STUFF I'D LIKE YOU TO KNOW
(I) My job is not to make lawyer-grade loophole-proof rules. Use common sense. Someone is going to die if a vote is disputed because, say, the colon wasn't bolded.
(II) Regardless of what is written here, I may modkill, replace, or take any other action for any reason, or for no reason.
(III) Stuff in the forum rules and guidelines naturally applies.
(IV) If having an aneurysm will help you win the game, you should probably still avoid it.
SOME OTHER IMPORTANT STUFF
(a) Votes must be emphasized to clearly communicate that you are not simplyreferring tothe act of voting. Similarly, make it clear you're addressing me if you need me to respond in the thread.
(b) Unvotes are for when you arenotplacing a new vote.
(c) Tallies will be edited into every 25th post, into any post requesting one, and into a summation on the first page. No homemade votecounts, please.
(d) Days last until I get impatient. Deadlines start a brief voting-only period to determine the lynch. If the deadline fails to produce a lynch, there won't be one.
(e) Nights last about half a week. Abilities have a submission deadline at around a full day before the end of the night phase; missing this deadline generally means you take no action.
(f) You may not do anything to yourself - kill, investigate, protect, track, whatever - except redirect someone else's action onto yourself, unless your role says you can.
(g) Please don't use aggravatingly bright colours like yellow, cyan, or white. I don't care if you use colours I tend to use.
(h) Replacements may happenwithout noticeif you can't be bothered to post and I don't know about any trips to Atlantis. Players may request prods if they like.
STUFF YOU MAY ALREADY KNOW

MORE STUFF!
The setup consists of the following teams (independent of roles):
2 Mafia(vs)2 Wolves(vs)8 Town.
There will be 0-2 of any of the rolesCop,Doctor, andTracker, whose abilities are only effective at dealing with the Mafia. There will be a 4/6th (2/3) chance of there being exactly one of these; there is only a 1/6th chance of there being none, and a 1/6th chance of having the full two. If there are two, there will be a reduced chance both roles being the same; after one role is selected, its chances of being selected once more are halved (i.e. from 1/3 to 1/6). Once determined, these roles will be randomly distributed to the Town and Werewolf players.
Similarly, there will be 0-2 of the rolesSeer,Angel, andWolfstalker, who have identical abilities, except that they are only effective against the wolves. They are weighted the same and will be randomly distributed amongst the Town and Mafia players.
These are the possible roles.

It was a nice day...........................AND THEN EVIL CAME!
You've had to defend your quaint little village from werewolves for as long as you can remember. Actually, you didn't defend it. That was Bob's job. He made all the silver bullets, he laid all the traps, he went out into the woods and hunted them. Still, you could take 'em if you wanted to. Which is good, because now that you think of it, Bob was found dead last week, with a regular old lead bullet in the back of his skull.
Now that youreallythink about it, the local Mafia sent you a letter saying that the village belonged to them now. And if they wanted the village, they would need to take care of the werewolves, too. Which would mean they would need Bob's silver bullets.
Luckily for you, you don't need anything but a little rope and a tall oak tree to take care of your problems.
You may begin.-

So! You had a long, hard day of trying to pick out a tree to use to deal with the invasion. Selecting the tree was pretty difficult, after all. You had to find a tall one, with sturdy branches, so that the hangman didn't fall out of the tree while hanging, or even afterwards. It simply wouldn't do to have a branch snap and drop the poor sap into the dirt. Then you'd just have to string him back up all over again. You wouldn't want to be accused of performing a faulty hanging or anything like that.
After that long, hard day, you decided you actually need to pick someone to hang on that tall, sturdy tree. To ensure a reasonable and fair decision - the first and foremost thing on an angry mob's mind, of course - you voted on it, and as soon as half of you could agree on someone, you hanged him. And what a hanging it was! Lots of kicking; the best hangman's dance you've seen in a long while. Why, the last time you saw such a sh-
Oh, right, the hangman. You checked his house, his yard, and his person. No guns, nor any pizzini lying around, and definitely no conspicuous shedding. He was really no one of note, other than that he gave you a pretty entertaining half of an hour standing under a tree.
Beefster, atownie, has been lynched.
Night will end somewhere between 70 - 80 hours from now.-

Last night was quieter than most nights. There weren't any crickets chirping, and the owls were exceptionally silent. In fact, pretty much none of the standard nocturnal life made a peep. As the night went on, you felt grimly certain you knew precisely why.
Your suspicions were confirmed in the morning, when you discovered that two among you had disappeared in the night. Sadly, no matter how much you searched, you couldn't find any reason to suspect either of them of any wrongdoing. Someone will hang for this!
Chevre, atownie, was killed.

Due to the large number of inactive slots, players should consider this game suspended until further notice. While the game is suspended, votes will not be counted, and inactivity rules will not be in effect. Living players are free to otherwise play in the thread as normal. If I am somehow able to find replacements within a reasonable amount of time, I will PM all players to reconfirm, and play will resume. Alternatively, if the majority of the remaining players prefer it, the game will instead be abandoned.
Thank you for your participation up to this point and your subsequent patience.-

This time, you're certain you got one of them. You weren't buying that "don't worry, I'm a doctor" horse cake - he couldn't even remember who his last patient was! Never mind that he was a completely different fellow than the one that was living there yesterday; you know they just sent in someone new because the first guy wasn't getting the job done fast enough. Well, this one wouldn't be getting the job done at all! You'd see to that.
What exactly 'the job' was remains to be seen, however, because you couldn't find any orders from the Mafia or the local werewolf pack on him.
drmyshottyizsik, atownie, has been lynched.
Night will end around 80 - 90 hours from the time of this post.-

You all awoke this morning to find that that crazy fellow who eats all the cat food and wanders around the town at unsaintly hours of the night looking at the dirt was being less than compliant with your 'everyone in the town square at dawn' rule. Aha! Suspicious behaviour! You marched over to his house, ready to break in and serve some cold justice.
Sadly, cold murder being one step ahead of cold justice, you found him in his home, lying in a heap over a puddle of blood. Not satisfied of his innonence, you did the right thing - completely ransacked his home looking for clues. Re-ransacked, actually, as it had clearly been torn apart recently.
Surprisingly, there were a number of alarming clues, all pointing to the Mafia... and their activities here in the town. It looked like the nutter was not, in fact, taking orders from them, but following their moves and trying to predict the next one they'd make. Whether they outfoxed him or he just happened to run afoul of the wolves, however, he was long dead now, and all his findings had been tossed in the hearth to burn.
With all the excitement, you barely even noticed that someone else gone missing. There wasn't much to see at his place, though. Just another innocent casualty. You were running out of warm bodies fast.
Scott Brosius, atracker, was killed.
Tazaro, atownie, was killed.-

Everyone was stilled with fear. Anyone could be dead next. Anyone. Without a doubt, there was going to be bloodshed soon.
Too afraid to face your kinsmen, knowing all but one of them was out to kill you, each of you returned home. Home... the safest place you knew. You hid, knowing that, though it had kept you alive so far, this could be the last night you spent there... and even if it wasn't, tomorrow you might be surrounded by enemies.
Tomorrow, you might be alone.
No one was lynched.
The day will end 70 - 80 hours from now. Please have your night choices in by then.-

The night was painfully quiet. Doom was approaching, etc. etc., scary things were going down. Finally, there was athumpat a door, the home of one of the few remaining survivors.
"Little human, please let us in," said a deep grovelly, voice.
There was no reply for a few moments. Then...
"HELP!" the person screeched.
They immediately tore the door down, and smashed the meagre barricade, and leapt. "HELP! FOR YOUR OWN SAKE, HELP!" their victim. "I KNOW YOU'RE OUT THERE! YOU KNOW THEY'RE GOING TO KILL US ALL! COME AND SHOOT THE BLlleaaarrghhhh..." There was a snap of teeth, a crunching of bone, the sharp report of a pistol--
BLAM! BLAMBLAM!
"YyyyYYYYIIIIIIIIPE!" one of the wolves yelped. BLAM! One went down. The other jumped straight through the window, shattering it to bits and fleeing into the night. A pair of dark figures lingered near the house momentarily, then disappeared just as quickly.
All was quiet again.
Chronopie, atownie, was killed.
Hinduragi, awerewolf, was killed.-

The two of them stood in the centre of town, waiting for a sound or some sign of the werewolf. The last real local, having only a werewolf mauling or a mob execution to look forward to, had long since fled.
"This is it," one said to the other. "We made it this far, but we might not both make it out of this."
"Have faith," the other replied calmly.
"Better idea," the first said. "DUCK!"
The wolf sailed over the mobster as he hit the dirt, smashing into his partner. With a snarl, it went straight for the throat, teeth clamping down and ripping the jugular, even as its victim emptied his gun into its side. It howled and turned towards its next target, but before it could make another move, the downed man placed a shot straight through its skull.
It slumped into the dirt, dead.
"Told you... we might not... both..." the Mafioso coughed. His partner smiled, teeth shining in the moonlight.
"As I said..." he responded, leaning down to cover the wound, "Have a little faith..."
XScorpion, awerewolf, was killed.
The mafia wins!-

Thank you again to all the players who had the patience to stay with us when half the game was empty, and of course to the replacements who were willing to commit to a game that wasn't guaranteed to continue. I'm glad we could see the game to its conclusion.-

I agree that scum protection coming into play could have unbalanced the game. The mob gained a legitimate advantage (which won them the game) by hitting a wolf while the wolves hit a townie. Had there been a doctor that kept both wolves alive, the mob would have likely drawn or lost, despite having made the better choice in the third night.
Looking at the setup discussion, the possibility of scum roles was added to counteract the possibility of there being more power counteracting one scum group than the other. Unfortunately, possibilities don't come into play as much once the setup has been determined.
