baiting, not lieing. its page 19. rules are on page 1. chosen one doesn't know who they are. mafia only knows the chosen is one of four they didn't exclude. why would you ask such an unanswerable question?

I'm not as confident of that, but I'm definitely town, and it is possible I'm the chosen, so yeah, I think I'd only consider self-voting if we were at 3-player.

how is it possible that you are the chosen and not know it? you have asked two other players if they are the chosen, yet seem to understand the game mechanic perfectly in reference to yourself.

I had at least three reasons:
1. To see if you would fake-claim.
2. To see how your answer compared to other peoples' answers. Depending on your response, I could have gained or lost confidence in my read on another particular player.
3. I'll abbreviate this reason for now: OERDYYDOEE.

I'm pretty sure the mafia know exactly who the chosen one is (though I can't seem to find where the mod indicated this. There are the sample role PM's, but those would have been issued before the chosen one had been determined.)

What do you mean by baiting? Did you expect a counterclaim?

baiting as in: seeing what would happen if i claimed to be the chosen. dry-fits vote is certainly suspect(especially void of reasoning), but you then voted him as if you believed me. you will need to further explain 2 and 3. other players have been calling you the chosen and you really haven't stepped in too much to dispel the reason. raivann could easily have camped their vote on you to distance and you are certainly a smart enough player to bus your scumbuddy for credibility. archon certainly never voted nuwen, but did interact somewhat suspiciously.

end of day 1 i read ed as townie. his responses to zorblag could be a clever ruse, but i doubt it.

no, just wanted some explanation from you as to why you chose the line of questioning you did. by accepting the fact that everyone seems to agree you are the chosen it serves to prevent us from looking at other possibilities. the chosen was selected at random from four players, so to just agree that archon is the chosen for the reasons stated seems a bit oppurtunistic.

The benefit to djscum is avoiding being lynched. Actually, that may not work; if you did not realize that the chosen doesn't know who they are, djscum would also expect a counterclaim. So, maybe it's not useful. I still don't understand why you'd make that claim, but I'm not interested in pursuing it at the moment.

Both you and Ed seem to think I'm trying to support the idea that I'm the chosen. I don't see it. I'm one of a handful of people not likely to have been excluded. From my perspective, I think there's about a 1 in 3 chance that I'm the chosen, maybe slightly higher. Anyone willing to assume I'm town should probably estimate about the same probability.

This is supposed to be a team game. In the games I've read here, it seems more of an ego game. People would rather lose the game, but be able to claim to have figured it out than win the game.
