Good job to VP Baltar in particular. I think you were the Cultist who most appeared town on the basis of play alone. The others seemed a bit scummy to me, granted that I thought half the town was scum, too.

Good game Town ... despite some overall questionable Town play (Cowering more than once ... really) and selfish greedy bastards going Murder you got it together and pulled out a win.

Overall my impression of the Scum was that they played at worst a solid game and got screwed over by some untimely missed kills.

After reading the first couple hundred posts in the Scum QT I now know to call Andy scum pre-emptively in any game I am Town we play together.

Best Town decision of the game IMO? xvart murdering Furc. It cleared up a mislynch in the offing and confirmed him as non-scum.

Zach - Chesskid jumps in every game that ends that I played to troll me.
"I am a leaf on the wind ... watch how I soar!"

Pretty much Geriatric game restricted at this point ... unless there are players I REALLY want to play with.

Good game. I'm sorry for sort of flaking out at times. This game taught me a lesson that I really have to be isolated to a single game or two to play a mechanics heavy game. I wish I would have continued to go the Murderer route even after my Benmage stalk failed. I'm anxious to see the full night actions but from skimming the Sanctum QT I think my next stalk would have failed due to being warded by the Cult; but man, that would have been sweet to try. With the personal things going on I probably would not have been able to keep track of any lying that I would have had to do; but I could have kept up the absent minded professor act. :)

Obviously I'm terrible at night actions but I will freely admit that it felt so good to vig Furcolow. That made the whole game worth it right there. And for reference, when I softly said something about his behavior not emulating town behavior I was referring to Succession mafia where he was basically strung up to L-1 (pretty much the same circumstances as this game) and he was not as volatile in that game. I couldn't get over that.

Fun notes about the actions.

Scum didn't hear any Noise N0. That means nobody targeted any of them with anything.

Almost all of Plum's Noise was due to people Investigating her every Night.

All of Iecerint's Insanities were from Stalks. Iecerint never tried to Murder.

All but one of VasudeVa's actions (Search doesn't count) failed. Trilobite wasn't far behind.

As a general rule, until the scum had to scramble they had fewer Insanities than the Town.

Commentary.

At this point the game as it has been run has been cracked. If this game comes up again, there will necessarily be a different mechanic to play with.

Complaints about the game being overcomplicated are entirely warranted. It was just a bit too much for the mods to take care of, and it's not much of a surprise that the players got confused too. Granted, this is more a feature of the setup than a bug, but etc.

Vote-based Insanities (except Suicidal) are terrible ideas from a mod-maintenance point of view.

One of the major reasons the game was cracked is because the Investigators held together and monitored every action. While this is within the spirit of how Percy envisioned the game, it wasn't in mine and it's in
neither
of ours at this point. Half the point of things like vote-based Insanities is that the scum want to try to slip it by the watchful eyes of the Town; organized testing defeats the purpose. I'm pretty sure the players didn't find it all that fun to go through, either.
To that end, I believe the best solution is to cut deadlines WAY way down to the point where keeping track of actions and ordering people around would simply be infeasible within the time limit. One can argue that that would push the balance back into scum's favor, but that can be worked with. I'm coming to buy into 10-day deadlines in general, because that's about when Days start stagnating even in other games. Two weeks for D9 and D10 were too much.

In the future, if you're Cult, consider NOT Warding people who are being Stalked. (But consider Resuscitating them.~)

I don't think it was really game-breaking. It trades the (significant) utility of Occult Books for a limited number of free vigs that cripple the town. That's not to mention situations like mine where someone got 6 insanities from being ordered to stalk and restalk and restalk and restalk over and over.

Why did cult start claiming more insanities than they had at the end? Makes no sense to me.

It also makes the town more vulnerable to Murderer defection, though that didn't happen this game.

That was actually from the beginning of the game when we thought occult books would be in play more. We were stock piling them so we'd always show up as "not more insane" than everyone else. It didn't really hamper us in any way and was a good safety mechanism just in case. That's why meat shield cult members like Baby Spice and Spyrex had so many insanities at their flips.

I disagree with this. I don't think furcolow would have been mislynched (he certainly wouldn't have been until I was dead, at any rate). The one-shot vig is, in my mind, for killing scum, with the confirming as a bonus. No offense, xvart, but Furcolow was a terrible, terrible shot.
