I disagree with this. I didn't refuse, and I think my reasoning made adequate sense.

This whole thing is fairly odd.

Unvote Phate

I just read his whole claimy thing, and I need to think. It seems to me that there are probably 3-4 players of each "alignment." I would guess that one from each group can convert other players their alignment (a la Snow_Bunny). Another can probably identify others' current alignments to some degree (although the Guilty/Innocent nature makes this... difficult). I'm willing to bet that at least one alignment has a role that can kill other players (else I'd be hard-pressed to call this Mafia of any kind). There are also likely some vanilla sympathizers.

I'm tempted to suggest no-lynching and seeing if we can "convert" everyone to the same group. My only concern with that is that, once one group had a majority of players, then everyone left out of the loop would be "endgamed."

I don't think we should read too much into Phate's claim without more professed pro-town WBs/Crapple/etc. persons.

This doesn't seem weird to you? I don't doubt Phate, because why would he do it as scum? (On that note,
Unvote
.)

We're resdy to string up a scummy player, but then he is replaced, and claims cop. Then, a different player suggest massclaim. a wagon forms on him, and he says that he's also a cop. I think it's weird.

Your first post looked like you were discrediting Phate's post. But then you supported Glork's post in your following post.

If you were just commenting on the course of events being weird, I guess that's not necessarily inconsistent. But that's not how I took it at the time because of the rest of that post.

Phate's claim seems to be a mixture of mine/almaster's and snow_bunny's if I'm reading it right.

I think I buy his reasons for a mass claim. I'm still unsure about the whole multiple alignments thing in the game, I guess since it's a bastard game anything can happen. Let me think a bit more on it, but considering the claims so far it doesn't seem outside the realms of posibillity.

I think somebody asked if I was specifically told I was a miller? The answer is yes.

My role PM strongly led me to believe that the town is broadly Linux, and that WinBlows are scum. I could understand if there were two large alignments, Linux and WinBlows, but it would clash with my pm if Crapple was a large alignment (unless, perhaps, it was a scum alignment).

Here's what seems likely to me: WinBlows vs Linux, with some conversion, and I investigate as guilty to both. God only knows what my win condition is in this situation, as there appear to be two towns. From my pm, I'd tentatively guess that I win with Linux.
Also possible: WinBlows + Linux (+me) vs. Crapple. The cops see everyone not with them as scum.
If Phate is lying: WinBlows vs. Linux
I'd feel cheated by Winblows vs. Linux vs. Crapple.

I still believe we should be lynching Phate. In any of the above scenarios, a WinBlows cop is no fun. Also, if Phate flips "innocent", that tells us a lot more about the setup than no lynch.

Crap. I realized something. Taking into account all late theories and Phate's claim:

Phate has most likely my same role, but converting to WinBlows. Faraday's (he's the other claimed cop, right?) probably also there, but with another OS. I know the mod said flavour being a null-tell, but well, I can't help but thinking that in light of the evidence presented.

And after this, I do want to lynch Phate. Someone changing alignment for WinBlows seems like a bad thing for town.

I theorize the setup is cults instead of mafia. It seems possibly, bastardly enough, and fits the flavour just nicely.
Taking a long break from mafia games.

In honor of Erika Furudo, my first scum win (Umineko Mafia).

Doesn't look like a lot to catch up on. If the set up is cults instead of mafia, I think we discussed that earlier as possible. I'm willing to lynch Phate on that hunch, as well as how bad his iso looks. (Granted, my threshold for "willing to lynch" with an existing wagon is rather low given how close we are to deadline)

Fair enough. Do you think that massclaim would be a good or bad idea with this "Figuring out"? Actually, what WOULD you advise based on what you think you know? Or shall I not ask?

If Phate is truthful but Glork is right, then Phate is functionally WBscum. If Phate is totally making it up, then he is conventionally WBscum. Failing to see WBscum/town scum come out, I think killing Phate is a good option.

UK: I thinik massclaiming will put everyone at an impasse.

Iece: But from Phate's perspective, he is protown and everyone else (Crapple/Linux) is scum.

Then do you have any suggested course of action? And would it be wise to tell all of us what you've figured out, or hold it back? I'm guessing the latter.

If I thought it were better to explain, I would have done so already.

I really don't know what to do right now. I truly, honestly don't. I think I need to read back over some stuff and figure out which lynch is most appropriate.

Of course, I could be completely wrong in how I think the setup works... that's actually the main reason I don't want to share. A town operating on bad setup assumptions is more destructive to itself than the scums could ever be.

To me, at least, that is irrelevant. I'm neither WBtown nor WBscum. So I think the probability of Phate being a different alignment from me is fairly high.

Do you think we should softclaim what company/entity we're associated with? I think we have this so far:

Faraday -- Google
Alma -- WBuser, but wants to switch to Linux
Phate -- WBadministrator, but wins with town
Fishy -- CrApple

Glork will sharing what you think help/hinder if it's the set-up you think? Is it possible people would be able to weigh in and help?

I still don't mind a Pom lynch for behaviour alone.

Right; I didn't mean to imply you'd claimed otherwise. I wrote it that way because you gave us switchFlavor and Phate hasn't given us anything analogous, really, except that his network is inefficient.
