Lurking vs. Keeping Quiet

This forum is for discussion related to the game.

Is there a difference?

No... there's no excuse not to post to a game each time you're on mafiascum.

Maybe... not entirely sure. Sometimes I stay quiet, sometimes I'm a chatterbox.

Yes... sometimes it's better to keep quiet than post just for the sake of posting.

Sure enough. :) But you'll almost certainly find someone who'll criticize your posting no matter what style you use. So given that you leave yourself open to this no matter what/how often you post, everyone might as well post to at least make sure the game progresses while this goes on. And though the accusations are made, I think often enough *most* people have the sense to realize that the argument's a stretch.

That's kind of why you have to make posts that have something informative. As long as you contribute to the game no one will accuse you for posting so you don't look like you're lurking.
This is just here so my posts don't look so ugly when I edit them.

I think posting for just the sake of posting so you aren't spotted for "lurking" is retarded. If you don't have anything of quality to post, then don't post it.

Those of you who will play my upcoming
NO LURKERS
 mafia, however, will have no such opportunity :P
When will you make this game? Mini or big? It's the game just for me!

Well, if posting makes people think you aren't mafia, than by all means...
...whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth.

I always felt the lynching lurkers was more of an incentive to get people to post than a strategy to find mafia. Which is why I'll go along with lynching lurkers earlier rather than later. I really can't remember a game where a lurker was lynch and it was mafia.

mini 64. Macros made only 1 post during the game and that contained only one word (confirm). At a certain point during day 1 he was lynched for lurking and turned out to be Mafia.
