I agree with Taz. Making the town play guessing games is anti-town. However, defending someone else's scummy actions the way Xite did is equally as scummy. I don't have a lot of data on Tasky at this point, so I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt for now.

Actually I agree with that top statement, but each site has a different way it ticks. I've seen some players that vote people for explaining their vote because on the site they play, that's scummy. Odd huh?

First, that wasn't the only point to my case, and I've NEVER seen someone in a game (if you have then show me) repeat the same EXACT thing that many times in order to get an answer. Also, he said he had reasons. When I asked him, he accused me of role-fishing when he hinted nothing at a role before hand. This is a common scum trap.

3) It was the way he was playing. I didn't like it. I had a friend once that made an alt solely to act like a blondie noob so that people would respond to him differently than they do when they know it's him. His idea was that people would never vote him after a few games because of the way his alt's "playstyle" was.
4) Guess what? I voted him FIRST before ANYONE voted him and before the wagon started, then people started voting for terrible reasons and CKD became my top suspect, and I decided to unvote.

when confronted with a question where you don't know the "right" answer, a townie will just answer truthfully and say their honest opinion.
a scumbag on the other side, will fear to say something wrong and will have a hard time to decide on a useful guess.
in fact, a mafioso has to be really balanced between saying pro-town things which would then lead to his incrimination (since the original question was to spot scummy things on himself) and disguising the own scumtells. finding a good balance is extremely hard when you know about all the wrong things you did, since you never know whether the other players have already found it (in which case it would be better to say) or not (in which case it would be better to hide it)
playing guessing games is not much about the content of the guess, it's more about the overall reaction.
I think this is one of the few advantages there are in online-mafia over real-life: that you can ask people about their own behavior in a serious way (since even forgotten things can sometimes be found again by a scumhunter who rereads the thread, the balance I described above is much harder to find)

This is either a sincere theory box or an impossibly good ad-lib. I fancy the former is true.

@tasky I find your theory box to be flawed, personally I bet you will get way more opposition from any group, than your current theory suggests, though with some work, possibly in how you present it, it does have possibilities. Even though I find it wrong, it still seems to be a theory that I will probably tinker with in the future, and in fact seems very correct for in person games, which are based highly on emotional tells, and the speeds of votes and such.
