Lewarcher's reaction to his wagon just scream caught-out scum to me.

@Juls, Snow White seems to have legit reasons, there are better people to hassle. But I couldn't agree more with your first paragraph. I still have no read on over half the town.

Putting this in a little perspective for those following the thread.
We have less than a week to lynch.

Just a note that one week extentions can be established if requested and I see that the effort is being put in. The 2 week deadline is designed to remove this sluggish talky play that we have on MS right now.

OK...lets try some questions to stir things up...
lewarcher82
- what is a typical scum tell during RVS that you have noticed?
Vaya
- who do you think has said something scummy in this game so far?
Snow White
- do you think it will be good to lynch town given the opportunity for gaining power roles?
Tjoe Min Ja
- do you think scum might sacrifice one of their own to gain power roles?
Haylen
- do you think scum in this game is lurking, if so, who is the biggest offender and why?
Taranski
- have you ever intentionally lurked day one as scum? as town? If so, provide links.
Maemuki
- what do you think of my game play so far?
mentosman8
- have you played with any players in this game before, if so, who?
J-Fox
- when you have played scum, how often do you get caught and lynched?
malthusis
- what active scumhunting have you done in this game? Why should I not vote you?
Juls
- how did you become so awesome?
Budja
- you said your playstyle varies from game to game, can you give some examples of specific things you have modified since Communique mafia when playing scum?

I like the idea of questions as long as they don't distract people too much from "recent" events.
Juls wrote:Budja - you said your playstyle varies from game to game, can you give some examples of specific things you have modified since Communique mafia when playing scum?
I have not being scum since communique (although I was scum in the majority of my earlier games).
As scum I tended not to make cases (saw everyone as town) and died early for that but not in every scum game and I did this as town sometimes too. TBH, I don't know my own meta.

@lewarcher : if you are going to be TOO busy ask for a replacement.

unvote

Also, you say you are unvoting for the size of the wagon. I find it hard to believe you hadn't noticed all the other vote before. [/quote]

@Juls: why do I get the less interesting question? RVS were long discussed, and I do not think that anything really scummy happened. Anyway, Tjoe's post 36 remains the only (possibly overrated) scumtell, and the votes on Tjoe cannot be considered random anymore... course if he is town there can be mafia on the wagon, although I do not think that mafia would be so stupid to look for a quick lynch on page 3 or 4 of day 1.

(the first genius who says "look, he tries to convince us that mafia didn't look for a quickliynch because he actually did" will win a teddybear and will be nominated fot the 'Nondescript Mammal Prize' 2010)

Yeah, I half-read his last post and it wasn't really that bad. Still think he is the most likely scum though (out of the few actual posters anyway).

I am posting as much as I can. I'd like to play, but if at least a couple of you guys think I should ask for replacement, I'll do.

@Budja: I was freaking back from a freaking V/LA, dude, I am a little sick of repeating the same thing over and over again.

I usually don't lurk as town when I play on my other site. I'm usually one of the most active. However there is something about this site that makes it harder for me to follow games which sometimes leads to inactivity. I think it's because I don't recognize anyone's names/the color scheme. It's really weird.

As scum, I could easily see myself lurking. I get alot more nervous as scum, so I try not to talk as much. I've only played as mafia twice before so I'm not completely sure. I did lurk alot in my newbie game as scum, but I think I would attribute that to the site.

While skimming people are mentioning Lewarcher... I'll look into that when i reread.

I have a new question that I would like to ask everyone. Is there anyone willing to sacrifice themselves to give town an early edge in the game. Yes or no?

Me: Yes.

I will let you know the results of why I am asking after everyone has answered.

Overall, i'm the biggest lurker. Lol. Not really :D I've actually been ill for the past few days. Could go into detail, pretty sure you dont want to know.

Tjoe isn't lurking. Neither is J-Fox - I can vouch for the fact that he has been busy.
So those scum aren't lurking.

The most scum I have seen in a 12 player game is 4, three mafia one SK. So we could be looking for up to 4 scum here. I'm pretty sure we dont have less than 2 because unless the one that is here is a mafia JOAT then that would be horrifically unbalanced.

What does an "early edge" mean? I guess my ESL knowledge of slang is not sufficiently good.

Anyway, I will be honest. Unless my sacrifice generates for sure an advantage to town, and a big one, too, say it guarantees the identification of 1 scum or something like that, I normally do not want to be lynched.

In mini normal 850, for instance, on Day 2, I was willing to sacrifice myself cuz it looked like it was the only way to be clear and cuz I was (wrongly!!!) convinced that I would have demonstrated Snow Bunny was scum (she wasn't, town failed, we lost). But this is quite rare, it is not my style as long as I can help it.

So to give your question a direct answer: I should be really convinced it is necessary, either by own readings or by someone I trust.

Honestly, no. I've always this survival self preservation thing in games. As town, i absolutely hate being lynched, and will sometimes hammer another person I don't think is scum to prevent a haylen lynch. It's a very very bad habit and i'm trying to get better with it.

I don't think anyone should sacrifice themselves. A scum lynch must surely still be better than a town lynch. If we lynch town today, as we have quite a "good" chance of doing, we have the consolation of getting our edge.

So I think it is a pointless and anti-town move. I am very interested in your motivation here Juls.

@Haylen, self-preservation is not a bad habit but self-preservation at all costs is (i.e fakeclaiming as town, laying low to avoid NK at VT, surviver play.).

I've never fake claimed as a townie. I've seen how badly that can go. I breadcrumbed as a townie in one of my earlier games, but havent since. (The irony is the people in that game didnt think i was smart or experienced enough to breakcrumb...). I have gotten a lot better. If I'm particularly worried about being NK'd, i have been known to delibrately make a few scumtells towards the end of the day such as AtoE.

*nods* If there's no better alternative, sure.
Maemuki - what do you think of my game play so far?
I like it. Trying to make people talk, ask questions. All stuff that I agree with. Therefore, I think you're town at the moment. Of course, it's not like we have anything important happening, so, the opinion might change. But, for now, your game play so far has been good.
