Right now I just don't believe X is a supersaint. I think it was more likely a claim to try and starve off his lynch that has backfired. With cow claiming jail keeper and having that match up with my no result on night one I am tempted to believe him, however he could simply be a scum roleblocker. If I am wrong and X is a supersaint then I would rather have Hero hammer him.

See, this is the attitude that I'm seeing among the Town: I am scum because SuperSaint is a convenient scum claim. Why is it so unlikely that I'm telling the truth?

Because I don't think a real supersaint would have claimed out right in this situation. It would have been different if you were being run up and were worried about a townie hammering you, but that wasn't the case. I think it was more likely that you were tying to play on the lylo or near lylo fear. With the situation like it is, the claim just feels manufactured.

I can see what Elvis is driving at about the miller with no cop and Truant was a bizarre kill. I don't think trackers are effected by the miller role are they? If I had followed PP, I think I just would have found him at home.

A lot of focus on VPB in the beginning. Possible scum ploy with deciding each other is good. Then for a while he tunnels on Pesco. I still don't get the whole problem with my QFTing image, but that's been gone over a couple times. The next day she focuses on the Juls/Empking relationship, which is very understandable. Then she's backing up VPB a lot in the Juls/VPB fight, which I agree with, but strengthens the possibility of a connection between the two (EK & VPB). Then Hero jumps in an makes a case on her, which I think she easily combats. Then the Hider claim starts confirming people, and one of them is (surprise) VPB. And then from then on, she's slipped up with a 3 scum proclamation, huge speculation on the setup (that Vi is a bastard mod who would let her live with non-mafia scum). Last, some mod comments.

Town pretty much lost the game on its own. Hero764 tried to turn the game around, but by then it was too late. Meanwhile the players that got the power/scum roles were all veterans, and they chose veterans for their Mentees. The deck was stacked against Town just from that.

Ironically, the first two leading wagons were on both scum. I was really worried for the first few days that this would be a short game.

Personally, I thought PaperPenguin looked Town enough to avoid lynching. That's my opinion from my ivory mod tower; take it for what it's worth. I really have a hard time blaming people for the Empking lynch, because etc. Me and Juls have already discussed why she got lynched; ultimately she sealed her own fate by bringing in Jester speculation. I don't know if I edited this into a post, but while I *may* include weird or hated roles in a game, I won't do it irresponsibly. Trust that I'm not drunk or reeeeally sleep-deprived when I make these setups, please!

The idea for this setup's flavor was Rhinox's idea, I think. He proposed it as a joke, and in typical Vi fashion I went way too far with it. I actually didn't know much about the flavor you saw here until I went /in to the Mini Theme queue. That's why I'm kind of ashamed to have posted the Role PMs - they should be an embarrassment to anyone over the age of 30 and well capture my complete and total ignorance of two decades I'm told I should have lived through.

The setup itself was actually my second draft. I wanted to do a mostly mountainous game with some bastardish twists to it, but as I worked through the flavor I found that I hated it. So I threw it all away and started over. At the time I had just reviewed someone else's setup who wanted to use a Cult, and I suggested something pretty similar to the Cult Mentor to that scummer and thought "hm, I can use this on my own". And that's how the Cult Mentor came about. How do you like it? I tried to make it balanced, but because the first "kill" (actually a recruit) is masked it makes the game harder for Town than ordinary scum.

The battery meter - something I literally came up with two minutes after MeMe told me my setup was next - was IMO a successful idea, because it conformed the deadline to the discussion. It's too bad that it requires me to be here

every day

for it to work, though. I need someone younger to keep up with my deadlines if I do it again

hascow's failure to block Sotty7's recruitment N1 was borderline mod error, for which I apologize. I hope the reason it went through is clear, if legalistic.

Putting two Cult Mentors in the game was the most hilarious thing I think I've seen onsite. The two scumteams will find that they were each thinking the same things at the same times, right down to doubletargeting Moriarty147. I'm not going to post the QuickTopics just out of policy, but the people responsible for them may.

elvis_knits trying to derail the wagon from X was kind of funny, mostly because she seemed to be

having trouble

with being scummy but not obviously scummy for the sake of being scummy

Town didn't really have a chance once I finally started playing the game(the only chance was if has could jail himself). I'm kicking myself for that right now because if I had explained my suspicions on day 3 we might have lynched one of them(no one was listening to me anyways though ).

Anyways very cool game Vi, my first with cults. Imo you should have switched one of the cults with a Serial Killer and made the remaining cult with no kill(and maybe one more recruit, I dunno). I was pretty sure that since the game wasn't over yet it was just a serial killer left. Its pretty convenient how each night there only ended up being one kill, guess we got lucky on that one. Town really would have been at a disadvantage if they didn't happen though.

Props to Juls for getting VPB. I was starting to suspect myself towards the end of the day(he looked like he was

trying

to connect himself to e_k), but when I was reading through Jul's case initially I admit I thought it was as stupid as everyone else did.

Gratz to VPB and Sotty, you already had the game won by day 4.

Well I just finished the Haruhists QT. I am glad I could be such a source of amusement for you!

What sucks is you guys, by the end, had me convinced I was stupid and that was what sucked so bad for me. I hate feeling stupid.

I keep forgetting things.

The Cult Mentors were really, really swingy. There was the chance that they could shoot each other and the Town would auto-win, or that the game would come down to a tie between them and I would have to arbitrarily decide a winner.
To compromise, I gave one of them (MJ) one-shot target immunity, so that if they shot each other, one was more likely to survive. To balance this, I gave the other one (Tarhalindur) a Win Condition that would take priority over MJ's (read them closely). The game's ending was still weird and swingy, but I did the best I could with it.

Also, X got another safeclaim because Elton John was kind of a lame safeclaim in the first place.

Yeah, I thought the same thing. It was really screwy how there was no night where two people died. So when I died, I figured that it was Game Over. Then EK & I were like, WTF?

Yeah, well, like you, we thought we were the only scum. And confirming both of you wasn't the smartest, but confirming one of you wouldn't have been too crazy.

The scum really ruled this game, and I'm not just blowing my own horn. I think all four of us looked pretty town except for my claim...
