What is that L-2 or 1? Either way... this is looking surprisingly familiar to another game I was in... hmm.....

Sure spyrex, but I was not trying to protect anyone. I was asked my opinion about deathnote. I answered. I simply caught a tell I thought was very telling and called them out on it. Would you have preferred me to not answer Plum? Not scum hunt? Lie?

Are you pushing a lynch so that Stark does not get called out? Lets here you answer that honestly.

Spyrex- Did you understand you were town/council immediately? Do you see the problem with stark's slip?

Actually when you said "slip" I didn't see the issue.

His reply, however is bizarre, to say the least. Issues to be dealt with later.

Yes.

More importantly than the connection that Council = Town it was very, very clear that I = Council.

Which, when Town = Council makes that question all the more scumslip by Deathnote.

What are you looking for with the wagon than?
Nothing much really, but its not any worse than any other random vote.
It could have easily escalated on essentially nothingness as you urself agree your vote held no real weight. Thus leading to an innocent being forced to claim or even lynched under poor circumstances. I'm surprised you just mindlessly went along with this. Once a wagon gains speed it can easily snowball out of control with a few poor town players adding their voice and scum also backing it. Which are you?
This is just silly.

Let's assume a random wagon gets to L-1 (which isn't a bad thing imo). Unless they were an idiot, nobody would claim in that situation - and only scum would demand that the person claim.

The only risk is that a person will misread the votecount and hammer by accident - or that scum will hammer and claim to have done so by accident - but that's easily dealt with by not accepting such an excuse on policy grounds.

I would vote you now, but I see there have been 6 pages of text, so I will wait.
Benmage wrote: A random wagon vote can't be entirely random....so what were you trying to achieve by wagoning? Or get from the wagon itself?
Again, silly and overparanoid. I don't know about you, but I don't approach the random stage with a set strategy in mind. A random wagon can go many ways, depending on responses. It's basically just a matter of putting your toe in the water and seeing what happens.
Snow_bunny wrote: Ok, after some thoughts, I decided to do it. Claim: I'm a miller. I was hesitant to do it, as I have no apparent reason to claim, but I do. I've learned that millers can help investigative roles by providing a "safe" test. And it's better if I claim early on.
Where did you learn that?

(Something tells me that I'll probably end up lynched, but still, I must do what I think it's best for town.)

Let's assume this is true. Why the heck would you reveal it?
Death Note wrote: Fessing for what? You act like I did something wrong... :/

SpyreX wrote:This isn't a function of a simple mistake and I find your apologizing for it very offputting.

1.) His statement makes it very clear he didn't read the opening post.
2.) Further, due to the confirmation mechanics he was forced to read his PM
3.) From that AND from the opening post it is clear what the win condition is.

Thus

1.) His not knowing said win condition is testament to not having said win condition.
Maybe I am just having a brainfart, but isn't there a gaping hole in this logic: If you hadn't read the opening post and you received a Council PM, you might well think you were of non-town alignment. "The Council" does sound vaguely sinister.

So, good lord, it makes sense.

THAT SAID, DeathNotes responses, saying he's going to active lurk, self-vote AND absence of a claim after putting himself at L-1 are a giant :headdesk: and I may want to go through with this wagon just because.

However, we've got some wagoners with some splainin' to do.

That said, Dramonic is town.

Seems I missed a major bandwagon.

My first reaction to my PM was okay, mmm, aligned to the council, kay no partners, wins when all who oppose The Council are eliminated, yey, town. Now that I think about it, I could also have assumed that I was some kind of traitorish role working for the councilscum powers (I dont know why I didnt) but after seeing the op, I confirmed I was town.

So I can see why someone could have made this mistake. Dont totally understand it but its not that impossible considering what vollkan just said. With that said, this wagon smells bad for some reason

There are tons of interesting reactions.

For example:
dramonic wrote:
DeathNote wrote:That depends.... is council town?
In this post, we see DN is a third party

Incidentally, I don't like third parties.
I think this reaction is one of the most prob townies. It doesnt make sense for scum to try to paint this as a third party slip. Also additional fact: could be timestamps but the group of Plum, kk and Spyrex apparently missed Deathnote post.

Kublai, Spyrex and Plum are better players than simple bandwagoners. IGMEOY.
Snow_Bunny wrote:Can I join the bandwagon?

Well, my role pm made it clear that the Council was town, so if you really didn't know it's because YOU ARE NOT TOWN!!!!
Err, how did your pm made it clear that the Council was town?

Socio is ignoring the deathnote situation and Im very close to call Benmage confirmed town for the rest of the game.

Where?

Kise, stop playing stupid.
Sajin wrote:When I first read my PM I was thoroughly confused. Only by reading the opening post did I understand that the council was the ruling body of the town (and not a informed minority of it like the word "council" could imply). So I could easily see how deathnote made a similar mistake to that. If you wish to think he was scummy for not understanding his alignment prior to posting in thread, fine- I can see that. But I do not think that not quite understanding the correlation is scummy in and of itself. It certainly does not deserve the quickness of this wagon.

Stark's slip I cannot see.

What do you think of Stark, plum?
Sajin is town.

And Vollkan is town.
