It did not take long for those trapped inside the city to collect themselves after the shocking blast that killed many. Bodies (or the parts that could be found) were collected and rubble was removed. After the shock wore off, paranoia and anxiety took hold once again as accusations, theories, and blame was cast about. Minor violence broke out, but the enforcement brigade were able to control the remaining masses and some semblance of order was obtained. The Dark Goma Influencer came center stage and began questioning citizens. However, it appeared everyone had their own investigative techniques. KMD’s name began being heard over and over again. He became uneasy, eyes darting left and right. He claimed this, he claimed that. It appeared that each time he spoke another nail was driven into his coffin. Suddenly and forcefully he was grabbed and everyone’s fear and anger was turned toward KMD. A rope was tied around his neck and he was strung up to the nearest tree. He screamed, spat, and cursed at all who had sentenced him to death. As he was lifted into the air many thought that his cries of rage would silence. Astonishingly the rope did not seem to slow him or even affect him. Long minutes seemed to take years. KMD would not die. With a screech one the local fruit vendors who was a rather plump woman ran and jumped upon the KMD’s legs. No one was quite ready for that, or what occurred next. With a sickening snap like a breaking leather cord KMD’s head completely came off and his body and head fell to the ground.

His body still moved but in impossible ways. His eyes rolled back into his head and then completely disappeared. His corpse squirmed and pulsed. Then, unexpectedly, with a great rush vermin exited every open would and orifice that KMD had. His body deflated like a leaking water bag. The rodents look at the citizens of Surico with disdain and hatred. Then just as quickly separated in all directions.

Speechless The Dark Goma Influencer stared at the remains of the human suit that was KMD. The silence was deafening.

“I am not sure what we just witnessed. But it looks like we may have other entities to worry about other than The Converters”

He notices the sun disappearance from the skies and sighs.

“I suggest we stop for the night nothing will get accomplished in the dark. Go back to your homes. The enforcement brigade will show those trapped here to shelters in the area. “

With one last look at KMD.

The light of the morning sun peeks over the mountain range and floods light into the Surico and the Inner City. You awake and find a light white coating on the ground. Small snowflakes lazily fall from the sky. It is not unusual to see snow at this time of year. You are transfixed on the serenity that is this the morning almost forgetting about the events that occurred yesterday. Suddenly your trance is interrupted by a scream. Without actually seeing where the yelp of terror came from you knew what you would find there. Bloodshed, death, and sorrow. Everyone comes pouring out of their shelters and homes.

You are not sure who the first body belongs too. He resembles nothing but a hunk of meat and bone that looks like it has been feasted upon by hundreds of tiny little mouths. Several dead rats lay next to him. Apparently he put up a fight before being overwhelmed and consumed. Searching what is left of his tattered clothes you not only discover who it is, but that he possessed correspondence from the Converters.

This man was clearly evil, but no man deserves that fate.

Now all together, you discover this was not where the scream came from. You also notice some of your numbers are still missing. “Where is Spyrex”? you hear someone yell. Running to where Spyrex slept last night, you find a body and Spyrex standing above it with a look of horror on his face. At Spyrex’s feet is a nude Spyrex with a relaxed look of peace on his face. As Spyrex looks on in shock, you search the body and find no means to explain this.

Clearly disturbed you wonder what else you might find. Populartajo is also missing. You go to his massive home located in the Inner City. Knocking on his door you hear only silence. Breaking a widow you let yourselves in and discover is body in the kitchen. The body was just slightly cool, but he is clearly dead given the amount of blood pooled on the floor. Even though extremely wealthy, his money was unable to protect him in the end.

Perhaps some of the pieces of the puzzle are coming together, perhaps the mystery is only growing deeper. All that is certain is that there is much that threatens the security of Surico.
