Hello all, been out all day and just noticed that this started.
The Monkeyman-Starbuck exchange is really just a distraction, and not really necessary, its the beginning of the game, and the tendencies that are seen here can help later on, but it wasn't really necessary for the two of them to go at each other for something as silly as a vote on page one.
I see nothing wrong with not voting in the RVS because the vote will most likely be moved at some point of the day and there isn't anything to go on right now. I have played with Gorrad once or twice before and I don't believe I have played with anyone else here.
Through all of that, I will withhold my vote for now because I don't really see any one person being scummy enough for a vote and there isn't anyone who I feel needs to be pressured into speaking right now, as I was the last person to post in this game.2-1 as Town (including the 39 minute final day)

Then this:Monkey wrote:LOL, do be honest I didn't even see your vote until after I voted. But I usually vote for whoever stands out in the RVS.
So in order for Monkey to be town, we'd have to believe the following:Monkey wrote:I did read some, but usually the RVS isn't meant to be taken seriously. Hence the term random votes.
1. He usually votes for whatever stands out in the RVS, but this time he didn't, because apparently "it's not supposed to be taken seriously." Even though that's what he usually does! XD
2. He read only the very beginning of the RVS, but not enough to see Starbuck's vote. Yeah...

Number 1 seems like a misrepresentation of what he said to me. I'd elaborate but I rather he do so himself.Crazy wrote:This:

I've played a few with you.Brandi wrote:I think I've only ever played with Gorrad (once) and no one else in this game.
How is that scummy?Gorrad wrote:Vote: Brandi
I didn't random vote because I didn't see a need to. KMD pointing it out as scummy is utterly ridiculous, but Brandi's agreeing that it's odd is indeed scummy.
What did Gorrad do to start discussion?StrangerCoug wrote: Nothing seems off. Some players dislike random voting and will use other means to generate discussion (for example, The Fonz asks everybody questions).

Fuzzy, how scummy is "scummy enough" to get a vote? Why are you careful to vote? How does that help the town?

Monkey is probably scum btw.KMD is the coolest dude who ever lost a bet to me - vonflare-

"Scummy enough" is a judgment call on my part. Right now I don't see a clear person to vote for, so I won't vote. I play a very cautious style and like to look at all possibilities and place my vote where I see fit, and currently I don't see fit to use my vote. I am not one of those players who throws their vote around on a whim. My style helps the town more later on in the game when voting on a whim could lose the game.2-1 as Town (including the 39 minute final day)

Oh, KMD, I was thinking I played with you, but I see you around a lot in GD so I thought that's probably where I've seen you =P If you've played with me it was probably in marathon games.
About Monkey: The fact that he just "gave up" literally to say "I'm going to wait until I'm no longer under fire" feels more scummy to me than his actual argument with Starbuck.
Also, Crazy's first point against Monkey makes no sense whatsoever. I can't fathom what he's trying to say with that sentence.
I'd like to hear some of Crazy's thoughts on other players.-

You do realize you've voted for the same reason she did?MonkeyMan576 wrote:Starbuck's vote was obviously not random, but without good reasoning either. I'm not sure that it's scummy, but I'd be on the lookout for her reasoning on future votes.
This reeks. Not reacting to a poor reasoned vote is not necessarily scummy. In the random voting stages of games, including this one, there are many poorly reasoned votes, often which are not responded to. Does that make all those players scummy? Even after random voting I think reacting in such ways to poorly reasoned votes can be a little bit scummy. You are also deflecting over something minor, which I do find to be scummy.MonkeyMan576 wrote:I think if I didn't react to a poor-reasoned vote, it would be scummy. First you said you voted to create discussion, then you said you voted to get a reaction. I don't think you really know why you voted, and just don't want to admit it.
you can move it on yourself if you feel the need to. What benefit would a town player have of letting everyone else do the work in the game for him? It either gives scum more control over the direction of the game or if scum is the one doing this it allows scum to more easily ride the wagon/case of their choosing without risking getting caught had they tried to start a case themselves; they could just blindly follow a town player who is wrong while simultaneously pushing people toward that case.MonkeyMan576 wrote:Okay, this is just getting stupid. Monkey said that he usually votes for whatever stands out in the RVS. This time he didn't read the RVS for some reason, or only read "some" of it.Brandi wrote:Also, Crazy's first point against Monkey makes no sense whatsoever. I can't fathom what he's trying to say with that sentence.
But anyway, Kmd's "LIAR" thing is enough to lynch him right there.-

He waited awhile with his vote until he saw a use for it. Fairly simple.Kmd4390 wrote:
