@Oman: That particular quest made me want to rip my hair out when I was levelling my main. Targetting those speedy little fuckers is almost impossible on a touchpad.Because, no matter how you dress it up, that's what the world is. Twink is just an alt that is in the high level of the PvP bracket for that level range (which is now a 5 level range).gandalf5166 wrote:
Twinks are level 19(sometimes 29) alts created exclusively for PvP that are fed by mains so that they have ridiculous gear. And I'm sure about that one.xRECKONERx wrote:Those are twinks.
Toons are just characters. All characters.
Has anyone leveled an Orc, Troll or Tauren and stayed on Kalimdor? The first few areas kinda suck, but Ashenvale is easily becoming one of the best redone zones I've seen yet.
Also, how high are all these alts on Lightning's Blade?Ski mask? Check! Sawed off? Check! Guilty conscience, fear of death? Check! Check! Check!

Alright, I made a blood elf pally on Lightning's Blade. Figured I'd roll a utility class.
Carndor - Level 1 Blood Elf Paladin - Lightning's Blade.
For the love of god someone add me so once I get to the higher levels I'm not just buffooning around alone.Ski mask? Check! Sawed off? Check! Guilty conscience, fear of death? Check! Check! Check!

Well, the command board gave me a quest to go to Searing Gorge, so I guess it's that next.xRECKONERx wrote:If you follow the string of quests, EP will lead to Badlands...and I'm pretty sure Badlands leads to Searing Gorge, though I'm not totally sure yet.

I have alts in all different levels on LB.
In other news, Brock & I convinced dramonic to start playing WoW. That means it's only a matter of time before Brock starts playing Mafia, too
Brock & I already have our own Horde guild on LB called Lazercanonpewpew, so we could just use that as the unofficial MS.net guild for now. It's just me, Brock, and two of my RL friends that rarely play anymore.green shirt thursdays-

So, I asked this question offsite and got a few good responses there, but what are some good addons that make things look/sound better and/or improve the UI?
Here's what I already have:
- Hear Kitty (gives sounds to combo point gains/uses)
- Gatherer (tracks herbs and other nodes)
- ErrorFilter (gets rid of redtext)
I was already recommended Recount, which I'll acquire soon (and then figure out how to work it <_<). I was also recommended Auctioneer, which I didn't like because it just made everythingmorecomplicated, at first glance anyways. As it says in the OP, I main a Rogue, but sometimes play on a Hunter or Mage. In case you'd like to recommend class-specific addons.
Thanks in advance.
(also, I just joined a guild called The Evil League Of Evil. Best guild name ever.)If you don't know how to lie, then how do you know when you're being lied to?

Auctioneer is good for making sure you don't undersell what you gather. Just run it each time you log on and then use its recommended pricing to list your items. Don't get sucked in to undercutting.
I like MiksScrollingBattleText for keeping track of fights. Bar mods like Bartender and character window mods like XPerl or Pitbull are great for freeing up a lot of the clutter on the screen, which helps keep you alive/ready for what's next.Show"I'm from Indiana. I second Auctioneer and MSBT. Everything that comes with the Auctioneer Suite are fantastic (informant, enchantrix). Both very useful. Personalyl, I use(d) Dominoes for my bar mod and AG_unitframes for the unit frames. Quartz is a great substitute for the default cast bar. If your tooltip is getting in the way, Cowtip does wonders with that. Rating Buster (if still maintained) is very good for comparing stats on gear.Defined by who I dislike, not who I like~-

I've been hesitant to try out any of the actionbar mods because they scare me. I would say Auctioneer is my most useful addon. For ones that haven't been mentioned:
-Bagnon: Contains all your bag windows into one single window. Easier organization of bags.
-SWDeathWatch: For any shadow priests, this simple mod watches the enemy's health bar for when it drops below 25%, then notifies you it is time to use SW: Death with a 'FINISH HIM' that pops up.
-Recount: I use this as my DPS meter. Some people prefer Skata. Either one works, though I've found Recount to be more accurate.
-InFlight Taxi Timer: Puts a small cooldown bar in the center of the screen while taking taxi flights from one place to the next so you know exactly how long you don't have to pay attention.
As far as the actionbar mods go...which one is really the most recommended? My boyfriend uses bartender4, but I've seen so many options I don't know what to do.
Also, Flameaxe: is PlayerScore still the standard for comparing gearscore, or does Rating Buster work too?green shirt thursdays-

I had to hold it until I got home and had an external mouse. Also, saving the bears is almost cuter.Kairyuu wrote:@Oman: That particular quest made me want to rip my hair out when I was levelling my main. DeadlyBossMods - Timers and warnings (above and beyond the inbuilt ones) for all bosses. Also has a cool timer feature so that you can break records Has timers for all Battlegrounds too so that you know when towers will fall etc
Omen or similar - Threat meter, know when you're going to pull aggro (again, just better than the inbuilt one)
Echoing Recount. If you're DPS you need to know where you're falling so that you can maintain or modify as required. It's unfortunate that good oral sex excuses bad chemistry. - Korts-

Well, I've always been one of those players who hates the idea behind a gearscore (assuming we have the same idea of what a gearscore is). Rating Buster takes the raw stats from a piece of gear (agi, str, crit rating) and calculates how much actual stats you'll get out of it in a more player friendly format, such as crit rating to crit percent. It'll compare the item with the stats of the current piece of gear you are wearing, if you gain/lose stats from equipping that. Personally, I find it to be a much more useful resource than anything you'd get out of gearscore. Also, Flameaxe: is PlayerScore still the standard for comparing gearscore, or does Rating Buster work too?
(The image should make my explanation make sense...)
Also, I was hesitant to try the actionbar mods at first too, but I am so glad I did. It really gets rid of a lot of useless clutter in your UI and makes more room for customizing it to your own liking. As for which one, I'd just try one out here and there. Like i said, I tried Dominos, and liked it, so I kept it. The snap feature can get annoying sometimes, but once you have everything set where you want it, it doesn't matter too much.
Thought of another too: OmniCC, it puts a big number over a spell with a cooldown instead of the whole shaded out button that rotates back to normal.Defined by who I dislike, not who I like~-
