Rabble rabble rabble!

Ok fun while it lasted but let's get back to shaving the rainbow flavored sheep. We all know this Gorrad thing was just a cry for attention...

Lame parody, I know. But Korlash, I'm a replacement and I feel D1 has gone on too long. It's over.

I think there's stuff directed at me, but I'll reply when it's not a half hour to midnight.

You want a lame parody... I can do that...

The scene is a small case shop in Southern Kent.

Man: good morning.
Salesman: Morning Sir. Welcome to the national Case emporium.
Man: Ah, thank you my good man.
Salesman: what can I do for you today?
Man: Well I was sitting in the public Library on Therman street Thumbing through Open Letter of an Optimist by Hugh Walpole When I suddenly came over all Peckish.
Salesman: Peckish Sir?
Man: Esurient.
Salesman: eh?
Man: Eee yabba All Bored like!
Salesman: Ah, bored with the day then.
Man: In a nutcase! And I thought to myself "a little fermented Drivel will do the trick!" So I curtailed my Walpoling activites, sallied forth, and infiltrated your place of purveyance to negotiate the vending of some Crazy Consumables!
Salesman: Come again?
Man: *slight chuckle* I want to see a case.
Salesman: Certainly sir, what would you like?
Man: Well how about a little Red Herring?
Salesman: I'm afraid we're fresh out of Red Herring Sir.
Man: oh never mind, how are you on a sack of contradictions?
Salesman: I'm afraid we never have those at the end of the week, sir. We get them fresh on Monday.
Man: Pish Tosh. No matter. Well, stout Thatch seller, four instances of unscrupulous use of the word 'menagerie', if you please.
Salesman: Ah. They've been on back order, sir, for four weeks. I was expecting it this morning.
Man: It's not my lucky day, is it? Er, Vote Hopping?
Salesman: sorry Sir.
*in the interest of time*: Scummy remarks? No. Using sheeps as a plural form? no. Bussing, buddying, Bed Wetting? No sir. Carre-de-L'Est, Bresse-Bleu, Boursin? Those are cheeses sir. Cival, probate? Wrong cases. Camembert? Cheese again sir. /etc
Man: not much of a case shop, is it?
Salesman: Finest in the district sir.
Man: explain the logic underlying that conclusion please.
Salesman: I don't understand logic sir...
Man: Well in that case I shall have to kill you.
Salesman: make's sense.

And scene... Cut for time obviously, but you get the drift...

Aside from the obvious plagiarism and the basterdisingly short version, I think that went well. Four out of nine stars. I like how you seem to admit you want gorrad lynched only to end the day, yet half the people on his wagon claim the "WW wagon to be the easy one"... Seem you'd not only get your intended goal but actually do something useful "switching sides" as it were...
It's not my job to be right, it's my job to be convincing.

Final Day 1 Vote Count

Players needed to lynch: 11

"Punishment is now unfashionable... because it creates moral distinctions among men, which, to the democratic mind, are odious. We prefer a meaningless collective guilt to a meaningful individual responsibility."
- Thomas Szasz

Gorrad
- 11 - iamausername, Cyberbob, SpyreX, Antihero, inHimshallibe, yabbaguy, nocase, farside22, Dutch one, Dripping Goofball, RedCoyote
werewolf555
- 3 - Chevre, Korlash, curiouskarmadog
Chevre
- 2 - Seraphim, Xalxe
nocase
- 2 - Gorrad, werewolf555
DrippingGoofball
- 1 - Kmd4390
Antihero
- 1 - Weatherman

Players not voting:
PokerFace

The town squabbles for hours. exact half the town demands Gorrad's lynch while the other half is either against it or is apathetic. One pro-lynch member of the town even arranges a small skit to hope lure that final deadly vote, but nothing works. Gorrad had given his final say and now was simply waiting for his fate.

Suddenly RedCoyote comes down on horseback from the western mountains. He appraises the situation. And accepts that it is indeed time for Gorrad's lynching. He casts the deciding vote as the sun sets.

Gorrad, a
Vanilla Townie
, is lynched on Day 1.

Gorrad's PM:
Role Name:
Vanilla Townie

Active Abilities:
  • None
Passive Abilities:
  • None
Groups:
  • None
Victory Condition:
  • You win when all players with a "Dangerous" win condition have been removed from the game.

Night is over in 3 days (February 12th, 2011 @ approx. 6am EST).

Xtoxm - please PM me during the Night (whether you have an active ability or not) to confirm play.

20 players went to sleep, but only 17 woke up.

The first victim was the shady werewolf555. Despite so many people being sure of his guilt, a search of his position shows that he was just a simple innocent townie.

The second victim was bad news for town. Dr. farside22 was no more.

The third victim was good news! The mysterious Xalxe had more than a few loose screws. He was a serial killer was a disturbing extra power.

werewolf555, a
Vanilla Townie
, was killed on Night 1.
farside22, a
Doctor
, was killed on Night 1.
Xalxe, a
Delaying Serial Killer
, was killed on Night 1.

farside22's PM:
Role Name:
Doctor

Active Abilities:
  • Doctor: At night, choose a player to heal. That player will be protected from a single kill attempt.
Passive Abilities:
  • None
Groups:
  • None
Victory Condition:
  • You win when all players with a "Dangerous" win condition have been removed from the game.

Xalxe's PM:
Role Name:
Delayer Serial Killer

Active Abilities:
  • Killer: At night, choose a player to kill. You will make a single kill attempt against that player.
  • Delayer: At night, choose a player to delay. Their ability will take place the following night phase.
Passive Abilities:
  • None
Groups:
  • None
Victory Condition:
  • You win when you are the only player remaining in the game or nothing can prevent the same. This win condition is considered "Dangerous".

It is now Day 2. There is a deadline that I will keep secret but I'll let you know when you are 3 days from it.

Note: Please refer to my ruleset about how I handle V/LA players and potential night choices.
Mod wrote:If you have a role with a Night action your choices are due to me by the posted deadline. If I do not receive your choice via PM by the posted deadline your night actions will be randomized. Please note that no action is a random possibility.

WEREWOLF IS TOWN. I TOLD YOU ALL SO. I'M RIGHT. *rave song plays, ego is visibly seen inflating*

Umm...

Vote: Chevre

Antihero is an intriguing case, but I would, once again, like to label him as a complacency lynch until a) I actually read through his input and interactions into the game and b) well... at least Chevre goes through. I'm still sure that nocase is a good follow-up to that, but clearly very few are swayed by that argument. >:(

Wait a sec...
Crap! We lost a doctor.
FoS: Dutch one
for committing the "Well, That Sucks" tell. Also, as I look at the ISO, a lot of aggressiveness and confidence shows, as if he's sure he has a good handle on the game. I mean, I've been a loudmouth for part of the game myself, but here's where his scumminess shows:
DGB, I know you are making a list like this a lot (other people say that, so I assume that is true), but it's an easy tactic to place yourself in the "town" list. With making this list you more influence in the lynching system because it makes people almost think they have to prove themself that they are townies. And because it's your list, because you are doing this often and because you placed yourself in the townie-list, you don't have to prove anyone, and you get away with it.
Contrived, but alignment-null. Still, we proceed.
Yes, I totaly agree with you :roll: definately a townie hunting for scum.
The cynicism strikes me as a Mafioso talking.
ok... so you are voting for Chevre because she said exactly the same that I had in my mind? And anoher thing, I replied about your questions and the only thing you reply with is "Huh? Am I defending DGB?" And after that post I'm suddenly not suspicious anymore in your eyes. That is a really easy way to get away with it.

FoS Jerbs
This is another lynch that I'm sure won't go through but might be worthwhile somewhere down the line. In what I've seen, people who usually have a more inflated confidence about the game than usual often attempt to paint some good-sounding case from one thing and display it to Town as if it were obvious truth. It's a sort of confidence that stems from the position of knowing the answers to everyone's alignment, even moreso now that Xalxe has exited the game.

Yo DGB I wasn't on any wagon at the end there. I was not all caught up. I did get caught up during the night though so thats all good. I wrote this during the last night.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
@RC
http://www.mafiascum.net/forum/viewtopi ... 2#p2772322
why did you self quote here? Did you question your own reads of seraphim or did i totally misread?
In reading RC's post I come across another question. I don't think Werewolf asked for farside to be modkilled I thought he wondered if farside would for something he had done before. I don't think he asked for farside to die back there. Do you disagree?
Elaborating on reads
Seraphim
- xtoxm needs to play
RedCoyote
- weatherman has been bringing up some good points on so i have been rethinking things on him. His jump from WW to gorrad did feel a little contrived
Weatherman
- any chance you can say who you are an alt of? I feel I have played with you before. Your bored mentallity rings town but your round about statements throw me for a loop, need to figure out who you are to see which actually matters when reading you. Are you all caught up in the game or you still catching up? At what time were you caught up btw?
DrippingGoofball
- I have had the misfortune of playing against DGB alot. The majority of the games I have been in with her, one of us has been scum and the other has been town. Us both being town happens rarely and we have never been scum together. She nearly destroyed me in loser mafia and I wish i had voted differently in the invitational. He play here does not feel like the scum play I would normally expect from her. She seems to be going after who she thinks is scum as apposed to easiest to lynch
Kmd4390
- lurker have not read enough of his stuff to get a read. he is actually lurker site wide which is rather uncommon for him so i really don't know what to think
Cyberbob
- townish somthing about his earlier posts struck me as town. Call it gut if you want
yabbaguy
- townish
SpyreX
- town
Chevre
- Confusing. I am having trouble dealing with you sophisticated playstyle. I'll figure something out
iamausername
- have not read enough of his stuff to get a read
nocase
- crypto seems town outside the bogus pr stuff earlier
inHimshallibe
- I still see him as looking bad from the post restriction thing since he seemed to verify nocases pr statement. Everybody was all like this must be a joke given the rules but he's all like its true its real because I have one too... NOT!
Korlash
- easily town. he never posts this much content as scum
Antihero
Dutch one
- his jump on gorrad seems questionable. I am surprised he gave up on WW and did he ever say he found gorrad scumy? I don't believe he did. Also he just now made some classic scum tells
Dutch one wrote:Crap! We lost a doctor. well, at least Xalxe is gone. But I'm quite disappointed that both Gorrad and Werewolf turned out to be VT's.
Yes, I did say he was scummy. Look at my town/scum reads (from some time ago). The fact that you didn't know that tells me that you haven't really analyzed my posts. I think you are only voting for me because Yabbaguy just accused me, and you think I'm an easy wagon to jump on.
