Okay. Mont, I play on epicmafia frequently, but this is where I am originally from(in terms of mafia). Welcome to my standard of mafia.

Sorry about the confirmations, guys. So, without further ado, We'll get started.

Eventually the day dawned that you had all been dreading. You remember waking up inside the underground shelter, crowding around the radio accompanied by the rest of your sleep-worn stressed-out group, listening for news, hoping that today would not be the day. The Apocalypse, as it was being referred to by the many refugees, showed no preference for status, age, rank, wealth, race, gender, or intelligence. The old lay just as dead beside the young, the women beside the men, the nerds beside the emo's, and so on. The barriers of social status finally eradicated, rendered obsolete in the eyes of Death. You look around your own group on the outskirts of one the few underground shelters/refugee camps, and see the same barriers equally as obsolete here among the living as among the dead lying many miles above ground. One of you tentatively switches on the radio, afraid what you all might hear, or, more correctly, not hear. The static is deafening, even though your brain tells you that you can barely hear it. The impact of its meaning is so staggering, in fact that no one notices poor Leo, not present at the morning fire circle like he usually is. At lunchtime, when it is his turn to cook, do you find his body. It's been so very long since anyone committed traditional murder, that few in the camp can understand its implications. Finally, an elderly man manages to pass the word around: "The enemy(as it were) is here. Our new sanctuary of safety, has been corrupted from within." And so begins your group's quest to eliminate the extremists. The rest of the camp can deal with their own problems. Your little band of ragtag fellows have never felt particularly social, always keeping to yourselves on the outer edges of the shelter. You have problems of your own to deal with...I highly suggest you deal with them...who knows how many humans are still alive? At this point, every life counts.

Bottom-line: Day one has begun!
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16

Unicorns can be AWESOME...

Ever play the Robot unicorn game? It is so addicting, but at the same time, such a stupid game... but so fun..

Link is http://games.adultswim.com/robot-unicor ... -game.html If you care to play, don't say I didn't warn you that it was addicting though

@montgomery: Actually, it's just
ongoing
games. Past games can and have many a time been used as a scumhunting means.

Vote: tanstalas
, only semi-random. How do you suppose RVS is going to invoke reactions from people at this point in the game?

@Dekes: Why did you use a randomizer to random vote?

Deadline?

I think it's a bit too far off to be worried about yet. It's page two and the threads been up for all of...2 days?

@yabbaguy

To be honest, it was about 70% laziness and 30% because I thought it would be kind of fitting to use random.org to determine a random vote.
So why is your vote on tanstalas only semi-random? All I've seen from him so far since Day 1 is an RVS vote based on gender issues and an advertizing of an online game. Nothing that would strike me as suspicious. Care to elaborate?

A scum tactic you're gonna see is scum protecting a townie so that if the townie is lynched, the scumbag looks more town. I'm not saying this is going on, but I just wanted to point this out as a possible scenario in situations like this.

Like I said - I'm still a mafia newbie, all the games I've seen throw joke votes around at the start, if anything it makes people more likely to throw a vote out themselves so we know they are actually here and not lurking. Also sometimes late game when we start to find out who scum is the joke votes at the start may give a clue on who else is scum.

Anything to get people posting is not a bad thing, in my opinion. And limited mafia experience.

This is actually town being curious. After reading tanstalas' posts so far you just got to be wondering why yabbaguy put a semi to his random vote (and he still hasn't given his reasoning on his vote so far). And this just might be a wee bit WIFOM-y, but a scum defednig his scumbuddy on a vote on the first day that has merely put him at L-3...even in a newbie game...I mean, c'mon, really?

And yes, I must say, I am a bit proud that my vote/reaction has moved us virtually out of the RVS :P

Hey! Kyle99 Didn't vote for me, he voted for some guy named TanstalEs...

All kidding aside, I am also curious as to why yabba voted for me and said "semi-random" - and also why he is looking for a deadline already?

I answered your question, I think it only fair you answer mine :)
