Faye would be a fakeclaim.

CES does have quite the fake-claim, I admit that. He's also already on my scum list, so I'm okay with lynching him today.

However, I feel like today would be the best day to lynch LLD if we think she's scum.
She claimed the bounty. That means that, scum or town, her death would allow for all our powers to take effect. GreyICE can hide behind someone, I can motivate, and CES-Kdub can get their QT. We can get information out of that 2morrow. Then Kdub can see who on the wagon was scum.

The problem: On the chance that I'm wrong and LLD flips town, my power is...too strong if I use it on the wrong person.

Ugh, in the process of writing that I'm beginning to think its too risky, but its something to think about.

Well, there are several mechanical issues with CES's claim, one of which Grey has pointed out. It seems like a very contrived ability to me. You are a neighborizer...but you have no choice who to neighborize? You have to activate it, even though you have no choice who your target is? Why not just skip all the unnecessary mechanics and just say "your bounty reward is to become neighbors with the player who is character X"?

I'm willing to hammer, anyone have any objections?

@GreyICE - WHAT THE FUCK @ 1462. That was the PERFECT FUCKIN TIME TO GAMBIT TOASTY. Look at that really awesome fence-sit he's got going there. You shoulda been like, "yeah I'd be cool with it" and see whether he'd a) agree with you (despite it being the obviously WRONG MOVE), gaining him scum points or b) further develop the idea of it being bad on his own, thus granting him town points.

If you're gonna have a self-declared meta of being a tricksy trapper, you have to at least DO IT RIGHT.

I mean seriously, if we had bounties, we'd confirm toasty instantly (since his bounty can't be scum with a 1-shot assassin and a lyncher), we'd confirm Faye is town, we'd confirm that CES has that ridiculous power, etc.

That's all he's speculating on. Unfortunately, I have this sneaking suspicion the bounty mechanic will never come in to play. Which would be kinda lulzy.

Sorry, I thought you were referring to waiting for people giving input on CES's claim who haven't commented on it yet.

Well, since we know which players are eligible to be a future bounty, we can still use the presence of the mechanic to analyze various events, even if the bounties themselves don't get activated. I'll elaborate tomorrow when we have more info, but hopefully you catch my drift.
