FL, I think you're relaying
too much
in previous games. I have a general town-read from you now, but more like paranoid town.

SSK: If you feel your Ultimate will possibly end up helping scum, then why do you want to trigger it? And, why the eagerness to lynch you today? Sounds like this going to end up badly for town... Any roads, we can only hope for the best now.
Taking a long break from mafia games.

Is it paranoia when they are out to get you? I've played every Tar game except mostly mountainous and MS 1. He's back up modded every game I'VE run here except for insane asylum.

I know how he thinks, and he knows how I think. No, more accurately, I have a vague idea how he thinks. No, he's not going to repeat previous games. But he will use basic ideas.

I'm practically of the same mindset that Boxman had on post #185. Except for the possible Vengeful (which can be easily remedied by making zwet the hammer vote), I see very few disadvantages to voting SSK right now.

How do I know you're on my "team", potential-anti-town-Xyl?
Calling someone potential-anti-town is easy.
Calling someone potential-anti-town with reasons...isn't. So? Infounded attacks ftw I guess.
B. and possibly C too
On which ways would it help scum? I'm sorry, but I want to know if your lynch is worth it...or not.

What's your reasoning, Reckoner?

People are failing to realize even a vig can 'potentially help the scum'. A vig isn't guaranteed pro-town results. Getting caught up on whether or not SSK's can 'help or hurt' the town is irrelevant because he has stated that he isn't going to state the nature of his ability.

Reck's self-centered, self-serving attitude isn't helpful either.
Not voting a player because they are potentially a bomb?
You act like you are the only one with a power role in this game.
Where in fact, everyone is a power role.

And I can't really see a player who is a bomb telling the town, 'oh hey, lynch me please,' fresh into D1.

If SSK was a bomb that also had another ability that was on death that helped the town, then the logical conclusion is that you would FIRST find scum, then lynch up scum, but before hammers can be dropped, SSK would go 'oh, I'm a bomb, with good things when I die, have that scum hammer me.' And if said scum player refused to hammer, than that would help confirm his guilt through his self preservation, and he would then get lynched anyways.

The kind of attitude that a player won't vote for someone because they think they might be a bomb, especially since bombs work on hammer votes and you certainly wouldn't be hammering him, is terribly scummy. Not to mention the whole 'vote zwet cause he is anti-town' before zwet has even shown that in this game, is silly.

This is basically what I've been thinking in regards to the idea that SSK's role could potentially help scum. A few people are making too big a deal out of it, most(non-investigative) roles that actually do something could potentially help out scum more than town(a vig killing townies, doc protecting scum from death, RB'er blocking pro-town actions, etc.).

Really, the fact that SSK is honest enough to admit that about his role gives me a feeling that we can trust him. I don't think he'd say something that could discourage the town like that if he were scum trying to sucker the town into lynching him.

SSK should be lynched asap, there's no point in wasting time trying to go after other people right now when the logical play would still be to lynch SSK at the end of the day. There's no reason we can't wait until tomorrow for that.

"Outsider, n. - An alien species hailing from the Kalida galaxy. The Outsiders are physiologically adapted for living in extremely cold environments (less than 50 degrees Kelvin). This radically different physiology gives the Outsiders a very different viewpoint, to such a degree that the Outsiders are only barely incomprehensible to most races. In particular, their goals remain unknown to other races."

First Blood

As you discuss possible reasons why
The Redshirt
was killed - if there is a conspiracy, who it might contain, what its motives might be -
xRECKONERx
steps into the diplomat quarters to pick up one of his favorite drinks. A liquid helium concoction, he calls it, but you think he's joking.

Ambassadors go to and from the diplomat quarters all the time on Ouranos, so you think nothing of it.

At least, you think nothing of it until one of you notices about thirty minutes later that
xRECKONERx
hasn't actually come back from his quarters. The intercom blaring to life a minute later (asking for personnel to clean up a nasty odor in the diplomacy sector) doesn't ease your concerns at all.

Could
xRECKONERx
have met an untimely demise? You send a squad of station security personnel to investigate.

Their report is not pretty.
xRECKONERx
was found dead in his quarters, emitting a rather nasty smell. Whoever killed him was an expert - he was killed by a single cut into a soft spot on his encounter suit (and a very small one at that - the security personnel missed the cut on their first inspection of the body).

More interesting, however, is the reason for the smell.
xRECKONERx
was not the Ancient that his encounter suit suggested. The smell of his decaying body, the cooling unit in the encounter suit, and the quarters
xRECKONERx
were found in lead to only one conclusion: he was, in fact, a member of the
Outsider
embassy to Ouranos station - and a highly ranked
Outsider
diplomat at that. What would such an important person be doing on Ouranos station?

Could the
Outsiders
BE the conspiracy? It's certainly possible - their motives are alien enough...

But if so... who killed
xRECKONERx
? Perhaps more importantly, why?

The situation may be more grave than it first appeared.

10) xRECKONERx, The Ambassador, Outsider Diplomat, Assassinated Day 1

Vote Count reset. Day 0 continues.
