I can think of a few reasons why DN would ask about the VT pm, only one marks him as scum.
Ifrinn kinda makes sense. People are charging headlong into item theory, and don't get me wrong I love talking theory, but it seems premature until we actually see a grab happen and understand the process better.
My main worry though is the scum targeting anyone who grabs an item. If people admit to gaining an item then it's a little like broadcasting the PR's in a more normal game, and early on that is something that doesn't get done.
Later on, yeah maybe.Quando Omni Flunkus Moritati-

Ifrinn: "If people admit to gaining an item"
Perhaps I should have been clearer, but I was talking about item grabbing in relation to Socrates "People who gain an item anounce it" thing.
Specifically I'm worried that announcing that I have gained an object might be enough to paint a big NK target on my back, similar to anouncing that I have a power role in a more normal game could.
Combined with Charlie's comments about a lack of PR's (At least until we see his reasoning/justification) makes me worry about Socrates' plan/suggestion.
In fact anouncing could be worse here because of the posibility of less PR's means that the scum might feel bolder.
Come on Charlie, talk to us.Quando Omni Flunkus Moritati-

Bob: Well, he could just be pointing out a mod error, being a mod himself. Or tweeky Reck/Kise's nose a little. Or just being DN. He has something of a rep
Soc: Not the role kind. I was curious if Charlie was acting from inside info (Which in a way he is using info from the actual game) or if he'd spotted something.
Fungoid: Spell it out please, because all I see is BV310 being BV310.
Amished, are you saying that the lack or style of activity discussing the vote on Ifrinn points to SK|alternate scum?Quando Omni Flunkus Moritati-

Why do people keep saying that they'll eat their hat if I flip town? You're like the third or fourth.
Soc, if you haven't worked it out, I think your idea is for town to decide publically who gets an item, for the person who gets the item to announce themselves and what it does. I can't decide if this is stupidity, brilliance, or scummy. But I think it's not in the towns best interests. Or I'm completely missing something.
Ifrinn however seems to be advocating a more reasonble approach that is more in line with regular PR use/claiming.
But overall I think this item theory is confusing/hiding issues that we should be more concerned with.Quando Omni Flunkus Moritati-

Socrates, what are you getting at re Charlie? That he says we have no power roles?
Amished, can you explain it?
If it's the "We have no power roles", well I asked Charlie about that and was happy with the answer. I can also show quite easily why I also think there are few to no power roles.Quando Omni Flunkus Moritati-

"I suspect Doc doesn't,"
You're right, I didn't. Thought you were getting at something that could be called couching from the same post concerning Bob.
I get what you mean now. I think I missed it because I also think you're original idea would paint targets on the item grabbers, and agree with Charlie about the limited number of PR's. (Though I reached that conclusion differently.)Quando Omni Flunkus Moritati-

Charlie (#61), that Tar quotes above, is closely followed by Dizzy (#68) who brings up DN's question about the VT sample with "I forgot about this for a second... "
From here a DN wagon forms and continues rolling then Dizzy gets off it in #185 for no aparent reason.
So the question I have is:
Is Dizzy's post a (Pretty bloody effective) deflection from a possibly scummy Charlie post?Quando Omni Flunkus Moritati-

To be fair Dizzy, Socrates plan/idea produced no early town benifit. Day 3, or day 2 if we get more item drops, and I can see it doing some good.
Though if we get a third drop today it becomes more plausable.
Which is the danger of it as presented, and why I'm not sure if it's scummy or not. It's the un-used items re-drop that makes it potentially useful, if the grabee does the claim thing with the power, and the scum might not be able to, or willing to, kill all the grabbers.

"I'll show you mine if you show me yours" works for tits and dicks, not mafia. I hate it when people say the'll give their case later.jmj3000 wrote:You will get cases from me as soon as the replacements comment on what they think their predecessors were thinking when they were posting.

What reasons?Furry (didn't ask for several reasons)
Since the gun grab is a pretty good reason to have a closer look at thatguy I'd like to know why not Furry.
Oh, and whoever asked about me being slightly absentia.
