I knew a girl that hitchhiked from Vancouver to Montreal and back in late October. Besides, you could ways do favors to old men in the airport bathroom. And a bus ticket wouldnt be that expensive either.ShowElvis_Knits: "IS you are a sexist schmuck, for real"

My friend Teo just hitched from OR to PA and back a few weeks ago. My friend/lover Danielle is a petite 22 year old girl that has hitched a few thousand miles, some of it by herself. She's one of four women I know that have gone on lone hitchhiking trips. I've hitched more than 30,000 miles in my lifetime.
But we digress... Miyu, why did you ask about the tables? Do you have or know where to score some folding tables?Record:Town 10W/15LScum 4W/1LOther 2W/2LNewbie 1L

Hi there, I understand that it was promised I would discuss food with you all, so, here I am.
I don't feel any particular need to be "in charge" of the food, but I never do, and somehow I always seem to end up being in charge of the food anyway. the only particular thing(s) I have in mind so far are various fruit and cheese platters, and veggie platters. you know, snacks with sustenance. my own dietary restrictions are that I do not eat farm raised mammals, but I am of course willing to prepare them for others.
and hitchhiking is the definitive factor that makes a person "cool" btwIt ain't what you don't know that gets you into trouble. It's what you know for sure that just ain't so." - Mark Twain

Troll has as of now procured Train tickets for the weekend in question. Troll be scheduled to arrive at 1:50 PM on Friday the 20th and depart at 12:15 PM on Monday the 23rd. Troll had thought there was some chance that Troll's friends in Portland would have folding tables that we could use but Troll talked to them today and it turns out that no be the case. Them most likely be in Troll's garage right now it turns out and getting them there from Seattle almost certainly no be worth the effort.
@Xine, you can plan on having Troll available to help with food in whatever ways be handy during the weekend. Troll largely cares little about it but Troll knows that it be good to have available over longer events like these so that people no get cranky.

Oh, and Troll has decided Troll will be bringing a bottle of Aquavit to share with those who enjoy a drink from time to time (assuming Troll remembers to pick one up shortly before the trip) and a copy of Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? on DVD which Troll thinks be a good training movie for mafia related things. It also be Troll's overall favorite movie. If it gets watched Troll will be happy; if not then it no will have taken up that much space.
Troll be tempted to bring a karaoke machine to hook up to a television but Troll no be convinced that this be that easy to transport on the Train. Troll will think about that one. Perhaps others can talk about how much it would be appreciated (either with it's presence or absence.) It actually belongs to Troll's friend in Portland and him might not mind Troll bringing it so that him has it down there anyhow.

Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf no be about mafia in any direct way but it do be about, well, Troll no will ruin it if you no have seen it. Troll does claim that there be things to learn from it that would be handy when playing mafia. It be an adaption of an Edward Albee play and stars Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton at their finest. Troll highly recommends it to anyone. And now that Troll has played it up Troll be sure it will disappoint all who watch it based on these recommendations.

Oh yes. I had made a mental note to check my shed for folding tables, but forgot. I thought I had a standard and two halves.
I have one standard folding table, which I believe is 5ft long. Which can be used, no folding chairs in the typical sense. Just a lot of canvas camp style ones.
Gack. I keep trying to post, and ya'all keep making posts!Hi.-

I know how to play poker. I will eat anything. Drink anything. Not ashamed to be bad at karaoke. Would play whatever we end up doing and would even watch classic movies.
So basically, no complaints or restrictions from me.ShowElvis_Knits: "IS you are a sexist schmuck, for real"

Interesting choice of drink Troll, it's one of my favourite spirits. I'm still uncertain of my availability, but I'm hoping to make it out for an evening. I have a similar classic mafia film I could bring - Who's afraid of 'CryWolf'? I picked it up at the local Hollywood video closing sale for $1 and haven't watched it yet.
I'd be up for low stakes poker, but would prefer to play board games since I rarely get a chance to do so.-

I've got some movies I could bring, if we're doing that. Cave Dwellers; Angel's Revenge; Manos: The Hands of Fate; Santa Conquers the Martians; some other stuff, too, that I don't remember off the top of my head. I'd be more than happy to share, if anyone's interested. One time, back in 'nam, Sudo was set upon by an entire squadron of charlies. He challenged them all to a game of Pictionary, which he won resoundingly. The charlies were forced to not only surrender the skirmish, but also their world-famous chili recipe, which Sudo sold to Texas for a hefty profit. Sudo is a master of diplomacy.-

There's a TV and DVD player in the guest suite and another one in the game room (that's only open during office hours). Movies are welcome though I'll probably be more focused on gaming and conversation than the TV.Record:Town 10W/15LScum 4W/1LOther 2W/2LNewbie 1L
