Nope, nothing I'm aware of at least.

For the record, the "error" in my first post was very deliberate - I was seeing if I'd get one or two chips.

Yeah, i'm not throwing any real suspicions, just trying to throw things out for day one, since day one is the slowest and any ideas are usually worthwhile. We need at least a few townies that can keep chip count up incase we need to all-in mafia, but it does seem logical that most scum will try to avoid the all in that way. Just don't be too hasty to lynch based on post count. For example, I do better the more I talk about things so I post more than other people. But don't go thinking that's a mafia defense because it's a crappy one =P.

Hm. In that case, Maximus, is there anything in your role which would affect your chip count? Because Aelyn didn’t get credit for his doublepost- but you did. I’m wondering how Bamboo’s “glitch” will be treated.

Bamboo received 2 chips. One for his initial post and One for the clarification.

He did not receive chips for the other two.

I just received two good questions...

1. If you go all-in against somebody, does the winner get the losers chips?

Answer:

Yes

2. Similarly if somebody is lynched, does the person who casts the lynching vote get the lynched persons chips?

Answer:

Yes, and whatever is in the pot. The pot has the chips of anyone who is night-killed.

Why are you voting twice?

There was no mention of me getting chips for double post or whatnot in my role PM.

And we should be on a lookout for the person who casts the last vote, because they could be trying to increase their chip counts by casting a final vote and therefore, receiving all their chips.

Not quite. Earlier on, you got two chips for two posts in quick succession, each clearly different, even though they were posted in what seemed like a chain of thought.
I only got one for posting two slightly different, yet basically identical posts.
Bamboomancer got two chips - one for the triple-post, and one for the one apologizing about the triple-post.

I was testing whether the concept of chips is that each line of thought gives you a chip, or if each distinctly different post awards one. In other words, I'm testing the mechanic in-thread. I could have PMed LML, but I guess I'm used to not receiving answers, and felt this was the best way.

In other words, the mod had not made it clear exactly how the mechanic worked, and I was checking it out.

Edited posts = no chip awarded
Computer generated double and triple posts = no chip awarded.
One complete thought spread around multiple posts = 1 chip awarded.
Immediate clarification on a previous post = no problem (unless it's abused)
Double Posting = no problem (if you say different stuff...)

Sorry for cluttering up the early game with a series of annoying posts like that, but I feel that if a rule's out there but not fully known about, the best thing to do is find out as much about it as rapidly as possible.

I don't think we should be concerned with the people that post a lot - we still need to be on lurker watch. I know this is my first post, and I am not calling for a lurker vote. Both mafia and town benefit from many posts, but lurking is still a mafia trait. I will post more later, I am in the middle of a move and will be able to post more tonight.

(FYI, I graduate on Saturday, so posting this weekend, especially Saturday, will be difficult.)

I think Aelyn was reasonable in trying to get information about the chip count mechanic.

It occurs to me that Iammars might be "small blind" today. If so, there's probably a "big blind" and a "dealer" out there also, and these roles would rotate each day. Does this seem reasonable?
