It's not obvious that you'd be vanilla, not even close. Out of the 6-7 random draft tests I made pre-game, only one of them used up all the roles in the end. And I would assume that when adding the human element, less roles would be chosen, quite possibly.

As for why am I not worried about someone who may be an uberscum? I am worried about uberscum, but to me, umberscum are just a little more dangerous than normal scum, whereas ubertown is a lot more helpful than vanilla town.

What if, starting at the bottom of the draft, Vanillas claimed, stating what their request was.

It doesn't (until we get close to the top) really pinpoint who has the role, just that its out there and somewhere above that person. It gives us a bit to work with.
It gives the scum more, which is a downside, but that's the downside of every claim.

I thought about that as well, but I don't like it. If every VT is exposed, then every power role is by nature as well. The scum would be garuanteed of hitting a PR each kill. It also doesn't hugely benefit us to know which roles are out there.

MC may be very useful in the future, or even limited claim of some sort but at the moment, I don't think it'll serve much use to us.

Orit. Don't see why a townie would confirm this beyond a reasonable doubt at all. Scum on the other hand may try and get away w/ an early vanilla claim, also makes him a very unlikely night kill target, something he shouldn't want if town.
