Open 229 - Vengeful Mafia (Game Over)

Not always in Vengeful games. Last Vengeful I was in, godfather got pinned on page 1, we finished by page 4. The time in between was mostly me dithering that it was going too fast.

Reasons why Robo is scum.
1. Robo enters with joke-post about being town (weak tell)
2. Robo defends it by saying "maybe I'm scum, or maybe I'm town". (weak tell)
3. Robo tries to misrepresent what I'm saying to imply that I think he's town, when that clearly wasn't the case. (strong tell)

Remember we've only got 5 players, and 2 of them are scum. I appreciate that you don't want to make a mistake, but it's not that unlikely to hit scum straight away.

I see your point. As for you Robocopter, I just don't understand why you would suddenly choose a 'random generator' to pick your suspect. It doesn't make any sense at all. Do you do this usually or is it just when you know you've slipped up? Either way I think your deserving of some more pressure.

I don't know what to say other than: This is ridiculous. It's as if Robocopter actually wants to be lynched. I skimmed a few of Robocopter's games and his play is nothing like this, regardless of alignment. Every single post he made here is scummy and the idea of using a random number generator instead of playing the game... Are you serious? When you signed up for this game you wanted to play Mafia, right?

From this hesitant, joking, beginning you quickly surmise that

has got to be one of them. Why else would he be so nervous about looking like everyone else? As you string him up on the tree in the town square, you ignore his continued ranting about getting back at those who set him up. Pulling him up, higher and higher, until at the top of the tree... *snap*. The rope breaks and his body falls to the ground. Surprisingly, he struggles to stand, and pulls out a gun.

"I'll make them pay, I'll kill them all."

As he limps off into the evening searching for your common enemies, you realize he is just like every other normal person around here, quick to seek vengeance for wrongs against him.

The broken man sat hunched in the corner of the storage room. He was clearly delirious, haunted by an endless stream of nightmares. The slightest creak sounded out through the doorway. His eyes whipped frenziedly around the room, closely followed by the pistol in his weakening hands.

"I KNOW WHO YOU ARE! LOOK AT WHAT YOU DID TO ME! THEY DIDN'T BELIEVE ME, THEY TRIED TO KILL ME, BUT I'LL MAKE YOU PAY FOR IT!

I know you...

I'll make you pay for this..."

His rant slowly tapered off into a soft whimper.

This was great, watching him suffer. Boss would have loved it, but no, we can't endanger him, he's too important. If I wasn't having so much fun watching this, I might actually just put him out of his misery. Oh great, he's ranting now....maybe I will take care of him. At least to save my ears.

Robo heard the intruder come into the room before he saw him. He began running and crashed through the doorway, falling to the floor. The intruder stepped forward and raised his pistol, pulled back the hammer, and gunshots rang out.

Smoke rose from the barrel of Robo's pistol. The intruder fell to the side dead, a victim of his own plan. Robo, weakened further from the recent events, finally succumbed to his injuries from the fall. His mind shattered, his body broken beyond repair, but satisfied that he had gained his vengeance, Robo breathed his last.

Force of habit. I have just become accustomed to requesting a claim, even if I know what will be claimed and that the person has to claim that. It's just something I have come to see as a important part of the game, then again, I don't exactly have a wealth of experience. Although I see your point that it is a bit silly now, especially on a forum when Robocopter would have only claimed townie. I don't know who is scum but I will have a look back and a long think and get back to you. Although I am very adamant of the fact that no one should vote yet at all, the chances of finding scum are difficult because we don't have much to go on, so one misplaced vote would allow scum to quick hammer and it would be the end of the game. We need to think about this.

No, as far as I know you've never been in this game. Playerlist is on the first page. Unless your replacing Mindgamer, who hasn't posted for a few days, but I would wait until a mod confirms that before assuming you're in the game.

Mindgamer was prodded yesterday evening. I am hesitant of getting a replacement in such a small game, but if there is no response within the next 8 hours I will begin searching for one as per my activity rules. Also, Wacka Alpaca is

in this game.

I know what you mean, it's frustrating for someone to flake out of a game like this, because it doesn't seem like it'd take much effort for them to stick around and finish it. Well, if you have to replace, at least the new player won't have much to read.

Octupis, if Mindgamer comes back, what will you want to know from him, what questions will you ask?

And what do you think of Robo's vengekill? How do you think he picked out smashbro?

Hey, I'm here, I've been following but there hasn't been an awful lot to say.

In response to your questions, I would have asked Mindgamer why he flaked, was it real life problems or was it the game? But considering we have a replacement, I can't ask that. Otherwise, his behaviour on day one didn't seem to out of the ordinary apart from the fact that he said he didn't like quick lynches, then proceeded to quick lynch Robocopter, because he has never been so 'confident about a lynch' than he was at that point. Also, seeing as Robocopter picked his suspect randomly on day one, I presume he did the same with his vengeance kill. I certainly didn't see anything on day one that would have made Smash Bro stand out as scum, so I'm guessing it was just a guess. What do you think?
