Newbie 920: Mafia in Newbietown (Game over! Town wins!)

You say "several" but there are only two mafia in an F11 or are you including the people you're shooting at night?

Alright. Questions to all players:

1) What experience, if any, do you have in playing the game of Mafia?
2) Please describe your playstyle. Do you feel that you are more biased towards logic or gut? How would you describe your reasoning process?
3) Why do you play Mafia?
4) Is it an African Swallow or a European Swallow?
5) Would you prefer playing as town or as scum? Why?
6) Would you agree with the statement, "Lynch all Liars"? Why? How about the statement "You appear to be too townie, therefore you must be scum" or "Never lynch a claimed power role on the same day that the player claims"?

I will be giving my answers after everybody else has answered, as to avoid biasing the answers of everybody else.

1)very minimal, i've read some games.

2)I am ok with gut, so long as they have at least a little reason and/or it is early in the game. I have a more or less passive-defensive playstyle and often times am slightly lazy.

3) 0.0... because its fun of course! Did want a different kind of answer? Like, 'for the challenging and learning expeirience'?

4) aaahhhh... everyone else has said either european or 'dunno!' so it must be African!

5) hmm... good question... i've never tried it as scum so i dont really know...

6) um, "lynch all Liars" kinda sounds like scum to me, a potential 'lie' could be because of a misunderstanding, a power role, or RL (real life) in extreme cases. "You appear to be too townie, therefore you must be scum" that sounds like a paranoid town and i dont really agree with it. "Never lynch a claimed power role on the same day that the player claims" this is somewhat situational. Does this mean, a claimed power role

without

a counterclaim?

A) If you're pro-town and someone else that is pro-town votes to lynch you, is someone playing badly? If so, who?
B) If you were pro-town and were almost certainly going to be lynched, what would you do?
C) Under what circumstances is it okay to list or not list your suspects?
D) When someone votes a new suspect, should that person explain why they unvoted their old suspect too?
E) If someone doesn't answer a question, does that make them scum, scummy, or just annoying?

A) not necessarily, scum could be good. Once again there could be a misunderstanding, a replacement problem, etc.

B) uh, i don't really know, never been in that spot. I guess the only thing to do is try to prove them wrong and keep scumhunting.( if someone is about to be lynched they should post their suspicions as it would benefit the town ^^)

C) i don't know,... Wait are these aimed toward the IC's and SE?

Ah, sorry. We simulposted. In response to Unsight, I tend to go through a lot of suspects until I figure out exactly who I'm going to press heavily on D1. I wouldn't be surprised if I posted serious cases against at least 5 players in the game. Sure, logically they can't ALL be scum, but you have to put pressure on players to determine their alignment, and I find that well-reasoned pressure is far better than random pressure.

How do you back away from pressuring someone without creating an OMGUS vote back against you? Also, it seems like if you pressure too many people then it might look like you're just trying to see what bandwagon gains momentum.

You back away from pressuring someone when they give good, logical answers to your questions. Also, OMGUS is a scumtell in and of itself. And sure, it might seem that it's just bandwagon fishing, but really, it's just an attempt to see where the cracks are in the scumteam. Of course, if you think that I am trying to just find a bandwagon which is gaining momentum, you should point that out. It may very well be that I *am* scum.

D) i don't they have to if they have a {better} reason for voting the new person.

E) Well, they are annoying if they lurk without telling us any RL (real life) excuses, but if they are active they could have
-missed it (not scummy)
-ignored it (um, strange and pretty scummy) or
-thought it was an invalid/sarcastic question (not scummy)
But i would think scum would be on their toes and try and answer every question.
