Sure. Your goal as a town player is to find scum. Lack of effort in finding scum is one of the biggest scumtells. If you reread the game so far and find someone has been making posts that don't help find scum, then point that out.
It's also useful to learn something about how other players think about the game and then possibly spot inconsistencies. If someone states that they want to lynch all lurkers, but then they vote for one lurker and ignore others, that's interesting.
It's useful to do anything that will let people get a read on you later. As scum, you'd want to try to have no opinion and fly under the radar, then hope that town doesn't pick up on that. If a player says that they're certain that player X is town or mafia and they later turn out to be right or wrong after that player is lynched or killed at night, then the remaining town players have something to look at and possibly draw conclusions from. So, not voting isn't helpful.
Basically you have only your vote and your only task is to decide where to place it.
