Scene 5.4

As discussion continues over the ideal drink choice, the camera moves through the crowded bar to take in the atmosphere and whatever else is happening. Visiting tonight is Hugh Hefner, and he has his usual selection of Playboy Bunnies milling around him. Two are by his side, one holding each arm and periodically kissing him on the cheek. A third is sitting on his lap, holding his drink of choice, some bizarre concoction combining the dry kick of good gin with the regularity of Metamucil.

The camera eventually makes its way to the bar, where a man is sitting slumped over a stiff drink. He looks like he has recently been run over by a truck, or perhaps crushed by an anvil.

David Blaine has had a rough few days, but his liquid courage gives him the determination to turn the night around. He stands up, stumbling slightly to the left before he finds his balance.

David Blaine:
Ladies and gentlemen!

The low buzz of a dozen conversations continues, at a slightly softer level. A few heads turn to look at him. Most just ignore him.

David Blaine:
Your attention please! Could I have a volunteer from the audience to participate in a spectacular display of magical genius?

Hugh Hefner is intrigued - or possibly asleep, it is hard to say. Whichever is the case, his hand slides down the thigh of the bunny on his right arm. She is totally not suspecting that this will happen, having previously slipped Hugh a valium to ensure that he doesn't get frisky later. She yelps in surprise.

David Blaine:
Yes, thank you. You'll do quite nicely. What's your name, pretty lady?

The bunny looks around in confusion before realizing that she is the target of the magician's question.

Playboy Bunny:
Uh... me?

David Blaine:
Yes, step right up. Don't be shy!

The bunny hops over to stand next to the magician. This draws a few people's attention to whatever magic show is about to take place, but only because they were previously ogling the bunny's huge... tracts of land.

In the background, Death pulls an hourglass out of his robe. No, that isn't a euphemism. He holds it up, taps it with a bony finger, shakes it once or twice to be sure. Someone is about to die. Rather than moving straight toward the magician and bunny, he has to navigate around the crowd and bar. Of course, he could just walk through them all, but that is always unsettling and gives him the heebie jeebies. His path takes him out of the view of the camera momentarily, and when the camera picks him up again he looks slightly different and is holding the hourglass in the wrong hand. Details, details...

Hello all

I bring news from offstage.

1. Pooky has been modkilled for not posting enough. (I don't think there was a replacement available). No flip yet.

2. Gaspar has just been lynched. Earlier in the day he strongly hinted at being the AP, and posted what he called "breadcrumbs" that pointed to him being the AP. But the majority of us didn't believe it and after a while he said that of course he's not the AP, he was just trying to draw a night kill and protect the real one. Anyway Gaspar lynched and I'm not sure why it took so long but they were very good at delaying it.

3. CKD wants you to know urgently that he did NOT put Mighty Orbits in the list to go onstage. He wants you to weigh this up when deciding whether to follow MO's advice.

My interpretation is that I believe CKD, and I guess that MO is onstage because scum made him advocate. Whether that gives any indication of MO's alignment I am unsure.

We more or less came to the conclusion that the best move is to trust orbots on penalty of lynch if he ends up lying about his information.

At least, that's the sense I get from the condercet voting.

Do you have an opinion on our choice?

Putting the stuntman on-stage is clearly not beneficial to town anyways, and is something that we should ask CKD about.

I'm not sad to see Pooky go, given his performance in on-screen choices.

Even if we decided against Tequila, we'd still have to make a choice between Buttery Nipple and Vodka in roughly 3 days, with no information and little discussion about which way to go. I'd rather go with choosing Tequila and lynching Orbots if Tequila turns up bad than trying to deal with that debate.
I replaced into Chess Mafia for 6 months, and all I got was a win and this lousy sig.

I think that's the best thing that can be done. Even if MO is scum, I don't think he would want to reveal himself at this stage. So the info he gave is probably true.

From memory I don't think anyone offstage had any problem with your tequila choice, apart from possibly CKD who didn't trust the source of the information because "he's not supposed to be there".

BTW - CKD thinks scum are sacrificing one of their own to get a -1.

I agree that it's possible, but I do think tequila is the safest vote.

New Death/Talilan, can we lynch you if a lynch has not yet taken place? If I get the affirmative, I'll be happy to place my official vote.

I'm not liking Zappa/Mighty Orbot's answers at all today.

Thanks! I'm just wanting some strong assurance that a lynch has actually occurred, and we're not being duped into anything by ending the day.

I'll just ask that we wait for anyone who hasn't shown up yet before ending the scene, just so they can give their reactions/opinions about what CKD said, etc.

Is it just our ladies, Kelly & Valentine that we wait for?

Ms. Garrett would like to know if Mr. Zappa showed up to our meeting uninvited, whose invitation exactly did he steal?

And like others have said, why was DEATH given an invitation?

Sometimes Mr. Locke's mind works in mysterious ways, and there needs to be more transparency.

As of right now, it seems foolish to try and rock the boat when people are getting restless for something to drink, and the tequila has looked like a safe choice thus far. There certainly will be a lot to see though...

The list of who CKD thought he was sending onstage was probably posted, but I'm sorry I cannot remember who should have been here instead of Orbots.

We've taken over the director job for the time being, it will be interesting to see how we do in comparison to the old director.

Reeeeally interesting. I also lean to believe CKD here - the rules don't forbid this possibility, I think after rereading them.

This, is quite along my line of thinking. But as I said before, I doubt this is beneficial for scum at this moment. Choosing the tequila or choosing something else is the same right now. (Assuming we will get told afterwards what each choice would have given us.)

I'll make a post with my thoughts on each player when we leave the stage. It rather belongs there (and I am sick, and don't really want to stare at a screen for too long right now).

Happy Scumday, Thesp.
