Not so. There are only the 7 powers out there. The "x2" means two-shot abilities, not two of that role- I already asked Zor.

I like how a town player can buy the Nightkill and become a Vigilante while the Mafia is NK-less. Good idea there.

You know what would be cool? If we could like, have a reverse power-buy. So I could volunteer to take the "Miller" role for like, $10 bucks, and someone else could offer to take it for $5, etc. Like, it would be cool if we could make more money by taking on "bad" traits like "Hated Townie" or "Miller" or "Treestump".

Wait, guys.

Does Zor seriously mean that we can only cast one vote per DP?

I always thought "no unvoting" was that it is unnecesary to unvote.
I thought it went like this:
Vote: XXX
*no unvote*
Vote: YYY.

@ Zoraster: So, do we really only get one vote per DP?

RVS lives! :D

Hmm... Nobody Special has a plain avatar, NavyCherub's is Brock (or is it?) and farside doesn't have one. Tough choice.

Vote: Nobody Special
Because your avatar is pure purple, in clear imitation of Zoraster. And since you're nobody special, no one will miss you (besides any scum buddies you may or may not have). :D

Re: Votecount
Is there a reason why everyone's name is listed, even if they don't have a vote on them?
Something I've always wondered.

Well, just looking at the NK, someone must have taken out a loan to get it; even the scum couldn't have bid that high solely by themselves, so any player could have taken out a loan to get it, or perhaps the scum wired each other money.

@ farside: We could have the Vig be the town killer, and have the Cop investigate the Vig the first night. That would clear up his alignment. The only way he could get around that is if he had invest-immune as well. Which we could complexify by jacking the price up.

@ Anyone with Math Skills

So if we can take out loans for 300% of out cash right now, we can technically have like, $400. And the scum would then have... $500? (I'm hoping I did my math right, lol.)
farside22 wrote: First I think wiring money to someone just because of a claim would be down right stupid for the town.
Agreed, unless we can confirm them as town. (Barring investi-immunity.)
Fish wrote: The person with the nightkill should definitely claim if they are town.

Woah, $251 on the Pickpocket? I guess its possible to get that much by yourself, but still. Wow.
I think the most interesting part is watching the bids roll in, lol.

Does it make a difference if we die indebted or die with bling in our pockets? Does dying with a debt have consequences?

Because if not, then I don't see why we all wouldn't just take out massive loans right now. Its not like we have an incentive to pay them off.

Oh wait, the NK got sold? Shoot, deadlines are coming in. :(

How do we know if a deadline is in the PM or the AM?

Re: The Uber Plan

It would be a waste of a Cop investigation, and a Doctor protection, if we clear that townie and then have the scum send him over $999.
Given that the scum can have over $400 right now, (with a massive loan), two scum could easily send one player over the $1000 limit.

Self voting should be discouraged. I don't see how it can actually help the town, or the player at all.
I self-voted my first game and was lynched. I don't self-vote anymore.

I can't tell if flashstorm's big attempt at breaking the game is scum trying to look town or town trying to be all cool. :/

I'm waiting on farside to see what she wanted to say after bidding was done.

The concept that roles can go both ways.
I was clearly not looking at this with enough depth. The scum could very well have Doc, Vig, Cop, which would throw a big wrench into the town, especially if we just assume that we have one of those powers, etc.

And claiming doesn't do much good anymore. If scummy_player claims Doc, we lynch him and someone else gets the Doc power. We never really lose PRs, so that's something else to mull over, especially when we're approaching a lynch.

I think everyone but Kerrigan's had the chance to claim NK. So if he/she doesn't have it then I think its safe to say its in the hands of a scum faction.

Should we start claiming at L-2, to prevent a quick hammer by Jack?

Definitely. We can't just ignore the mechanics at play in this game. Come D2, if not sooner, we're going to have some new stuff on the market, so that'll need a look over and we'll have to see how it plays in with the current powers.

@ Jack: Why the games earlier, when you were trying to convince me the doublevoter was Zang? Do you have something to hide?

Apparently. It must be your avatar.
farside22 wrote: You think scum would buy the DV and then vote themselves?
Given this reaction, it would be an unexpected move on the scum's part. Like a scum claiming Miller D1.

Ok, I'm not going to go too far into the money issue, but with each town player able to take out a $300 loan, on top of D1 starting money they'd have $400. Scum would have $500, if they started with $125. So it is possible for any player to have scrounged up all that money to get a power.

At first I was like 'oh, that's one less person I'd have to convince when I present a case on someone'. But then I rethought it. 'That one less person also enables lynches to go faster, with less people.' So it has the potential for quicker lynches, and heavily distorts lylo.
After seeing the DV here, I don't think I'd ever want to have that power in a game.

3. A prediction that there is scum on the dispelled farside wagon. He doesn't give a reason for this (why is being on a fast dispelling wagon a scumtell?).
I dislike the comment on grammar - while it seems a silly thing to be arguing over, I think it's quite obvious here that the grammar of that sentence is hugely relevant to whether someone dropped an enormous scumtell. To dismiss that as irrelevant just because it's talking about grammar is both easy and wrong.
1) I asked someone to become more OMGUSy? Show me where.
2) Yeah, I'll just go ahead and follow Jack/VV/SK's lead and wagon whoever they vote because that's the right thing to do. /sarcasm Seriously. What do you expect, sheeple?
3) I was somehow convinced that SPS was on the farside wagon too. Ugh. IDK how that happened. I think it happened spontaneously, with SK and VV just jumping on the wagon with no good reason mentioned.
As for the grammar issue, its just a thing of mine. I don't care too overly much to look into how someone words their scentences unless there's something blatantly obvious with it like a breadcrumb. I don't care to get into debates over gerundial phrases in a mafiascum game. Sorry to burst your bubble.
I take that back. I'm not sorry to burst your bubble.

"Staggeringly similar?" Personally, I feel that your vote on me was weak. You're basing my entire playstyle over your one experience with me where I was, yes, scumboss. Perhaps you should read into my town games as well, and see if I match. Odd. Since we're dwelling on Greek Mythology, you asked for like, half of the player's meta's in D1 of that game. Strange you're not doing it here.

##Vote: VasudeVa
And now you're willing to lynch anyone but yourself, to save your own hide. Be like Ooba in Greek Mythos D1, where he was willing to die to kill scum. You seem overly concerned with saving your own butt than hunting scum. You're hunting for a good lynch candidate that isn't you. Play pro-town or be lynched, Vas.

NS wrote: @Andrius: Watch it again.

And I take it you're just going to get away with voting me without reason? Why did you ask for a votecount before voting? Wanted to make sure you could fit on the wagon? Wanting to make sure your scumbuddy wasn't on it? Your vote is throwing yellow flags all over the place.

The only person I don't mind is SK, but he seems to just be doing whatever Jack tells him.
Re-quoted for emphasis. VV's clearly out to survive D1 doing whatever it takes to do so. Jack's playstyle is odd indeed, especially the ignoring Zang earlier. And SK is following Jack alot lately.

Here SK votes farside after Jack does:

Fishy wrote: So. What do you think of the farside wagon? You agree with it to an extent. Which is pretty much totally meaningless. What good points have been made against farside? We don't know. How likely is farside to be scum? We don't know. Are you likely to vote farside over other players? We don't know. This reads very much like scum who wants to be able to make their mind up when it becomes clearer whether this wagon is leading to a lynch.
I think it was a clever idea done by Jack; whether motivated as scum or town remains to be seen. He knew that VV would hop, because VV supports every lynch other than his own, ATM. SaintKerrigan's vote was highly scummy because he followed Jack saying "I'll dig this for now". He also followed Jack onto my lynch.
I was also convinced (idk how) that SPS was on the farside wagon as well. This is not the case, but I found SPS fairly scummy as well.

So in conclusion, I saw the farside wagon as scummy because of SK, and VV's willingness to lynch anyone but himself. (Since SPS did not vote farside after all.)

I'm not in favor of a farside lynch. Sometimes I say stupid things to see what people will do afterwards/ see how they will react. I said I agreed with the wagon so I could see if the people
who were already voting farside
would jump onto me. (Which they did.) What did I learn? This wagon-hopping only solidified VV's status as 'I'll Lynch Anyone But Me' and SK's status as #1 follower of Jack.
Fishy wrote: I think you're very wrong about the grammar thing. If I say a sentence meaning "I'm scum", but I claim it has some other harmless interpretation, it's clearly important to work out whether that harmless interpretation is likely. Sounds like something you believe though.
Well, most people would tend to avoid saying scentences meaning "I'm scum".
Wait, what's something I believe?
VV wrote: I'm mostly trying to make the most of my vote here, do you prefer that I withhold my vote and not give you any information?
You aren't technically allowed to withhold your vote, as it must always be on someone. You can however, vote SK and appease me for a brownie point. (Not redeemable for townie points. Reedemable for brownies.)
VV wrote:

I still think that was a genious move.
AlmasterGM wrote: I don't get it. How did making a crappy post help you find scum, specifically?
It allows to me to watch suspicious players like VV, Jack, SK and see what they do. Naturally, VV votes me. Jack votes me. SK follows Jack. Why? We will find out.
VV wrote: Oh Joy, I'm at L-1 again.
Claim Thor. ;) For old times' sake.
Jack wrote: Andrius on VV at the time when VV was acting his scummiest. Ever do that meta read Andrius? Also can you explain the comment in that first quote? (the "I'd have to meta him to see if he's like this when he's scum" comment).
Yeah I did. I read him in Newbie 902, when he played as scum. He replaced in on D2 though, so its not a complete meta. And I haven't read his latest semi-win as scum in Percy's Rainbow Mafia.
Explaining comment: I've only ever played with him when he was town. (Greek Mythos.) He was only around for D1. So, I didn't want to base his playing habits off one game in one game-day. So I decided that I'd meta him if the time ever came. I'll look into the Rainbow Mafia a bit. Though I should probably read him playing as town in another game as well.

@ Vas: Your case on Fishy being:
VV wrote: *Ahem*
Why Fish is Scum: A Qualitative Analysis of a Fishy Scumbag's Posts

ISO 31:
"I agree that the fact that what you said is pretty obviously a silly thing to say makes it more likely it was a genuine mistake. "

ISO 37:
"No, I don't think you made a mistake"

Saying that "I agree that the fact that what you said is pretty obviously a silly thing to say makes it more likely it was a genuine mistake. "
does not go with the sentiment
"I don't think you made a mistake"

Why say the first sentence at all when, in your mind, you are already thinking the second sentence.

There you have it, ladies and gentle men. Also, I would like to point out: ISO 37 is a classic example of cognitive dissonance.

##Vote: Fishy
Let me get this straight, because I'm not sure I follow your train of thought yet.
You're saying that in ISO 31 Fishy says your "silly mistake" was a "genuine mistake" and in ISO 37 he says he doesn't think it was a mistake.
So you're voting him because of his contradiction?
And I'm not a scientist, so having looked at your link to Cognitive Dissonance I have to ask, how does C.D. apply here? I'm still a tad confused.
VV wrote: Also, regarding asking for metas: Back then, I thought they worked. But now I don't. Anything wrong with that?
Nothing wrong with it, I just noticed that you weren't running around asking for everyone's metas.
VV wrote: In an unrelated note:

C'mon man. There was a good amount of epic in that game. You can't deny that.
SK wrote: AKA "Zomg SK didn't provide a 'good' reason for his vote, he must be scummiez." I do believe I explained later that the vote was to try and get information.
And how praytell, do you defend your vote on me? Because there's a clear distinction between voting someone because you think they are scum and getting an "uneasy feeling" about someone's posts.
SK wrote: Conveniently leaving out the part where you were already a high suspect on my list and I was in fact voting you in lieu of VV earlier. Personally, I think both of you need to find a noose, and it doesn't really matter which of you two finds it first.
Again, there's a clear distinction between getting an "uneasy feeling" about my posts and bumping me up to "high suspect" on your scumladder.
SK wrote: And you expected people to not vote you for this? Say something stupid was "intentional" doesn't make it any less stupid, or less vote-worthy. Put another way: you're reaping what you've sown.
I expect people to vote me. That's not the deal.
Don't we all reap what we've sown, though? I fail to see how that makes more sense here than it does anywhere else.
SK wrote:

More like favoritism for a Greek Mythos player. It has been my favorite, most enjoyable game thus far.
But yes, SK. If you want to vote yourself- or even VV- go right ahead.

Here's a super hi-c tip. In this group there is 2, if not three scum:

Nobody Special, Zang, Steam-Powered Shovel.

Now I'm banking hard on SPS and NS not being scum together. The downside is chances are high these aren't the scum with the fat abilities.

The winner in the "doing nothing" race by a tiny margin is NS. Zang is actively not paying attention and that bothers me but, of the three, he's my iffy one.

##Vote: Nobody Special

That said, this needs to happen NOW:

Whomever bought cop needs to claim it. Claim their result. Then sell it. Like, right damn now. We need to utilize the fact there is still only one killing action and two scumteams to start putting some pressure on.

This was 20 pages of mechanics and slapfighting and, frankly, a C- effort overall. That's gotta go.
Good, some fresh action in the game. Glad to have you SpyreX.
I support a Cop claim. We need all the help we can get.
But don't sell the Cop ability. The Doctor can and should protect you no matter what, if you claim. It seems that the Firefighter is the counter for the Arsonist, so the Doctor is becoming somewhat useless.

Hi nopointinactingup! Its been awhile since 930.

##Vote: SaintKerrigan

I did have the Doctor ability, up until I was mugged. I did not submit a N1 action because I had no idea who the scum would target. And with two shots I didn't want to waste either of them, thinking- of course- that another NightKill ability would hit the market D3. I did actually submit a N2 protection, but it either arrived after deadline or zoraster missed it, sadly.

I did not have the Investigation Immunity, or else I would have claimed it. SK is obviously trying to pin it on me, with an obvious excuse under seemingly-true pretenses. Yes, I was mugged. This is the perfect opportunity for the scum_mugger to lead the town into another mislynch. Either SK has the Investigation Immunity or his partner does. I did not have that role at all. SK pinned this on me in the hopes that he'd be able to lead you all in yet another mislynch.
Don't let this scum lead you in another mislynch. SK's play is no shining light; and this scum gambit only makes it more apparent: that SK is scum.

I will reread and post a more thorough case against SaintKerrigan later this weekend. At the moment I am very tired and emotionally drained.

OH GOD YES. SK YOU ARE AMAZING NOW. 8D /Death Note fan 8DDD

But yes. I thoroughly enjoyed the game, zor, and would like to play (or help, if you need it) with the next one- if you carry on.
@ zor: Yeah, I think I was too overly preoccupied with the debt portion of the game to care about the market. I was too busy trying to find out how to pay off my debt that I couldn't use the market.

I think my biggest mistake was not putting Investigation Immunity on the market D2.
I think my biggest hindrance was not having a scumbuddy D2. Me an' easjo had a plan for me to sell I.I., he to buy it, and therein he would be Godfather, and I'd be debt-free and Doctor.

@ NPIAU: I was screaming in the dead people QT for you to go down swinging. :( I respect your choice, but still. Gah. I would've killed them.

<3 for Vas, Jack, and Almaster. And my Death Note buddy Kerrigan.

Ok yeah. I definitely agree that debt needs to be redone.
Perhaps you could take out loans as well?

If everyone starts with say, $500, then that could last them for a few days, and have a payday at say, Day 5.
That way people like me (lynchbait) can use their money early on, and other people can save it for powers later in the game.
(B/c I really love Masonizers/Neighborizers) :(

And yeah, you really should've gotten rid of II. Although as long as it's in scum hands if it gets discovered it's kaput for the guy who has it. Also, get your protects in on time. ;)
Yeah. I was hoping I'd get a replacement scumbuddy before I sold it. :(
Bah. Mafia Doc FTW.

Oh, and does anyone want the Mafia A QT?
