a couple of things:

If you have a vague suspicion about someone, that means you FoS them and try and find out what caused the suspicion
or
you vote them for a reaction test. I agree with half of what UK said and half of what Twomz said really. If you find someone vaguely suspicious and there's no wagon, why not vote them just to get a reaction and make your suspicion clear? However, if someone is at l-2 or so, then you should probably think a bit about why you find them suspicious.

Secondly, how the hell is vote hopping pro town? I find this one intriguing, and I'm curious as to why you find it pro town.

Oh, and finally: Tell me if you're about to hammer, because I have a pretty awesome one shot day ability that could really help the town.
The game. Guess what? You just lost it.

Why on earth is llama at l-1?

Whenever someone changes their vote a lot, people say they are vote hopping. Since this is the standard usage, vote hopping is pro town, because changing your vote a lot means you are looking into a number of people and willing to annoy a number of people. Obviously the content itself can be questioned.

What people (often scum) try and do when they say someone is vote hopping actually a very common scum tactic. You take a common scumtell that is referred to only by name (or better yet acronym). Then you find a townie who is doing something that sounds like it could be called that and accuse them of doing it. That way, you can have a reason for your vote on someone even if they aren't doing the actual scummy version of vote hopping (switching your suspicions around to keep on the more popular wagon).

holy shit, SP, did you seriously just switch your vote off of me?!? Interesting. IMO, vote hopping is a nice cover for scum to get in on any wagon they choose, but it could also just mean you are a townie that likes to do what you said. That means it's not a tell by itself, but trying to call it a town tell is kind of suspicious.
The game. Guess what? You just lost it.

If more people vote hopped, we'd be better off. Or do you like CJ and cobalt sitting on your wagon?

Now, NavyCherub, that was a question worthy hop (onto the llama wagon).

I'll see you guys in a few days. I figured I might as well use my day power. It won't take effect until tonight, but it will be good. (assuming it works, there's a chance it might totally fail and not work at all, which would suck)

While continuing to discuss how to proceed, you suddenly hear some music emanating from somewhere. It is quiet, but it seems extremely clear. Suddenly, you feel like you want to join in......

Everyone in the town must now make a choice whether to
Join In
or
Opt Out
. Once a majority of people have voted for either option, that will be locked in, and something might happen. You have 5 days to choose, and I will post this information along with the Vote Counts.

On an unrelated note, I am handing out prods to those who need them.

I think I'll go for join in. But llama said his power wouldn't take effect until night, and he's disappeared so we can't ask him what this does.

xvart is lurking in this game compared to others. xvart is scum. Scum are lurking because llama has a bunch of votes.

twomz
xvart
NavyCherub
Cobalt

Most likely, all of the scum are on this list.

To a degree, yes. But there has to be some basic level of justification for the hopping. Just saying "unvote, vote obvscum so-and-so" is not pro town vote hopping.

Also, Jack:
xvart, 404 wrote:Jack - did you get any info from your fake daykill?
And, you never got back to me on your vote on me.
CJMiller wrote:I prefer lobster thermidor aux crevettes in a Mornay sauce garnished with truffle paté and a fried egg on top and spam.
Anything you want to add to your policy vote? How does it benefit town more than scum to off someone who replaced out on D2 in a game of all power roles?

Hallo all. I'll be replacing . . . someone. I actually don't know who I'm replacing yet. All I know is that malthusis asked me if I could replace, and I can. So yeah, I'll be reading the thread either tonight or tomorrow, and hopefully I'll get a role PM at some point.

I'm not lurking, this week is AP test week and I've been sort of busy, but I'm keeping up. So I guess I am lurking. But today was the last one (AP English Lit and Comp) so I'll be more active in my games again.

I'm confused about this Join In/Opt Out thing. Are we voting for the entire player base, or just ourselves? It stops when a majority have votes for either side, which makes me think that it is the former. And in that case, what is the point of "good balance" in the vote, in that case?

Anyway,

Geeeez it's taking a long time to deal with all of my games today. I'm going to start reading now, but no guarantees that I'll finish/post tonight. I need to actually sleep sometime tonight, and I still have to clear out my dorm room before tomorrow.

I have about ten minutes or so to type, so this will be short. (I got interwebz for a bit)

join in
I dunno what it will do to
me
but it can't hurt.

In case you couldn't tell, this is mah super duper day power.

oh, and I also find it interesting that xvart responded as soon as being called, but I find it more interesting that UK only called him on it.

I finally figured out why I had an instinctively negative response to the vague attacks: I'm currently at a debate tournament that I've been preparing for for a while, and in debate vague arguments = I don't have anything to say.
