If you're dead in all but one games you haven't been doing proper planning. I'm always alive in 3 games because I never let myself drop below 4 if there's a risk of getting killed. And if I feel I'm about to get killed I join a new one.
I also make sure I'm not in more than 5 games at a time.
Managing games is rather irrelevant though.
