I smell a rat. Just did a search for cowardly reporter and found zip, zero occurences other than references to this game. Looking at the wiki, it takes all of two clicks to get to it. I think Illumina checked the wiki for an appropriate role and found this.

The reporter role is pretty powerful if used wisely. If you get a report on a scum, and they don't know it, they're caught if they try to claim townie... Not as powerful as a cop, but if you don't think the scum will want this ability out of the way you're fooling yourself.

I think this makes you not a target, because you can hide at night. Mafia will rather kill someone they can be sure they kill. Also a Watcher isn't this powerful, only under circumstances.

That said, if I believed your claim. I, like d8p, expected a doc claim after your comments. It seems too unlikely to me.
The role isn't that powerful, because it also gets Docs and Vigs and Cops in the same group as Mafia. And if you watch a non-kiling mafia member he seems to be a townie.

This is the important part. Why lynch someone if we can test him? If he's lying he's dead tonight, if he's speaking the truth he is still here tomorrow. As long as no docs or cops target him this can safe us a possibly wrong lynch.

Not sure what you're trying to say here. I don't think anyone in this game is cleared. A claim by itself doesn't mean a whole lot. If it get some supporting evidence, then that's something else.

Ok, before the end of the day, I want from Illumina a detailed discription of what his role does, exctally. A cowardly reporter is a role that has been used before, but that dosn't mean he has the exact same role; I want him to be very specific on exactally what his role is and does. Once we have that, we can formulate a plan on how to test his role. If the role is what I think it is, it should be possible to test it in multiple ways, but that can wait until Illumina gives us a very precise discription of his role.
