The Setup was;

Town (9):

1 shot Bulletproof
Bullet Proof Compulsive Bodyguard (Dies on a sucessful protect)
Vanilla Townie Cop (Returns VT or not VT)
Tracker
Very Vengeful Townie (Gets a kill if they are lynched or night killed)
4 VTs

Scum (3):

Predator (Any kill they make doesn't flip until the end of the next day)
Seductress (Any kill they make strips their target of all abilities)
Businessman (Any kill they make can't be tracked or roleblocked)

Before I give my thoughts on the setup / how it played out I'd love to hear some feedback.

I think the setup was good, possibly slightly town sided.

Ie: Scum had no idea to use seductress to kill certain players (ie: Fate on night 1), I mean there was no reason to actually use her it seemed.

As for my ability, with no Vig, there wasn't much point to creating confusion with night kills, asyou could always assume whoever died was town.

Town was pretty heavy on the PR side, and scum didn't really even have a roleblocker or any kind of power (just 1 or 2 abilities that could nullify one or two of the PRs), I do think we were a bit unlucky and the game isn't heavily town favored but at least slightly so, but I'd rather that given how easy scum seem to win games now a days.

Some of the timing and just how it played out was down right unlucky ie: with the VT cop claiming last in mass claim, and enigma probably would have been lynched if he stayed in the game. Anyways, well played town, agree PRs won it for the most part, but you can't take away from them entirely with that.

Night 1:

Fate guards Zdenek.
Enigma investigates Nachomamma8 and finds out he's not a VT
DDD shoots Fate but the kill fails.

Night 2:

Fate guards DDD.
Enigma investigates Oopidstay and finds he's a VT
DDD kills Lateralus.

Night 3:

Fate guards SpyreX.
SpyreX investigates DDD and finds out he's not a VT.
DavidParker kills SpyreX but Fate takes the kill for him!

Night 4:

SpyreX investigates LMP finding out he's a VT.
DavidParker kills SpyreX

I almost rage-snapped from the grave when DP didn't get power lynched (and I didn't say anything the day before because I thought YOU KNEW) but:

You don't block a hider. Come on guys. SHEESH.

And manipulating the flips, normally, is a huge scum swing. Just think if I got run up said I was a cop and flipped vanilla.

There would be chaos.

I know right. You even wrote the pseudo code for it, but I couldn't get them to run Wingame() with me. *shrug*

This setup seems to favor the town, but probably not by much.

@TBM: I don't know how others feel about this, but I'd prefer a bit more info from you during the game, mostly day and night deadlines in the vote counts/lynch scenes. I had a lot of fun, thanks for running the game for us!

Yeah, sorry about not being around much on the last day. Looks like things got done without me, though.

@ Button: Lots of interesting abilities. 1-shot BP + NK Immune Bodyguard + Super-Vengeful seems a bit OP by itself, though. The Predator's ability was kinda useless (like DP said), and although scum had kills that could either counter the Super-Vengeful or the Bodyguard, it would need to actually use the right kill on the right person for that to be effective. The game was fun to play overall, though, even if rl got hold of me later on. :P

@ Fitz: Well, at least my reread of you was right about you not being scum. You did overreact quite a bit to what I said on Day 1. :P It helps sometimes to just step back and look at things from a less-tunneled point of view (that's what got me off of you).

@ Smarg: Seriously...what the hell was with that awful case on me? Not trying to be mean, here, but there was enough bad reasoning in that case to lynch a bloated hippo. Maybe be more careful before throwing out your accusations next time?

@ Mariyta: I cried over your body. Satisfied?

@ Fate: You got lucky that Spyrex replaced in and forced the Nachoclaim, because otherwise this would've been a very different game. That said, nice job confirming Nachoscum.

@ Spyrex: You need an award or something, because you pretty much singlehandedly saved the town win.

I think like everyone that the setup is too town biased; two investigative roles for the town? And two roles that can only be killed by one particular scum player? Hell, you even tossed in some mod-WIFOM on the scum to play with even more given that my roles couldn't be tracked or roleblocked, but there was no roleblocker. All in all there's too much in there that relies on luck instead of skill.

Also a bit annoyed that the best town player at the time with a strong PR basically got to pick one of the replacements for the game.

I knew SpyreX was going to investigate me; if SpyreX investigated me and was still alive the next day then town would run TOWNWIN, game over. Thus on the outside chance that you were lying (which you were just not in a useful way to us) or were too lazy to submit a night action or any other improbable thing then SpyreX would die. Suddenly you're no longer confirmed to the town, and even if DP is lynched instead of you I'm headed to MYLO with Oopid, Fitz, and LMP who all hated each other in this game and everyone thinks I'm just a regular vanilla townie in which case I actually like my chances. Basically the
only
route to victory was with SpyreX kicking the bucket so we played that low percentage chance because it was the only thing we could do that might have won us the game.

Scum basically had no PR in a sense. Their abilites were situationally useful, however, they had no idea how or where to use them. IE: There was no motive for us to use Nacho's ability that rolelocked the player he was targetting, I mean it semi-implied there may be something like a body guard, but why not just use the track/roleblock-immune killer for every kill?? My night-kill ability was kinda cool, but considering we had no Vig or other night kills, any night kill could be assumed to be on town, and after mass claim, it didn't really matter there was no flip. Even early on, not seeing a flip doesnt matter much with 1 night kill, because assumption is they are town.

@Oopid; Spyrex more or less just used his role info that had already been used; I mean he played it well from there, but it's a lot easier to play town when you know who is scum based on role information.

Oopid et al, what's all this THANK GOD SPYREX YOU IS TOWN SAVIOR.

FFS I'm tired of not getting credit for my play.

LOOK AT MY READS before Enigma was replaced.

I had DDD down, I had DP nailed (via Nacho's bussing) and DP's claim, and I had nacho SECRETELY nailed because his "I don't want Fate to claim" REEKED of the insider knowledge that I was protected N1 (which, in actuality, I knew I wasn't) so I knew he was setting up to fakeclaim Doc.


SpyreX just put on the finishing touches and decided the order we lynched him in. If he hadn't of investigated Nacho it woulda been DP lynch->DDD Lynch->Nacho claim->Me counter, etc. or something along those lines.

I see youre reasoning DDD now, and that's a good example of why a doc should NEVER out WIFOM scum and ALWAYS protect the "Right" target (aka the cop or the confirmed town)

I knew almost certainly no one was going to claim doctor which is why I was trying to force Fate to full-claim and why I was stating I'd push his lynch given no doctor-claim (since his semi-claim relied on there being a doctor). I knew there was bait in there somewhere.

However, spyrex coming in with role information, meant scum was found and fate could be ignored :/


Also, I thought there was a mod mistake when you died Spyrex. I was like, "huh, didn't we change target from Fate to spyrex?".

Also, you are entirely wrong in thinking if spyrex hadn't come along it would of gone DP lyncH>DDD>Nacho etc. I woulda been gunning you hardddddddddddddd.


There was a lot this game to trip up scum, but nothing to really trip up town or backfire upon them.

Your first two lynches were on town. Your next two lynches on scum were entirely on role information. Your final scum lynch was not based on role information, but because of the flips of both scum and a bad role claim.

I don't see how it was very likely you were to hit scum with your lynches than town based on the track history there :/

I was lynching people that weren't obvtown in order to narrow down the field, that's a perfectly legitimate way to play mafia.

Role information just happened to help narrow down the suspects and finish everything with a nice tight bow, but it could've just as easily been finished without it.

Meh LMP and Fitz were town on town and such was my read for a long time. Oopid was pretty near-town the whole time.

Zdenek could go either way ESPECIALLY because I WAS bulletproof.

Smarg needed to die.

Mariyta is the only regret I have she shouldnt have been shot the way she fearlessly voted Smarg.

Enigma was just that-thankfully he had a good claim to back his play
