Why do I get the feeling that everyone in this game knows someone else in the game except for me? And why do I get the feeling is going to be an extra big headache to follow because of that.

A bit late for random votes, don't you think?

I don't know anyone either (this is only my 3rd game on the site...). What are your reasons for voting Zednek?
If I wanted to give reasons or make clear to others why I voted the way I did I would've done so with my initial post.

Withholding reasons like that is anti-town. It's day 1 so it's not like you're a cop trying to avoid a claim; there is no pro-town reason right now not to explain your vote.
That's one of the most asinine and simplistic things I've read in a good long while; thanks for the laugh.

First off, I didn't insult her; I belittled her argument which deserved the mockery bestowed upon it. And second, there are plenty of reasons not to give a reason on a vote and I think it suggests either a major lack of creativity to suggest there are no reasons to do what I did or a willful denial of the possibilities as to slander me.

Here's the crazy thing; if you tell people what you're looking for; they generally try to pander to or against that depending on what makes sense. It's the concealed nature of such a technique that makes it a useful tool.

I will note that because of my vote I'm leaning town on Antihero and CityofAs and leaning scum on one of you and Mariyta but not both of you.

I'd like you to explain this logic because I have never seen it before. How can someone's vote be the reason for their reads?
Should be obvious that its because of their reaction to my vote which is caused by my vote; I just didn't bother spelling out all the intermediate connections.

That hasn't been answered yet, DDD.
I actually did answer it; either you chose to skip over it or I was too subtle. Either way I'll be quite blunt this time. In the general case reaction fishing was certainly a goal of mine from my vote and as I mentioned it was a successful one this time. As for specific reasons? Well I'll mention those when I believe they are necessary and proper and not when random player X decides to yell really loudly based off what I presume is a poorly thought out argument about keeping information from the town.

Zdenek wrote:Danny, to what extent do you trust your "asks me the reasons for my vote so he must be town" town-tell?
Well I'm not going to bet the game on it, but it seems a decent place to start. I think genuine curiosity make more sense from town especially when the counterpoint of Mari and Smargret provides such a contrast and so much more likely to be scum driven.

~~~
I wish most of you people would take a nice dose of shutthefuckup; it would make this game so much easier and better.
~~~

LMP and OopidStay really store Fitz and his lame arguments apart, but right and wrong are basically irrelevant in my book when it comes to catching scum. Minimal reads on the lot of them; noise to sound ratio is simply way too high for them.

~~~
It would totally not surprise me if Zdenek was scum; he asks me a question and then before I even get a chance to answer he's already issuing an opinion on the matter? That suggests to me that he's not interested in my motivations or the truth of the matter and just want to stake out a position.
How the hell do you get from me not liking your town-tell to me not being interested in your motivations or the "truth of the matter?"
I get there pretty easily when you ask for my input and then go ahead and issue a statement about the same topic without waiting for my input suggesting that the asking of the question is for show and you'd already decided what your opinion on the matter was going to be regardless of what I said.
News and Notes:
Zdenek’s claim doesn’t fit with the “omg claim will make my ability useless” paranoia. Not happy that his wagon fell apart.
Fate’s argument against his lynch is super-bad; a hypothetical vig shooting someone else will prove his role? Possibly, but it won’t prove his alignment at all which is the relevant thing.
I’m also quite tired of Fate’s “Well I didn’t really care about the game at that point…. or this point” shtick. I’ve actually pulled the same trick before as scum because people are usually willing to dismiss you when you’re willing to admit those sort of things.
However, smargret’s case was really terrible as I think the hyena ably demonstrated; her motivations are unclear to me however.
While I actually kind of like the lurker pressure Mariyta’s vote is framed in such a way that it looks more like easy targeting rather than an attempt to motivate or lynch a player.
Fate wrote:Why would scum claim ONE-SHOT bulletproof? To make a vig shoot at him twice?
Maybe because he's just uncreative scum and that's his actual ability. Maybe because he doesn't believe a vig will actually waste bullets taking down his vest instead of shooting for his scum partners. Maybe because he thinks it adds more realism to his claim. Maybe he doesn't want to overclaim. Maybe he's just an idiot.
You're just applying an argument from personal incredulity anyways, because you can't come up with a good explanation that means there isn't one; an argument which is an obvious and blatent logical fallacy.
I don't have a problem with her not playing nice with the alliance; what I do have a problem with is her lack of interest in providing a worthwhile substitute whether it be an alternate alliance or alternate lynch. The alliance is clearly a town based attempt to break our current inertia so people need to get on board or provide an adequate alternative. Not doing so is at least aiding and abetting scum if not scum driven inaction.
Where were we, ah yes...
Well obviously David has the most interesting relevant claim as it stands. And it provides two different scenarios.
Town David -> Town Oopid
Which leaves three scum in five players.
I don't think Fitz and LMP are scum together; they're back and forth has been too continual.
And I don't think the sort of buddying behavior I've seen from Nacho and Fate means they're both scum.
Which means Enigma is scum with each half of those pairings. I think Fitz is more likely to be scum than LMP given those constraints.
In that scenario I'm split between Fate and Nacho as the last partner.
Scum David -> Town Oopid (I don't think DP as scum protects a partner, instead he tries to garner good will of a town player)
Two scum in five players.
I think in that case David was fishing for a mislynch in Fitz and probably kept LMP along as a dupe.
And I still don't think the sort of buddying behavior I've seen from Nacho and Fate means they're both scum.
Which means DP, Enigma, plus the unresolved equation of Fate/Nacho.
Either way Enigma is the best bet scum lynch; Fate's out guessing the mod thing is foolish and probably how he managed to lose the Fountainhead as well; also Fate's earlier point about making players commit to their claims is true which is why he shouldn't get a free pass. And finally based on the numbers no lynch is the right play.
Hey SpyreX; do you know if goons show as vanilla as well as VTs or is Oopid confirmed as a VT?
I'm still skeptical but I haven't worked through all the possible permutations in my brain yet but given all the claims I don't think a no lynch can hurt us and would either confirm scum for us or completely break the game open.
Nachoscum confirmed himself scum with a self-vote? Methinks we've found tomorrow's lynch, folks!
Yeah, I might've missed that when I made my post. I would hammer now that I've seen that if not for Fate's request about wanting more time. Anyways it seems as if the last two scum come from the three of DP, fitz, and LMP. DP seems to be obvious scum for a variety of reasons both relating to himself that others have detailed and POE given the perpetual conflict between Fitz and LMP. LMP's flavor questions seem to push him as the more likely to be scum of the two.
Pfft, so I'm not vanilla town, that doesn't mean I'm scum. I didn't claim my role because it looks scummy as fuck but I'm the reason there's no role information attached to Fate; I'm a town-aligned Janitor who if they successfully "clean" a kill gets a vig kill that works only on other Fae which leads me to assume one or both of the remaining scum are Fae.
DavidParker is probably scum; role-blocked my ass and we're back to LMP/Fitz being his partner.
Since you are the only person I believe is town without a shadow of a doubt...why do you think there was no role info with Fate's flip? You obviously don't believe DDDs claim which is fine with me, but before I throw a hammer on him we should get LMP's two cents as well.
And is the fact both DP AND DDD are claiming to have been blocked worth discussing before we jump to conclusions?
If we lynch DDD he is scum. Great. Game on. That means:
- DP is town and hides behind town Spyrex AND
--If SpyreX is killed...2 town down and it's me, Oopidstay and LMP in LYLO
--If SpyreX is VT Cop...scum could just kill DP to implicate SpyreX but I don't think scum would leave townSpyreX alive.
--If SpyreX is scum...DP is killed + NK and it's SpyreX +2. Spyrex lynched, town wins.
- If DP is scum he will survive to tomorrow and lie about his failed 'hide' attempt
--If town SpyreX is still alive...DP lynched. Town wins.
If we lynch DDD and he is telling the truth...we lose.
We should discuss what the options are if DDD is telling the truth to avoid the possible hasty loss.
If DDD is telling the truth I can not see him being the target of a scum block. If I was scum I would have blocked SpyreX. Which begs the question...why didn't scum block SpyreX? WTH would scum have blocked the "hider" if the hider was in fact town? Regardless of who townDP would have hid behind last night (whether he [DP] had lived or died) there would have been no way of knowing for sure what DP had done as he did not say so before we went to in to last night.
tl:dr; I am not 100% convinced DDD is scum. 80%? Maybe. We have two people who had no reason to be blocked who say they have been blocked and one person who logically should have been blocked but wasn't. I think DP's continued existence is more suspect as there would have been purpose for him to hide behind the presumed Fate-nk. What pupose would his [DPs] death have served then (if the hider hides behind town and that townie is killed...the hider dies as well...no?)? What motivation would townDP have had to hide, and die, behind the person who had himself admitted was the most likely NK?
I think DP is the safer lynch. VOTE: DP
I have not claimed to be roleblocked, you can see my handywork above; there's no role information attached to Fate. I assume I wasn't blocked previous nights as I spent the last couple nights targeting Fate expecting him to be killed as to get my ability to resolve.
I didn't claim my role because it looks scummy as fuck but I'm the reason there's no role information attached to Fate; I'm a town-aligned Janitor who if they successfully "clean" a kill gets a vig kill that works only on other Fae which leads me to assume one or both of the remaining scum are Fae.
DavidParker is probably scum;
role-blocked my ass
and we're back to LMP/Fitz being his partner.
@DDD...the bold part of your quote above is what I misread as you saying you were blocked. So are you saying you can vig now? And WTH is "Fae" stand for?
Ah, nope, just extremely skeptical of DP getting blocked; I can't think of a single reason scum would bother to block him especially with SpyreX on the loose. Yes, I can vig now but only players who are Fae (Faerie) like my character.
I think like everyone that the setup is too town biased; two investigative roles for the town? And two roles that can only be killed by one particular scum player? Hell, you even tossed in some mod-WIFOM on the scum to play with even more given that my roles couldn't be tracked or roleblocked, but there was no roleblocker. All in all there's too much in there that relies on luck instead of skill.
Also a bit annoyed that the best town player at the time with a strong PR basically got to pick one of the replacements for the game.
I WAS A GODDAMN CLAIMED DOC
I knew SpyreX was going to investigate me; if SpyreX investigated me and was still alive the next day then town would run TOWNWIN, game over. Thus on the outside chance that you were lying (which you were just not in a useful way to us) or were too lazy to submit a night action or any other improbable thing then SpyreX would die. Suddenly you're no longer confirmed to the town, and even if DP is lynched instead of you I'm headed to MYLO with Oopid, Fitz, and LMP who all hated each other in this game and everyone thinks I'm just a regular vanilla townie in which case I actually like my chances. Basically the
only
route to victory was with SpyreX kicking the bucket so we played that low percentage chance because it was the only thing we could do that might have won us the game.
