Ok Esp am I right in assuming that a move on ABR was to try and set up a counterwagon to dybeck? What are your exact reasons for being on ABR? Why not on Shanba, that would be a bigger counterwagon.

Going back to the Sando lynch ABRs fake counterclaim has been bugging me all game but it has never been at the fore front of my thoughts. Your vote on him gave me a bit more confidance that I might be right in my suspicion.

Is it not a very good buss when you counterclaimed your scumbuddy to get them lynched. It almost becomes WIFOM of who would ever do that as scum, but it fits perfectly. Also a bit of LaL in that to.

He knew it would be a long game. Also knew he could get away with it because noone else was counterclaiming Sando. It just makes sense to me. All bar one game my gut has been accurate late game. Now is not a great time to stop trusting it now. Of couse that is a flimsy case but eh. It'll do to be going on with. Town needs a new angle because to be honest, discussion is kinda licking.

Does anyone know where ABR has done risky gambits like this before, either alignment? I'm sure there's good comparisons out there but I don't know where to look.

I will admit ABR's fake counter-claim seems riskier and more foolish thing to do as town than scum in general, but I think his reputation seems to make town a good possibility. He found Sando scummy and just wanted him lynched. He didn't buy parts of the claim and explained that. He saw himself as practically hanging from the noose anyway. It all suggests he was ready to take risks.

And uncounter-claimed cops probably don't get lynched the day they claim. I wouldn't think so anyway.

^ Look at Poms lynch. There was precedent there that the lynch could still have happened. And Pom's claim wouldn't have been the hardest role to prove itself either.

Hi, this is the last post I'll be making in this game, as I'm going on holiday Friday and Patrick wants to get my replacement before that.

There's been some speculation that dybeck's claim sounds like a role cop. I like that as an idea: particularly if you consider that his claimed strong version might well be his weak version. That would explain why he's been able to use his strong mode so often.
Shanba wrote:What discussion, exactly, are you hoping for? Why do you think I am scum if dybeck is town? L-1 doesn't cut off discussion, a hammer does, and besides which I am strongly of the belief that the quest for extra discussion is one of the major reasons that most games these days end in a lurkfest which only benefits scum. If there's a consensus that someone is scummy, why not just god damn lynch them instead of agonising over it for weeks?

The early days are for gathering information, the later days for analysing it.
Can I get an "I told you so?" (yeah yeah I know I've been complicit too... I blame the football. Also the fact that dybeck isn't dead yet.)

ABR has definitely done this kind of stuff before. I can't think off the top of my head what game it was and it was a long time ago, but there was an occasion where he claimed doc and then unclaimed it or something ike that. There was a big furore about it for a while. I haven't been following mafia closely enough to tell you about anything more recent. He's a frustrating player to work with, though a decent scumhunter. I don't think he's scum.

I'm calling dybeck/jahudo mafia, nick SK.

Good luck guys!

You cant get an I told you so. Because it is the fact that nobody is discussing that is causing the problem not the asking for discussion.

I don't think Shanba is scum at all, tbh.

And there can't be a serial killer, because there hasn't been two kills every night. Its probably a Vig, right?

A secondary killing role could be anything I think, because of the flavour it could be able to do some things one night other things other nights and be called something different probably. But could the second killings be a product of our greediness as town.

does it really matter at this point? Deadline is really close so we need to decide. Dybeck or no. If no then who and we need to do it now so that once Faraday is caught up we can end this day.

Back from V/LA.

From the looks of it, there was not much discussion to catch up on. For whoever asked, I do think Shanba (now Faraday) is Town. I still think my vote is in the right place.

9 alive, lynch at 5.

Deadline: 15th of July.

----------------------------

It feels like ages since you've lynched anybody, probably because it is ages since you've lynched anybody. Today dybeck's holiday plans are brought to an end by the town's rope. A private detective by trade, he often took risks to get the result, but up until now had always landed on his feet. Today, you guys hang him high from a tree to make sure he doesn't land at all.

dybeck - Investigator - lynched day 6

It is now night 6, with the usual 72 hour deadline.

Yesterday's lynch was pretty traumatic, and night 6 only brings an increase in brutality. Espeonage the pokemon fanatic and boberz the politician have been killed, both in the comfort of their own homes. Now only 6 remain in this murder investigation, and not all of you are batting for the same side.

Espeonage - Villager - killed night 6
boberz - Villager - killed night 6

It is now day 7. With only 6 of you alive, it takes 4 votes to string someone up. Your deadline hits on the 6th of August.
