So, how's things? I'd just to like everyone, how much experience do you have with mafia? I've personally played about 3-4 games offsite and this is my third on-site.
Also, hey Deer, how's it going?

Seeing as we are about to start soon, I have some questions to ask everybody.

1. Do you prefer a faster paced game or a slower game with discussion?

2. Do you think online mafia is more a psychological game or a logic game?

3. On day 1, do you think that a random lynch is better than no lynch?

4. Do you think that WIFOM is a scumtell?

5. Do you think that OMGUS is a scumtell?

6. Would you classify your playstyle as aggresive, analytical, passive or other (if so, state what).

My answers are:
1. I prefer a slower game with more discussion, you get more data to work with.
2. I think that online mafia is a logic game, trying to piece together things which just don't fit to decide who is right and who is dead.
3. I think that on day 1, a random lynch still has a chance of catching scum, and even if it doesn't, it gives more data to work with, eliminating a person as possible scum.
4. An excess of WIFOM and solely WIFOM is a scumtell.
5. OMGUS is either a sign of newbiness or careless scum.
6. I'd classify myself as analytical.

Just so that we get to know everyone. :D

Good luck everyone, let's go!

There are several advantages of RQS, including getting to know people and finding more out about others' playstyles. However, that being said:
Vote:Thief

There can be only one thief in the house... :P

In all seriousness, the beginning part of the game is mostly getting to know everybody and introductions.

3. Random lynch. NL is uninformative and stupid.
4. Not a catch-all.
5. Not a catch-all.
6. Wildly swingy.

@Red_Star: Why are you starting off with Random Questioning Stage? It's an absolutely pointless vehicle for starting discussion, and allows scum to contribute without fear. ANYBODY can answer these questions eloquently and look like a pro-town player.

Too bad I can't vote right now.

To let you know, RQS is a perfectly acceptable method of getting to know other people you are playing with and seeing if people slip up later. Also, what strikes me as odd is that you consider this scummy, despite the fact that it is literally the only thing we were able to do, seeing as it was pre-game. I personally RVS to have the possibility of accidently screwing over the town on occaision, but in reality there is no foolproof way to win.
yabbaguy wrote:@Red Star: What do you learn from my answers?
First of all, I know that you prefer a faster paced game because in a slow one people lose interest. Secondly, you like to throw around suspicions by accusing the person who asked the questions of acting scummy. Thirdly, you prefer a random lynch over a no-lynch, as it is more revealing and gives more data to work with. Fourthly, you believe that WIFOM and OMGUS are not a valid scumtell, as anybody could use them legitimitely. Finally, you classify your playstyle as extremely erratic, giving you leeway to act however you want and claim it's what you always do.

So far, Dr. Cyanide has voted three completely different people which is either really poor scum play or just plain stupid. Are you intentionally trying to cast as of yet baseless suspicions?

That said, I'm
FoS:yabbaguy
and
FoS:Dr. Cyanide
for trying to cast baseless suspicions and accusations, and in Cyanide's case being wishy-washy with votes.
Looks like this game is starting to get out of RVS right about now...

Now analysis

Chevre- Too little information to go on, seems to not care about the game (like many others).

Cuetlachti/RealityFan- Seems to be town due to some content, but too little info to go on right now.
However, the fact that Cuetlachti decided to quit makes me think he was a bored Vanilla Townie

Dr Cyanide- A lot of random votes without much behind them.

Elias_the_thief- Acting kinda suspicious, but due to lack of content there isn't much to go on

Empking- Very defensive, throwing suspicions around, contributes little and suggests we just randomly bandwagon someone.

Jag Johan- Contradicts himself, admits he looks scum, copies someone, and votes Red Star

sorasgoof- Says he forgot about game. PLAY MOAR, N00b!

Thief- Very little info, too little content

VibeBox- Seems to be actually scumhunting, but does zigzag a bit.

yabbaguy- Very confrontational and argumentative. However, wants game to continue at faster pace

And in order of most to least scummy....

MOST
~~~~~~~~~
Empking
Jag Johan
Dr Cyanide
sorasgoof
chevre
yabbaguy
Thief
RealityFan
VibeBox
~~~~~~~~~~
LEAST

That said and done,
Unvote, Vote: Empking
, mainly due to his post 19 and general lack of content.
yabbaguy, just a question which might make you less frustrated, how do you believe that being argumentative and confrontational is helping the town locate and catch scum?

EBWOP:
Thanks, Deer, I didn't notice I left you out.

Deer- Not much to go on, seems to be voting mainly on the fact that people 'are trying too hard to look good'. Try and get a more convincing case.

Empking wrote:I'm voting Jag. How is wanting to wagon Jag random?
As in the act of trying to get everyone to wagon Jag, thus ending discussion and cutting the day short, is random. Not that you suggest that a random person is voted.
Empking wrote:Which players have contributed more than me?
VibeBox, RealityFan, yabbaguy. The majority of your posts have been either defensive, pointing fingers over minor things and rather not actually trying to figure out who is scum. You seem to be thinking that everybody in the game is scum, instead of everybody having the possibility of being scum.
Empking wrote:What posts did I defend myself in?
Post 8, 9, 10, 12, 17. About 23% of your posts.
Empking wrote:What's "throwing suspicions around"?
As in, you've been accusing people over fairly minor and trivial things (eg: a non-serious vote in RVS, changing votes in RVS to prevent possible bandwagons, saying only scum think too much about the game, not voting and not wagoning somebody) which don't seem to be that worthy of note. However, you have help generate discussion from the reactions of people from these accusations, so their not entirely useless.
