So you think it's questionable, but you're not going to vote for him because you're wrong. Got it Dev.
I'm going on a crusade to put more thought into my posts.

Awesome 1-1. Im leaning to believe more Steph than Percy. Percy's last posts really sound like caught scum facing an investigation on him and I really dont see Steph playing that awesome game as scum clearing lotsa people and forcing a 1-1 with a player like Percy who seems experienced. Ill reread some tomorrow but I think I already made my mind and I think Im right about Percyscum.

Hey Dev, Amished and Zazie, who do you think is scum?

Other than Percy? Hard to say. I don't like Dev's explanation nor behavior today, but I don't know if that's enough to go on. There's just too much to try to guess in this game I believe.

Oh well. Nicely played Steph, I'm truly impressed at how well you've played this game - you've maintained your fakeclaim absolutely perfectly. *applauds*

I think Steph is most likely a scum rolecop, and Amished is her buddy. I'm looking forward to reading the mod notes on the game!

As populartajo steps forward, the remaining members of the Manor feel their heads begin to spin, and reality shifts around them. Amished, Devestation and ZazieR fall to the ground, but tajo and Stephoscope remain strangely unmoved as the manor twists and warps. On the wall, words in blood appear,"HELP ME" and the fire dies in the grate. The corpses of Matthew and Roderick DeFoe appear, hacked apart by the machete of the poor, twisted twin that Sir Roderick blamed for his wife's death, all those years ago.
Populartajo cast off his human form, and revealed himself in his full gory splendour as The Prince. Stephoscope's clothing shimmered, and became a dark red robe, and he revealed himself to be Canning.
But Amished also changed - his robes, though, were tattered, and blood-red, and he was now in the guise of an old, wizened man. He watched horrified as the Prince lifted Devestation like a child and snapped his neck, before hanging him like a hunting trophy above the blazing fire.
Amished cried out: "You foolish servant, you unwitting pawn! You have broken the threads of fate!" He turned and walked out of existence, into other timelines and other years.
No such luck for ZazieR, however. The Trilby clone will have a partner in his unending agony in the belly of Chzo's Realm.

Populartajo(The Prince, Cabadath) and Stephoscope (Canning), The Order of the Blessed Agonies, have fulfilled their win condition.

The Innocents of the Manor have been slaughtered to a man, failing their win condition.

Amished, The Caretaker, has failed both the town win condition, and his role as the keeper of Destiny - the Manor has not been burnt, and the Idol survives.

Naomi_Saotome, Trilby, has failed the town win condition, but completed her fated win condition in seeing the Body of John DeFoe destroyed according to the correct timeline.

Xtoxm, The Body of John DeFoe, has failed his Serial Killer win condition.

In this parallel universe, things have gone horribly awry. The Order of Blessed Agonies managed to dispose of the Body, and were soon after able to take possession of the Soul and Mind, destroying them at leisure. The Trilby clones were never used by Theodore DaCabe to become the Second Prince - DaCabe is never even born, as Chzo is unloosed 200 years early, and ravages the World of Technology through his pawns. The dead Lenkmann is re-animated as The Puppet, and the Caretaker does nothing - he simply moves to a timeline where the inhabitants of the Manor failed less epicly.

Mod notes to follow. Feel free to disclose role info. Any suggestions are welcomed.

Can't wait for the mod notes.

Pop, how did you know that Devestation wasn't going to be protected by Amished?

Also, Steph, how did you know people's roles?

Very impressive play from Steph especially, very well done.

Thanks KoC, that was a great game.

One thing I will note down before the discussion begins, which is for Amished' sake: his ability to block a reality shift can't be used to block a kill leading to the endgame (which is what just happened), and only Lenkmann's protections persist through a reality shift. Now, I have a lecture in 2 hours. Good morning to you all. :)

Believe it or not, this is just my second win as scum. Props to Steph for being an awesome scumpartner and playing his role very good even after Zazie caught some inconsistencies. This is like the 10th time I see a town losing for assuming that cop means town. Dont do it anymore.
Percy wrote:Can't wait for the mod notes.

I didnt. I just thought the odds of Dev being protected from a daykill were lower than the odds of being protected from a nightkill. I gave up my nightkill yesterday for a reality shift where I can daykill. Ill let KOC to give the details. I still dont understand a lot of things or flavor. But the little I knew from the flavor was amazing. Nice job there KOC.

Its 12:38 am here, so Im going to sleep now. Will keep commenting tomorrow. Good game all.

I was incredibly disappointed I was not protected when I had the matches that explicitly stated that the town could not win and only tie if I was killed. Lame choice.

Gah. Stop distracting me from getting dressed and eating my bacon.
Amished actually protected all 3 pro-town players last night... and if any other daykill (like the shotgun, if you'd held onto it) had been used, no-one but scum could have died from it. Unfortunately for Amished, the reality shift broke his protections.

Players:

1. Nyx - Historical Advisor
2. Pyromaniac - Thief (Lenkmann)
4. populartajo - Best Boy (The Prince)
5. Lamont_Cranston - Make-up Artiste
6. Percy - Bodyguard to TV Anchor
7. Stephoscope - Thief (Canning)
8. Devestation - Cameraman
9. zwetschenwasser - Sound Engineer
10. hohum - Thief
11. Light-kun - Groundskeeper
12. Amished - Wardrobe Manager (Caretaker)
13. Sajin2 - Schoolboy
14. ZazieR - Gaffer
15. Xtoxm - Policeman (The Body of John DeFoe)
16. The Replacement - Schoolboy
17. Pablo Molinero - Policeman
18. Naomi_Saotome - Make-up Artiste (Trilby)
19. Sajin - Historical Advisor's Research Assistant

Anyone without a role in brackets was an Innocent.

Pro-town Objectives:
1. Destroy The Prince and Canning.
2. Escape the house by defeating all anti-town characters. (House included, but partial win was possible without burning it)

Caretaker Objective:
1. As well as escaping the house, ensure the house is burnt to maintain the future you have already lived through.

Anti-town Objectives:
1. Outnumber the Innocents
2. Destroy the Body of John DeFoe
3. Preserve the House and the Doll

Special Notes

Day 1 - Investigative Roles have a 10% to fail to get a result.

Day 2 - Shotgun would have proper ammo dropped the (RL)day before deadline.

Day 3 - All protective roles had a 10% to fail.

Day 4 - As soon as the matches came into existence, if any player had typed "Burn House with Matches", game would have been drawn between town and scum, with the Caretaker winning.

Day 5 - No effect in Day, but Canning and The Prince's targets were switched.

Day 6 - The Doll ceases to affect the owner after this day.

No more effects occurred past this point, to give endgame some sense of tension.

I'll dish out the Role PMs later. Now leave me be.

One last post before I go to sleep. Ill check the mod notes later. Im wondering how this game was balanced? 2 scum against 18 players seems a little imba considering also the sk could have killed Steph.

Prince killed Xtoxm
Body attempted to kill Prince, failed due to protection.

Doll random-killed Elmo/Hohum

Night 4
Prince killed Sajin
Doll random-killed Stephoscope, failed from protect.

Night 5
Prince killed Pyromaniac
Doll random-killed Amished, failed from protect.

Night 6
No Kill Submitted

Night 7
Night Kill traded for Day Kill

Role PMs:

The Prince:
The Prince:
Born in 55AD, you crawled out of your mother's womb as she died,
stabbed by a Roman sword. A Druid of Anglesey saved you, and took
you to the ancient isle to teach you the ways of the Druids,
giving you the name Cabadath, 'The One Marked by Blood.'
But the Romans were a force unmatchable by any on Earth... so you
broke the law of the Circle, and attempted to summon something
far beyond the confines of this mortal realm: a pain elemental
called Chzo. He...it, took you, warped you into a creature of
his will, able to maintain the illusion of human form, but when revealed,
far more powerful than any child of Adam or Eve. Since then,
you have travelled the twisted skeins of destiny, searching for the perfect
Bridge, a tortured soul whose three aspects, Mind, Body and Soul,
when destroyed will form a link of energy that will unleash Chzo's true power upon the Realm of Technology. It is this which has brought you to
DeFoe manor: if half the rumours are true, a worthy Bridge once resided here. Disguising yourself as a member of a group of thieves, wearing
some poor unfortunate's skin, you prepare to investigate,
and with luck, to provide a few victims for Chzo's pleasure.
You are entirely safe from all night-kills. You kill once a night,
OR once during the game, you can give up your night kill for a
day kill, and to limit all players including yourself to 3 vote changes in that day. You will also recieve information about fellow residents of the House from your servant, Canning, a.k.a. Queen Elizabeth II, each morning, and may converse freely with them via PM at night. You win when your faction has numerical superiority over all others, both town and anti-town.

Please confirm in thread: http://www.mafiascum.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=11458
The Caretaker:
You are the Caretaker:
When you were human, they called you Johnathon Somerset.
You were Destiny's prisoner, attacked by something, the Welder, you called it, on the SS Mephistopheles, your crewmates slaughtered, and you were blamed. Somehow, you delivered yourself Frehorn's Blade, and by killing yourself with it, became a creature of pure will, almost as powerful as the mastermind behind the scheme to open the Bridge: Chzo, an ancient pain elemental.
Now, you are Destiny's servant. Travelling across time and space at will,
you have vowed to make sure that whatever happened, stays happened.
If that means saving someone to die another night, knowing you could prevent it,
that is what you must do. If that means giving everything up to prevent
the denizens of Chzo, so be it. Destiny is not something that can be
changed - you came here to make sure Chzo does not break the immemorial rules. Events 400 years from now, including your own death, in a lonely prison ship floating in space, depend on you containing the power of the Manor now, for it must not be unleashed for 198 years and 5 days exactly. You know, because you were there too, holding the doors open.
- Can protect three different people for one night phase and the following day phase during the game.
- Can sacrifice two of these protections (can then only protect one person) to prevent a reality shift. (You will have 48 hours IN REALTIME to activate this power when a shift begins. A shift will be made apparent in narration.)

You win when all threats to the humans have been eliminated.

Please Confirm in thread: http://www.mafiascum.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=11458
THe Body of John DeFoe:
You are The Body of John DeFoe (Serial Killer/Framer):
You were born 20 minutes after your twin brother, Matthew.
Your coming into the world was too much for your mother... she died.
Your father blamed you. He had a cellar built, entrance hidden
in the kitchen wall, and chained you up, for 16 long years.
Then, on your 16th birthday, Roderick DeFoe, your father, tried to kill you
in a drunken rage, but failed, slumping half-asleep to the floor
before he could finish you. Matthew tried to heal you, bandage the wound,
but your mind, retarded by 16 years underground, didn't understand,
thought they wanted to prolong the suffering. You took up the machete,
still wet with your blood, a thick leather apron to hold your guts in,
and a welder's mask, to protect your maimed eyes from the harsh, unfamiliar light.
Then you killed them both, before succumbing to your own wounds.
But you still survive. Something has kept you going. Barely more than a skeleton, but your mind felt clearer than it ever had when alive.
You were awoken by the last DeFoes, Clarance and Melinda. You knew your own: and killed them. Better alone than a chance for betrayal,
as your father betrayed you the moment he cast you down into the cellar.
But now, there are too many even for you to slay at once.
The remnants of your memories allow you to disguise yourself as Matthew.
Your rotten bones underneath barely allow you to move any more:
but one a night will suffice. You will stop them all, before they come for you. The Body of John DeFoe kills once per night.
Alternatively, one night, instead of killing, can possess one player
and force them to make a kill (framing them). You cannot frame other Evil players. You win when you have numerical superiority over all others, both town and anti-town, or nothing can prevent this.

Confirm in thread: http://www.mafiascum.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=11458
Lenkmann
You are Agent Lenkmann:
You've worked for the Special Skills Project, SSP, for over 20 years now.
You were the first in the Project to experience a reality shift first-hand,
and you've been working ever since to find a way to prevent others from
having to go through the day of hell you suffered in the Realm of Magick.
Just as you perfected the nethicium compound, that lowers the levels of
fear-inducing hormones, whilst acting as a deterrent to Chzo's minions,
you heard about the Manor. The police can call it a murder-suicide,
but having seen what the Lord of The Blessed Agonies can do,
you decided to investigate the Manor in person, hoping you
won't have to use the newly developed fear-killers.
While you haven't perfected the dosage yet, as long as you don't give
anyone two doses within 48 hours, it should be safe - better than that,
it will allow the subject to see the world as it truly is, not as
the Pain God would have them see it, and at least make his minions
wary of attacking anyone who has taken them that night.
Doles out nethicium-based painkillers - protection from all kills
for a 24 hour period: 1 night and 1 day. You are immune to the
effects of reality-shifts, and so is anyone you protect.
You win when all threats to the humans have been eliminated.

Confirm in thread: http://www.mafiascum.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=11458
Trilby
You are Trilby:
Gentleman thief, ladies man... and all-round nice guy.
Get in, grab the loot, get out - that was the plan. No murder, no chaos...
You probably don't deserve to be here, but that means nothing to what resides in this house.
Your quick wits will be enough to keep you alive for a while, but your
good luck only seems to protect you from the malignant beings within this house. You are a Anti-Spirit Bulletproof/1-shot Cop - any kills aimed at you by a spirit of the Manor will automatically fail. All other kills will succeed, unless some other intervention occurs.
You win when all threats to the humans have been eliminated.

Confirm in thread: http://www.mafiascum.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=11458
Canning
You are Canning:
A faithful servant of the Prince, and a chosen one of the Order
of the Blessed Agonies, you have undergone all 3 Agonies in order to prepare for this mission: Agony of the Mind, Body and Soul, you took them all in order to take this privileged place at the Prince's side.
You may be a mere mortal, but you can go places your master cannot,
and find out things no-one would tell a being of such palpable evil.
Each night, you may scry one player, revealing their role and alignment, but
not abilities, or lack thereof. This result may be communicated via PM to The Prince, a.k.a. populartajo at the beginning of each day, and you may talk freely with The Prince at night. You win when your faction has numerical superiority over all others, both town and anti-town.

Confirm in thread: http://www.mafiascum.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=11458
Innocents
You are an Innocent.
You don't deserve to be here, but now that you are, you
and your fellow humans must drive the evil away, and make sure you escape alive. You have nothing but your vote, and your wits.

Confirm in thread(you already did): http://www.mafiascum.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=11458
Additional info - If The Prince had died before Canning, Canning would have gone from rolecop to Cult Leader/SK.
If the Body and the Soul of John DeFoe had co-existed, they would have become SK-Lovers.

I think this went pretty okay. The roles that I cut from the game weren't hugely useful - The Ghost of Roderick DeFoe was a fully-fledged Framer/False Oracle, and Agent Jackson was essentially the town's counterpart to Canning. It would have been interesting to see how things played out with those roles, plus the 1 Innocent I cut. The nature of the game, much like the series it was based on, was designed to reward patience and thought - with the occasional flash of luck. The town was had mixed luck with items - the Idol's kills were blocked, but you shot hastily and drank the red liquid - although the merits of a Mod-Confirmed Townie probably outweighed the loss of hohum by Day 4 - although the Idol killed him before the poison did, funnily enough. You also failed the secret roll on D3 for a fluorescent light emitter - a one-shot ability which would have allowed you to trace 1 kill from N2 back to the killer - which could well have given you The Prince, but created a Cult lead by a Serial Killer for you to worry about. I expected tajo to trigger the reality shift MUCH earlier - the benefits in one of the early potential LyLo situations when Zazie was possessed could have ended the game far earlier. Actually submitting kills is a good idea too. :P I can only apologise for the lack of flavour in the mid-game - work leading up to the return to college caught me badly, and I preferred to keep things rolling rather than waste your time while I struggled with writer's block - something that's been affecting me a lot until recently.
To everyone who stayed the whole way through, you have my thanks. Those who replaced are doubleplusgood for having the guts to (in some cases) walk into the midst of a fully-fledged mind-fuck, or worse, a D2 at Page 90 with no real progress made - a situation I would usually shy away from as a player.

Knight of Cydonia wrote:One thing I will note down before the discussion begins, which is for Amished' sake: his ability to block a reality shift can't be used to block a kill leading to the endgame (which is what just happened), and only Lenkmann's protections persist through a reality shift. Well that's just lame. As soon as Percy flipped innocent I had tajo/Steph scumteam pegged instantly. The way my PM was written made me think that I could give up my protections or keep them through a reality shift, not that I'd lose them anyways.

Also, I had 3 successful protects this game! Too bad two of them were on Stepho.. Though I kept myself alive, that didn't mean much as apparently I don't get 3 protections if I keep them through a shift.

Also, there was no shift "apparent in narration" so I was completely neutered after it happened no matter what I did. Fan-fucking-tastic.
I'm going on a crusade to put more thought into my posts.

No, my name is not "Ed."
