Actually, he IS obligated to. If you have 2 or more finished games on this site you MUST occupy an SE spot. You are no longer a Newbie, and therefore you don't get to occupy a Newbie spot.

The SE spot is NOT a teaching position. Only the ICs are teaching positions, hence they must be vetted to be an IC. The SE spot is there for people who understand how our games on this site work and want to play a Newbie game, for whatever reason, but don't want to be an IC (or don't qualify to be an IC).

The entire point of making the SE slot was to prevent games from starting too rapidly with the majority of the players being experienced players, not site Newbies. The Newbie games are here for the Newer player first and foremost. If we have a Newbie game with 2 Newbies, 1 IC, and the rest SEs it just uses up an IC and a Mod who could be used in a Newbie game with predominantly Newbie players. So in a sense it does stretch the number of ICs and Mods further, but I don't think it actually increases the IC or Mod signup rate (God I wish).

oh i see that i didn't list 5 games I have been in to try and be an IC for the newbie games, but i just updates my profiles wiki with all my completed games and links to all but one cuz i couldn't find it.
