Ahem. You don't
need
a title at all. I know some people on the old board who had over 1000 posts and no title at all. I believe the whole conversation with mole was that titles should not be given just for the sake of having a title.
Agreed. Notice that I don't have a title, even though I'm certainly eligible for one.
I am going to implement a post count system that counts the number of posts in the mafia game threads... and it's going to have some spam protection. Probably a limit of 2 "points" per day or something similar. We'll see how it goes over.

In other words, no, not really. Have you said anything incredibly amusing and/or distinctive? Has anyone else said anything incredibly amusing and/or distinctive about you? And so on and so forth.
...whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth.
~cheers for wacky~
titles should be given when sometihng funny and/or memorable happens, not just because the user wants one.
in fact, i have always thought users shouldn't (in most cases) request titles, if someperson (gah at someones username ) suggests one that others think is funny, pm the user in question, if he sok with it, title them.
but unless it spouts from a terribly amusing moment, users shouldnt request titles themselves (unless it is to be labeled scum again when they tire of their title)
I think it should be both - I have no objections to users requesting their own titles - but if someone sees something amusing, requesting it for someone else should be encourgaged too. (I'm personally curious who was it who requested my title be changed to "John Smith. Really." - but I'm all in favor of the change. Or maybe "The Black Knight. Really."...)
Another possibility - one some other boards, once a user hits a certain post count (say, 1000?) they gain the ability to set their own title...
OK I'll ask to be removed from the title waiting list (until I have something remarkably amusing or distinctive.) No use in having a title just for the sake of having one.
great, i never say anything funny or witty lol whatever, i'll just sit back then

How about "there is no hound"
Editted to add: NS, I assume you are referring partially to brunchma. I've noticed that a lot of people spam at first, just to reach "I have a lot of posts" status *coughBENcough* then sort of trail off. I stopped being spammishly stupid around 200 and just said "screw it, I'm never gonna hit 2100." Now I'm just normal stupid. And of course, now I'm REALLY not ever gonna hit 2100, thanks to Rabs. *thoughts of violence ensue*
Hey, there's a good title for ben. "Spammishly stupid"
Holy crap, I forgot this site existed.

sure, i'll take that title, after all, someones gotta have it, (not really, but whatever) so can mine be "I never say anything funny or witty "

Would it be too much trouble for me to be changed back to "Mafia Scum"? Since my title isn't for anything really special and I think I'd rather wait for something to happen to me. (If something ever does)

Should I keep my title? I'm not sure if I should or not. I think I'll keep it unless I get a popular vote to get rid of it.

Yeah, good idea Talitha. I'll take it!... I mean keep it!

The titles are done in groups...so the first players in a group wait a month or two and the last ones in the group aren't waiting nearly as long.
However, bigben, you may have to wait until you complete a couple of games before you're awarded a title. Sugar's the person to with the final say, but I'm pretty sure title eligibility is based more on experience than post count currently.

aw:( well, your title says it all... "post or perish" and i just dont wanna perish lol
