I would start a RQS, but I hate coming up with random questions, which sorta kills the point.
RVS time I guess.

Vote: skn27

To bold text, use the following tag:

Code: Select all

[b]TEXT[/b]

This will show up as:
TEXT

You can also
italicize
:

Code: Select all

[i]TEXT[/i]

...as well as
underline
:

Code: Select all

[u]TEXT[/u]

There are other things you can do as well. To see the full range, click on the "Reply" button (on the top and bottom of each thread page) or the "Preview" button if you're using the Quick Reply box. There, you'll see the text editor; all of the buttons do different things to your text.

More importantly, we also have voting tags for you violent townspeople who like to lynch others:

EBWOP:

Since we're not allowed to edit our posts, occasionally you'll see people posting "EBWOP," which stands for "Edit By Way Of Post." Alternatively, you might also see EBWOPreview; if posts are made while you're typing, you'll be shown the new posts (hence the "preview" part) when you hit "Submit" to give you a chance to edit your post.

I forgot to mention the unvote. Sometimes, you might not want to vote someone anymore. In that case, you do an:

Unvote

We also have an unvote tag, should you wish to use that:

Code: Select all

[unvote]NAME[/unvote]

The "NAME" part in this case is unnecessary, though you're free to add it if you like.

Revoting...

Wow. I'm really out of it. I forgot a very important tag, so here goes...

Code: Select all

[quote="Equinox"]Revoting...[/quote]

You shall use this very often. What this does is quotes something someone said, like this:
Equinox wrote:Revoting...
You can also do this automatically by clicking the "Quote" button on the post you wish to quote. Occasionally, you'll want to quote multiple posts, so you can also do this manually with the tag above.

That should be it for the BBcode crash course. Feel free to add if I've missed anything.

None whatsoever. Just trying to reaction-hunt.

You know, by saying this, you're basically saying the same thing as this:
ManInTrenchcoat wrote:None whatsoever. Just trying to reaction-hunt.
You're giving away the entire point, if that was your point.

Give reasons for votes guys, don't just wagon to try to get a reaction. Wagoning is fine, baseless wagoning is not. I can understand ManInTrenchcoat (maybe), but KoreanWonderBoy, you're just jumping on a wagon in an opportunistic way.

@ManInTrenchcoat Can I call you MITC?

I don't like your ambiguity, it sounds evasive. The fact that you revealed what you were trying to do after the slightest amount of pressure seems jumpy to me.

Uh... what?
Also, I have no idea what reaction hunting is... :(

What I was trying to do, was that I saw that 2 people were voting for the same person. If we killed the person who they were voting for and he/she was a citizen, it is highly likely that the 2 people are mafia. Also, if the person we voted for was mafia, then good! See what I'm doing?
And could someone tell me what reaction hunting is? I'll take a guess... Is it posting a really short post and then watching how others react? (I think....)

Korean, its probably a common strategy in mafia to behave as townies would. At this point in the game the mafia players are probably focusing on not sticking out right now, rather than killing town, so piling votes on a single player would go directly against what they're trying to do. Not to mention if we lynch too quickly, then we might run out of players (and lead to a mafia victory) before we can talk our way down to deciding who is likely mafia.

Reaction hunting is saying something, and seeing how people react, i believe. You try and find someone reacting in a way that would more likely be a mafia reaction than a town one, i believe.

Reaction hunting (n): The process by which players do stupid things (ie, randomly vote someone) and gauge reactions. I'd be more specific, but I'm still doing it. Talk to me in a couple (RL) days.

By revealing what I'm doing, it lets me see how people react to my reaction hunting. For example, you clearly don't want me psychoanalysing anybody's argument. This indicates to me that you think you're a terrible liar. Thus, VOTE: Ragnarokio.

Also, since I explained myself, I don't believe this can be considered OMGUS. If you think it is, feel free to let me know and I'll explain myself more fully.

I don't want you psychoanalysing anyone's argument? How do you get that at all from my attack? And how does that indicate at all that i am lying? i DO think that you sounded evasive, and i DO thing that you sounded jumpy.

You seem to be attacking me for the sake of attacking me and not for anything you actually have on me, although i could be mistaken. You're also clearly worried about being seen as OMGUSing, saying you'll come up with a defense if anyone feels that you are. I find that amplifies your "jumpiness" although perhaps that isn't the right word. You're seemingly acting according to a plan that involves predetermined attacks and defense. (which i see as scummy).

I'd be pretty happy for everyone to psychoanalyze everyone else's arguments. It gives us material to use for scumhunting. Sorry for not posting much as I normally try to do, I usually don't like to post until at least some material has been put out.

@Non SE or IC's: Something I'd like to know from each of the "newbies", except substrike of course (I was in the last game with him): Is this your first mafia game on mafiascum, or your second, third, fourth, etc.?

I'd prefer to start judging people after they answer that question I posted, so I'll just keep my vote on the nonconfirm for now. Also if you happen to be an alt, please say so.

I have several problems that stem from this post. The first sentence: If you tell people what you are doing, they won't have the same reactions as if you don't tell them what you are doing. Second sentence: This is a bit fabricated, as you haven't made any attempt at psychoanalysing anyone's arguments. The last two sentences make it seem like you are anxious about what people are going to think about your vote. You are really interested in how people will react to your playstyle. That is a scum mentality, if you ask me.

VOTE: ManInTrenchcoat

I would like you to explain yourself more fully. I will take you up on that promise.
