What exactly is "estranged voting"?
Did you not read at all? Quag clearly explained his problem with shanba's vote on Tjoe.

My apologies. RL is getting in the way again, and I won't be able to commit to reading up on this until Friday.

same reason my BW never got off the ground. Everybody is too scared to commit themselves, and there's always somebody out there who starts screaming at the first person to attempt to start a BW.

I personally do not think Kirby is scum. Faulty logic + VI != scumtell

He seems more moronic than scummy (no offence kirby) so for now I rather not vote for him.

I'd like to try to explain away Mr.Jester's play, but unfortunately, I can't read his mind, and I don't know what was going through his head when he posted. Furthermore, although I replaced in for him, I am not him, so I should not be held responsible for his actions.

You definitely think something needs to be explained away there though, right? ME TOO.

Everyone else is acting like it was no big deal, so I'm plenty glad to finally have someone who agrees with me.

Um, you share the same role. While you can't necessarily explain what your predecessor was thinking, you are still accountable for his actions, because you now have his role. They happened, and we can't just pretend they never did.

What are you talking about? You clearly didn't read at all if you think the problem Quag had with shanba's vote was that no one was voting Tjoe at the time.

You can call me dumb all you want, but I looked back through your iso, and nowhere did you give a definition for "estranged voting". I personally have never heard of this scumtell, and would be delighted if you would share your wisdom(!).

I've explaned Shanba's 'estranged voting' probably 3 or 4 times now.

Because you're admitting to not caring about his alignment when voting for him... it's like you're trying to apply unnecessary pressure, which isn't a townie move.

If you were a newer player, I'd give this a pass as a mafia gaffe, but an experienced townie player should know better than to push a wagon that's not scummy.

OK guys, I have a confession to make.

I'm deathly bored of mafia. Every time I log on or try to log on I have about 9 or 10 things that I'd rather do instead. As such, I'm requesting replacement; it's that or find myself posting once ever week or so in response to prods before finally disappearing alltogether: I'm sorry everyone, especially the mod, but you'll have to trust me that it's better this way.

Looking back, I didn't really like Sanjay's little semantics argument with Mr. Jester. I don't get what he was trying to achieve, nor what he saw that he thought was scummy.

Also,
Sanjay wrote:Wow, don't help him any, Fonzie.
this post rang alarm bells in my mind. I have no idea why he would say that, tbh; I can't tell if it was a joke (notscummy) or him deliberately claiming that Fonz shouldn't engage here. At best, it's a throwaway post, which reinforced my impression that he was posting a lot of throwaway posts.

@Quag's 265: Ok, that's good. Didn't see how that reason could be estranged is why I didn't notice it as a definition, but if that's the way you define it, I'm fine with it.

Reading isos, post and vote forthcoming!

I said "Wow, don't help him any, Fonzie." because he asked kind of a leading question.

His question "Are you saying that by admitting that he doesn't think the behaviour is scummy, he renders his own vote useless?" was leading because, while it is a great point, there was really no evidence of that kind of thinking in Quagmire's post.

Theoretically, The Fonz could be Quag's scumbuddy trying to lead him to a more defensible position. Is that super-likely? Probably not. It's not like Quag was getting that much heat for his position.

But I definitely didn't see the harm in throwing that accusation at The Fonz and seeing what happens.

But with Mr.Jester, I think I have good reason to be voting for him:

Here's what I saw:

First, I vote Mr.Jester in Post 63

In post 74, he says this:
Mr.Jester wrote:As for your vote, you have given no justification or reasoning. That's twice you've done this already in a game that's 3 pages long.
Previously, I had voted for Chinaman in post 48, but my reasons for doing so were in a previous post, post 45. I presume he overlooked that, saw the post with nothing but "Vote: Chinaman" in it and figured he had me on something.

I post this in post 78:
Sanjay wrote:Twice? What was the first time? My vote for Cobalt? Because surely you don't mean my vote for Chinaman. Did you miss post 45? I would expect someone weighing in and commenting on the oddness of the Chinaman wagon to pay more attention to me than that.
Now here's where the scumminess really kicks in:

Rather than just saying "Oh yeah, I missed your explanation", he sets up this truly bizarre argument where because he doesn't think my explanation for why Chinaman was scum is poor it makes sense for him to say I had no justification or reasoning.

I think I nail him with post 83, and he is never heard from again.

Reread this exchange.

It is more than just semantics.

On the contrary. I found Quag's post kinda hard to parse, but after I thought about it for a while, thay was far and away my best guess at to what he was actually saying. (I'd be interested in knowing how you paraphrased it). I asked whether I was correct in this reading, because I didn't want to make assumptions about Quag's mindset based on something he didn't actually mean.

I guess I just don't see any problem with asking someone if the way you interpreted what they said is actually what they meant.

I think describing Mr. Jester's post as 'flat out lying' is rather stretching the point.
